Essentially Flyertalk / The official goEMAW Swimming Pool thread.
« on: February 23, 2023, 07:24:17 PM »
This is a catch all thread irt swimming pools.  I specialize in equipment installation, equipment preventative maintenance, and equipment repairs.  I cleaned pools for 8 years but none as recently as 13 years ago.  I have never done a structural repair and do not have a shovel on my van.

Now that all that is out of the way, let us talk all things swimming pools.

Tech Support and Suggestion Board / “My messages “ feature
« on: October 13, 2021, 08:19:57 AM »
“My Messages”

Am I doing something wrong?  Why is this feature so clunky?  Why can’t I see the messages I send to people?  The only time I can see my sent messages is if someone replies back to it.  Why is this feature the equivalent of a monkey ******* a football.

Thanks, not Tom

Essentially Flyertalk / Stanford Game Tailgate
« on: April 24, 2021, 10:27:49 AM »
So, who in DFW (or not in DFW, idk) would want to help get this thing going?  I can do foods.  I do not have the ability to coordinate the other logistical stuff associated with it right now though as work and a toddler are kicking my ass.

Sept 4 @ AT&T stadium.  Looking at the stadium website, currently they are saying spaces are required between each vehicle and no mingling of peoples allowed.  Probably off-site would make for the best tailgate experience then.  I am not familiar with Arlington area and all my recommendations would be in the Dallas area for location.

Is there any interest in helping to get this thing rolling?

lemonade stands, i'm a sucker for them.  Not a huge lemonade guy but there's something about just driving down a street on a hot summer day and behold, curbside lemonade.  I will support this type of capatalistic endeavor anytime i see it.

your timely response will help 42 complete his long overdue mapping project.  he is so embarassed that he misplaced this data that he sent me to apologize for him, and gather this data again.

Essentially Flyertalk / doritos...
« on: February 17, 2014, 08:36:08 PM »
in the history of ever, has there ever been a more over-consumed crap-tier food product.  i vote no, and it is not even close.

the only redeeming quality is that one time a deer got it's head stuck in a bag of doritos and made for a totally adorbs pic

customer - mr tramp, can you come look at the pool heater you installed, i think something is wrong

me - why is that

customer - we turned it on last night to heat the pool and it started smoking and now this morning there is smoke coming from the heater and pool

me - that is steam, that happens when you have a 200 degree heater box, an 80 degree pool and 20 degree air temperature

customer - if you could just come out and take a look because something is wrong and we don't want to swim until it gets fixed

me - no problem, i'll be by shortly and that will be $75 for 1 minute of diagnostics

 :Wha:

p.s. i know it is not bottling

Essentially Flyertalk / 2013 gE poster as a picturebox personality
« on: September 05, 2013, 08:46:52 PM »
I was thinking of the highly comical spats that the poster known as rick daris and also the poster known as GoodForAnother have and I was reminded of this dialogue between Principal Belding and Zach Morris

Zachary 'Zack' Morris: Hey, Mr. Belding. What brings you to study hall?
Mr. Richard Belding: Don't get cocky, Morris. I've got my eye on you.
Zachary 'Zack' Morris: Sorry, sir. You're not my type.

So without further ado

rick daris as Mr. Belding

Dennis Haskins by crowdsurf, on Flickr

GoodForAnother as Zach Morris

zach morris by johnfpor, on Flickr

this is by no means, unless it's a coincidence, what they look like in real life but how their persona plays out on gE

there are no right answers just better answers so feel free to post away

Essentially Flyertalk / pulled pork sammich
« on: January 07, 2012, 03:29:10 PM »
Well, with the hangover and getting home late this afternoon from the tree farm (chainsaws, skid steers and hangovers is a bad combo), I'm getting a really late start.  Don't worry though, I'm not welching, not a bastard like that Paterno sombitch, can't believe he pulled that crap going into the half.

Will prolly be pretty late before the butt is done.  Will post some pix updates as soon as my wife gives me my wifi card back.  I can't believe she was lurking in the chat room when I said I wanted to run through the discount double-check girl.

Such is life...

Kansas State Football / SEC's greatest defense, no offense
« on: January 06, 2012, 11:51:32 PM »
The SEC's 2nd most prolific offense and most prolific passing team manages 345 total yards.

Let's compare with say, Iowa State, 365 total yards.

Ok, that's a fluke, how about cellar dwellar KU, 286 yds

How 'bout UT, 310 yds (you finally beat them in something, grats)

Former SEC washout Tubberville, 580 yds

Wow, we would allow like 100 yds/game if we played in the sec
