Going for two weeks at the beginning of September, and should hit the very beginning of food and wine festival.  Parks should be nearly dead.

Taking the kids is a blast when the parks are empty.

Holding out hope the one, true heir, Stannis Baratheon, is still out there somewhere.

I'd bet he's alive in the first episode.

54
It's Eugene.  He had his couple of moments in the episode building up his character, and he gave Rick the instructions for how to make bullets - there's no character arc left for him.

Just how bad were they expecting this years basketball team to be?  Nearly every post says that this years team overachieved with a 5-13 conference record.

8. His honesty when answering questions. Look it gets him in hot water in a year when he's not winning because it sounds like whining and like he's making excuses and no good coach does that. They don't. Huggins didn't. Neither did Martin or Kruger or Self or anyone...except Weber. He does it win or lose and everyone was okay with it when we won a Big XII championship, but if you lose, no one wants the truth if it isn't wrapped in a pretty package with a pretty bow. Weber is not pretty with the truth. Frank wasn't necessarily pretty with the truth either but he was tough in how he presented it. Weber isn't. He's just honest. I'm okay with that.

I have no idea what this means.

All of the other coaches listed are always brutally honest when their teams lost without the excuses about travel, the refs, the schedule makers.

Maggie would be an intriguing choice.  She has become somewhat a secondary character lately.  I mean, the not-a-doc doctor has become more prominent than Maggie lately.  Yet, she has been a main character long enough that it would make a big impact.  It's not going to happen, though.  RIP glenn.

It would solve the "what do we do with another baby" problem the show's about about have.

60
Is the problem lack of players able to create their own shot or lack of players who can shoot period?

Our 3 pt % in conference is pathetic.

If you crashed at mile 11, you likely outran your training.

How long was your training plan? What was your longest run? Weekly average?

Most of us enter our first half marathon woefully under trained and the training we did was at a higher than needed pace or effort.

What's an ideal amount of training mileage for a half?  The plan I'm following will be ~250 miles, over 13 weeks.
Is this your first half? Have your raced many 10k distances? Read my two previous posts. It takes time to get the base and learn your race pace. Your plan has plenty of miles in it.

First half.  I've run a couple of 10k races, but it's been a couple of years.  Did 13 today  -  slow, but I got the miles in.

I don't like watching cat games and hearing the broadcasters beginning to use "It's hard to win in / recruit to Manhattan" again.

64
We don't have guys who can shoot, but also refuse to work the ball inside or drive.

Quite the pickle.

Finally caught up on this thread --

I've run a few 5Ks in the past, and 2 10Ks.  Having never run more than 6.2 miles at once, I signed up for Jack Daniels Oak Barrel Half in April.  Supposedly you can buy one of the commemorative bottles and have it engraved with your time after the race, which is on the to-do list.  Following a slightly lengthened marathonrookie 10 week plan to get in shape, I've got a 12 mile run tomorrow.

What do you guys eat during a half - or is it even necessary?  I tried using Gatorade chews the past couple of long runs, and it went ok, but I'm not sure if it helped at all.

I guess I don't see any room for some kind of 6 game turnaround next year.   Has anyone in the last 4 years just grown leaps and bounds under oscar?

We could be .500 in the league next year and the big 12 could suck ass.

Is that improvement?

Winning 1 tourney game should be a minimum.

It's going to be good enough for a contract extension.

I think Budke playing big minutes every game hurts far more than the loss of Stokes when you're looking at the season as a whole.

I think this was the most frustrating sequence of the game:

Quote
16:37  Westicles missed Jumper. 42 - 40
16:37  Eric Davis Jr. Defensive Rebound. 42 - 40
16:32  Javan Felix missed Layup. 42 - 40
16:32  D.J. Johnson Defensive Rebound. 42 - 40
16:23  Claws missed Three Point Jumper. 42 - 40
16:23  Connor Lammert Defensive Rebound. 42 - 40
16:14  Connor Lammert made Three Point Jumper. Assisted by Isaiah Taylor. 45 - 40
15:51  The Flush missed Jumper. 45 - 40
15:51  Javan Felix Defensive Rebound. 45 - 40
15:40  Prince Ibeh made Layup. Assisted by Javan Felix. 47 - 40
15:23  D.J. Johnson missed Layup. 47 - 40
15:23  Hopper Offensive Rebound. 47 - 40
15:11  Foul on Prince Ibeh. 47 - 40
15:11  Official TV Timeout 47 - 40
15:00  Big Meat missed Jumper. 47 - 40
Texas bigs are in foul trouble, so Wes passes up a wide open Wade to take an out of rhythm 3/long 2.
Next possession, Wade decided to take an out of rhythm 3 to make up for the previous possession.
Then, just over a minute later, Ibeh picks up another foul.  Out of the timeout, Hurt decides it's a good time to take another long 2.

How much practice time today and tomorrow is going to be wasted practicing running to slap the students hands after the game rather than practicing shooting the basketball?

don't know where to put this but a gpc guy posted our ken pom offensive efficiency ratings and thought it's worth sharing

2002 - 146
2003 - 88
2004 - 143
2005 - 59
2006 - 129
2007 - 86
2008 - 20
2009 - 75
2010 - 14
2011 - 54
2012 - 58
2013 - 15
2014 - 129
2015 - 159
2016 - 138

I thought oscar was going to help us get those bunnies we weren't getting with Frank?

He was also supposed to fix the problem with inbounding the ball in a half court set.  Instead we're throwing the ball to 1/2 or 3/4 court to get it in.

71
It's incredible how bad this team is at 3s.  But then when you watch the games, they take a lot of guarded, off-balance, or fade away 3s because the shot clock is expiring.

Shocking that passing the ball back and forth between Edwards and Westicles with no movement doesn't open up better shots.

I wish Hurt was better at getting o-boards and working the post, but he's happy taking ill advised extremely long 2s
