Was at last night's game. Bramlage looked like it was at less than 50% capacity. Will be interesting to see what Saturday's turnout looks like. This team should be selling out their games.

KK looks great, this might have been the wake up call he needed.

Seems they have a lot of e seats beyond the baseline for an intimate arena.

I don't feel like that arena is intimate at all. It feels massive, like it has a capacity of like 30,000. Maybe it's the high ceiling and two decks but it feels huge in there.
Yes, it looked huge on the TV. Wikipedia says 14,000 capacity.

Tipped income?

Oh dear. You should probably scrap the plan entirely because you clearly either have the palate of an adolescent or your cooking talents are too far gone to be salvaged.

During Covid I set out to watch every Academy Award Best Picture winner. Haven't completed the list but have seen just about everything all the way back to the fifties. Just watched Bridge On The River Kwai (1957). Fantastic flick.

What are the highlights?
So I should say I probably had already seen half of the 60-70 I've now seen. Some that stand out that I hadn't seen before:

- It Happened One Night
- Best Years Of Our Lives
- The Apartment
- In The Heat Of The Night
- The Sting
- The Hurt Locker

This year I want to figure out some simple but tasty recipe plans to turn a simple grocery store trip into multiple good meals.

EXAMPLE:

Buy a whole chicken and butcher it up.

Meal 1: fried boneless (breast) and bone-in wings

Meal 2: marinated and grilled thighs & legs

Meal 3: roast & shred the rest, make stock with the bones, and turn it into a soup or stew

Anyone done this? I think it would be a cool way to work on basic cooking skills and have some no brainer meals in my back pocket at all times.
Do it with a turkey and you'll get a lot more mileage.

It’s like you people don’t even care about your local booze salesman as he is trying to pay the credit card bill from Christmas for the family.
Your local booze salesman has non-alcs in his portfolio and they're on program in January  :peek:

Has anyone ever made kimchi? I got some pho from cafe vie earlier this week which came with a side of kimchi, I finally got around to eating the kimchi today and it was amazing so I decided I'd make some.

I yolo'd some kimchi recipe from the Internet and used bok choy instead of napa cabbage since that is all Hy-Vee had.

I left 2 jars out to ferment faster and put 3 in the fridge to go slower.

If I suddenly stop posting on here I probably died of food poisoning or something.

Pretty sure puni has gone down that rabbit hole. I'm also confused about the pho (Vietnamese) and kimchi (Korean) combination.

I’m confused as to why Killers of the Flower Moon isn’t getting much talk here. It’s def going to be a front runner for best picture and a seminal movie.

What gives?
Probably the 3.5 hr runtime  :sdeek:

Bitters are also nice to have on hand to put into your Topo Chicos.
Club soda with bitters and a lemon is my go-to sober drink when out at bars. Looks like a whiskey soda and tastes pretty good.

going on my 3rd Dry January in a row this year.  I kind of look forward to it now TBH.  No hangovers, pretty decent weight loss and best of all the smug self-righteous feeling you get.  Pretty cool.
The biggest benefit for me is the great sleep I get.

The Iron Claw is by far the saddest movie I have ever seen in theaters.
Will not be watching.  I am done with sad movies.
It's sad but quite good. Also Zac Efron...holy steroids.

Pretty sure everyone has known Whitlock to be a pervert for decades. I remember reading on ksufans about his escapades in various KC gentlemen's clubs.

I have been crushing chili crisp lately.  And I know it's killing me.
What do you put it on? I bought some but couldn’t find a vessel for it that felt right

It's of course great on ramen, but anything that could use some "umami" kick works.

I've put it on eggs. Yesterday I put some on some risi e bisi even. And in the past I've even put some in curry.
I had a jar and I used it exclusively on eggs.

you guys get down on salsa macha? because FOLKS
Sounds delish! I actually have some dried chiles (habs) laying around and might try my hand at making some. Doesn't look too complicated.

Dined at Kata Nori with mocat and some other friends before the KSU Cats hoops game last week. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Wonka was great. Hugh Grant as the Oompa Loompa was fantastic and so were the Sour Patch Kids I crushed during the movie.

If the story about him beating up a girl is true, I'd like him off the team. Pretty hard to believe that story is true without an arrest and criminal charges, though.
From what I am hearing it is not even close to that. Tomlin was involved in an altercation that started inside of Tubby's. He was escorted out to the patio where the fight popped off again. Tomlin's girlfriend was trying to break up the fight and ended up catching one. Not a great situation but far from Tomlin beating the hell out of a woman. There's a reason this thing went quickly to diversion. There's no videotape as my understanding is that the police didn't even obtain security footage. Source = A-

Refresh me on what happened with CK?
He and pullen got clothes from someone that worked at the mall.

Must not have been Curt’s first infraction. They had a hearing about his status and pat bosco told John Currie to eat a dick and drove Curt to practice

Pretty sure CK was almost kicked off the team because of a hot piss test, not Dillards-gate. IIRC Skinny Benny wrote a legendary letter-to-the-editor to the Collegian in CK's defense and Bosco came to the rescue. Pretty embarrassed for supposed liftetime fans Cire and Benji in this thread TBH.

Can someone give me the scoop on the Hickory Hut?
Never been before and I'm going to meet up with some buds there. What's the best thing to get?
Slammer with a side of o-rings was my order the one time I've been there and I was very pleased.

What's better, Antler Room or Farina? Sound off in the comments.
Haven't had either but some people I trust wouldn't even put Farina in the same conversation as Antler Room and they're friends with Michael Smith.
