Kansas State Football / Re: Top 25 (not for the poors)

5th in the conference. meh.

Only because the schools above us boost their prices dramatically when the Cats come to town.  Everyone's Super Bowl, record crowds every where we visit, etc etc.

Free everything please!!!!!!  I'm tired of working.

Or, instead of our taxes paying for thousands of nukes we will never use and bombing the crap out of cave-dwellers on the other side of the globe, we could spend our taxes on Americans and stop treating healthcare like it's a special privilege.  It's possible to go bankrupt as a result of medical issues even if you have health insurance - so much for the "Only the lazy unemployed bums want and would benefit from universal healthcare" talking point.

29
How many games over the last couple of years would we have lost without Arthur?  A lot of those close 2011 wins would have turned into losses (Baylor would have been a blowout) and some of the games we won comfortably in 2012 would have turned into coin-toss shootouts.  The ass-kickings would not have been as thorough and less satisfying due to closer scores.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Re: Small time Kansas
« on: August 21, 2013, 05:08:58 PM »
I will add that Kansas isn't so small time in one sense . . . no other school has more former athletic department employees in Federal Prison.   For running a ticket scalping/money laundering scheme so well, that not even the athletic director or anybody else knew anything about     .   You know you're good at cheating when the opening article (by a ku butt suck reporter no less) implicates former players in this scheme, people go to Federal Prison and the NCAA doesn't seem to really care.

UNC got absolutely nothing for running what was obviously a systemic program of academic fraud to get basketball players passing grades, and the NCAA ruled that it was an "institutional" problem, not an athletic department issue.

All which adds to the ongoing question . . . why aren't we cheating our butts off?   Oregon get a slap on the wrist for handing out thousands of dollars to recruit funnelers.   When the ruling came out, the entire panel on College Football Tonight was absolutely verklempt, and ESPN swings hard on Oregon's nuts.

Well, why aren't we cheating our butts off?  A couple of reasons come to mind.
    1.  A high-climber athletic director that wants a bigger and better job, and who has the perception that a clean program on his watch will get him up the ladder.
    2.  A history of NCAA, as you noted above, of being "hands off" with some programs, while bringing the hammer down on other.  K-State's risk is that we'd be treated like "the other" programs, and would get smacked pretty hard.

Maybe we need a poll to gauge the attitude on cheating on a larger scale, and more often.[/list]

For point #2, who cares.  I mean, I agree with your belief but I also think the reward greatly outweighs the risk.  Roll the dice and see what happens.  If we don't cheat while oscar is our coach, we'll be just as awful as if the NCAA carpet bombed us for rampant cheating.  At least if we cheated our asses off, we'd have a chance at some glory before getting mumped by the long dick of the NCAA.

3 and new Vegas ran perfect on my pc  :dunno:

I modded mine to hell and back, that had something to do with it.  It wasn't bad, but every once in awhile it would freeze or something would break.

Also, FO3 has some pretty notorious issues with Windows 7.  It was unplayable for awhile until it was eventually patched.

This says the PS4 is going to be the better console.  People who know, you say what about this?  Hemmy?  Saul?

    http://www.psu.com/a020650/PS4-has-huMA-Xbox-One-doesnt-3D-performance-way-better-apparently?utm_source=zergnet.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=zergnet_84989

PS4 is going to be more powerful/have better hardware than the XB1, but it won't mean much since the vast majority of games will be on both the PS4 and XB1.  That means they will have to be able to run on the XB1's inferior hardware so they will be designed with that in mind.

Doesn't that mean that they will run smoother on the ps4 tho?  Like less freezing and lagging?  That seems like a clear benefit.  Nothing ruins a good gaming sesh like a choppy game.

Publishers are lazy, cheap and stupid - they spend 90% of their budget on advertising and voice acting so instead of optimizing different versions of the same game to run better on different systems they're going to be made so they can run smoothly on XB1.  If something with inferior hardware can definitely run it without problems, so can the PS4.

Games that are exclusive to the PS4 should look better than games that are exclusive to the XB1, though.

My example would be Fallout New Vegas on ps3.  It ran like crap.  Freezing, lagging crap.  So if they made a game like that and it ran like crap on the xbox one, wouldn't it stand to reason that it might perform better on the ps4 or would it be equally shitty?

