Allocate $100 million for a NEW stadium seating around 45k fans. Bond payments covering interest would be around $4 million per year. That leaves $3.5 million PLUS the $800k we currently pay for a HC = $4.3 million. Whatever isn't used can go towards amortizing the stadium debt with donors and Williams Fund contributors paying the rest.

What would $100M get?  Unless they nuke Memorial, they'll also need another football ops complex.  Sure, you could build locker rooms into a new stadium, but it all becomes a huge WTF.  Even if they built over the practice fields/bubble, clip art building faces out into.....

I think it's unclear as to who they're playing for: Snyder, or the coords sitting on their asses up in the booth.

Also, surprised we haven't dusted off Stan Parrish 12th Man tryouts. Or have we just made it official policy with walk ins?

^ Contrasted with Indiana, with the first possession in OT1, going for the TD on 4th down rather than kicking. Granted, they lost in OT2, but their coaches were tuned in to the game enough to know their D was on the ropes...

All those facilities have drop tile ceilings.  Let that sink in.

The booster club with drop tile ceilings and tablecloths surrounding by stacking chairs it looks like the banquet room at a Lutheran church.

That's the best Michigan can do? Really?  That looks like the breakfast area at some random Holiday Inn Express....

Who gets 6th man? Hurt, Edwards, or Rohlder?

So is this now equivalent to, like, Mr. Irrelevant in the NFL draft?

I haven't attended or watched a single game since Weber was hired....and while it was refreshing to not have to drive an hour to and from games and I had a lot of free time during the winters, it's still depressing that what's happened to the men's basketball program is exactly what the anti-oscar people have said would happen.  Both Weber and Currie need to be fired immediately.

I don't have much of a problem other than his dipshit oscar hire in the 1st place. oscar is obviously going to get next season after which he needs to can that loser and let somebody else find a coach for him.

But hiring Weber is the only thing that he's done at K-State.  All of the money that he's raised was due to the success of Coach Snyder and Coach Martin.  The new facilities were built with that money and the money that the new Big 12 tv contracts brought to the school.  And if you look around, every other school in the Big 12 is building new facilities or upgrading existing ones, so Currie hasn't done anything that anyone else in his position could have done--except for running off Coach Martin and the Weber hire.  Those are really the only two actions that Currie can be judged on.

Ehh - Max Urick ain't walking in the front door....

I wasn't aware of the banking history.  To me, salt is the only historical identity.  Then there's Dillons, the Cosmosphere, the State Fair, and the NJCAA tournament.

The Cosmosphere has always been good.  Haven't been to the fair in ages.  I really hope the tournament stays around - that's been fun to attend the couple of times I've gone.  Did they get the requested improvements planned out and underway enough to extend the contract?  That truly is a nice thing to have.

Hutch is really the enigma.  You can really only easily go places west from Hutch.  The Interstate ignored them for a reason.  They literally only got a four lane highway into town like 2 years ago.  They just don't fit the I-135/US 81 corridor and stick out like a sore thumb.

Yet its about the biggest KU hive west of Lawrence.  Thinking its a generational and collective attempt at transference to cover up their self loathing.

I'm no Hutch apologist, but that's literally not true. When I think of Western Kansas, I think of economies largely based on agriculture, and that's just not the case with Hutch.  I spent much of my childhood there, and I didn't know a single farmer and in fact never stepped foot on a farm (Did go to an emu farm for a field trip, once).  Whatever Wichita is, that's basically what Hutch is.  Wichita is our NYC, and we are northern New Jersey.

They were, back when interstate banking was prohibited, the financial center for farming.  Once that prohibition went away - they lost that identity. There's not much there that was thriving 40 years ago - salt production and ?

There just isn't anything that screams "This is Hutchinson"....

And K-96/US50/K61 to the west didn't build to Hutch - they stayed at arm's length several miles south so people could bypass Hutch.  It wasn't until K-61 north to - I-135 - and McPherson that a modern highway actually came in to Hutch.