Fallout's an unusual game when it comes to how smooth it runs because it has issues on everything.  I've played 3 and FNV on 360, 3 on PS3 and 3 and FNV on PC.  All of them had their moments of lag and freezing, although the 360's issues were the worst.  In a massive open world game like that you definitely want to play it on the best hardware available, and next gen console-wise that would be PS4.  No guarantees for how smoothly Fallout 4 will play.  Bethesda just has problems getting their games to play cleanly.

Since they argue that fetuses are people too, I've always wondered if the "life begins at conception" crowd would be in favor of treating every pregnant woman like she is accompanied by another person.  I'm willing to bet they would be strongly against allowing a single pregnant woman to start claiming WIC and other benefits available to single mothers the day she finds out she is pregnant.

Call the real estate agency, pretend to be an interested buyer and ask for a tour.  They will either mow it before the tour or it will still look like crap and you can complain about how the yard just looks so terrible and you don't even want to go inside the house until it's been mowed.

They're the ones making the return trip, hold them to it.  Auburn isn't going to be elite unless they buy another Heisman winner, it's fun to play non-con games against teams that aren't North Central Who Gives A crap State and it's an early springboard for the 2014 KSU QB Heisman campaign.

Looking through the 2014 schedules, 40% of the Big 12 teams play an SEC team and I'd like to see EMAW do its part to help the league's perception.
    Tennessee @ Oklahoma
Alabama vs West Virginia in Atlanta (RIP Coal Aggie)
    Arkansas @ Texas Tech

Plus, I have a lot of relatives who are Auburn fans.  I want them to walk their ass into Manhattan, KS and see their team get stomped by the 2014 Big 12 champions.

I have absolutely no love for A-Roid or the Yankees, but it was bullshit Dempster wasn't tossed after hitting him.  I agree with whoever said that he should have just walked the bases and stared down Dempster after that homer.

Unless it's done as retaliation for one of your guys getting beaned, intentionally hitting a batter is a bush league move.  10x more for AL pitchers since they don't have to put their ass on the line.

If I ever hear anyone say we didn't get our money's worth on the cats, I will slap them in their mouth.

Looks like they really missed the opportunity to put a powercat on the Section signage.

What if they made a super VIP section that was just Section Powercat?  Obviously replace the Powercat text with a real picture.

I'm guessing the alternating use of red and blue words against a white background is some sort of patriotic mind control.

    ONLY the RED words:

    Quote
Constitution no religious Test shall ever be required
Motto E. Pluribus Unum changed it 174 years later
Pledge of Allegiance DID NOT INCLUDE “Under God”
    U.S didn’t issue Paper Currency until 1861
Red Scare in the 1950’s CHANGED
    FEAR COMMUNISM
When fear is traded like a commodity
SOCIALISM create the same fear COMMUNISM
    NOT NO ONE from MANY

    fear again

Jesus Christ I can just feel that message subliminally altering the way my brain works :runaway:

What is being spelled on on the darker color concrete? Are those donor names?

It looks like the names of all of the counties in Kansas.
    I like that idea, actually.

Or, Bush could have not started a BS war with Iraq if he really cared that much about dead soldiers and their moms.  Guess not playing golf makes him blameless.

Just STFU.  Trying to act like a bada$$ because of ticket sales is pathetic.  Seriously no other fan base in the conference would act tough over attendance because the rest of us have accomplished something on the field. Literally everybody but ISU has accomplished something in the last decade.  When are you going to accomplish something other than being dead weight for the Big 12?  You give no recruiting, no TV markets, no success on the field, our fans don't' care about playing you, etc...  You are not even worth 10 million on our TV contract so basically all you do in this conference is cash Big 12 welfare checks.  ISU road games have the least fan interest and the lowest attendance/cheapest ticket prices.  Seriously you bring nothing to this conference.

ISU sucks at everything and has never accomplished squat in FB.  Heisman's, BCS bowls, and conference championships are things you will never accomplish.

Yes you attendance is great but that is because there is nothing else do in Iowa.  Attendance does not equal success.  Success is determined on the field.

We charge more than you do for tickets.  Selling cheap tickets doesn't accomplish anything financially, just means more people pay less to watch you lose games. If you call that a win good for you.

More people watch you lose games than just about anybody else in the conference.  They even pay to sit on a grassy hillside to watch you lose.  Congrats, you finally found something you are good at.

Here is a recap of ISU football
Aren't $h!t, Were never $h!t, Never going to be $h!t.  Congrats, that's a great history!

He has a point, they literally contribute nothing to the conference.

They're an easy win (nice to have more than just KU for that) and they also made this happen.  Not much, but something.
