Kansas State added another commitment to the 2013 recruiting class on Tuesday, as defensive tackle Chris Brown announced he intends to play for the Wildcats.

Brown was originally recruited by K-State in 2010 before attending Scottsdale (Ariz.) Community College. He committed to Washington State, but when the school fired its coaches and hired Mike Leach, Brown chose to sit out for a year.

He spent the past season working out with trainers to get ready for the 2013 season.

At 6-foot-4, 310 pounds, Brown would already be one of the biggest guys on the Wildcats’ roster, second only to freshman defensive lineman Xavier Gates, who is listed at 6-3, 312 pounds.

Brown, a Mesa, Ariz., native, picked the Wildcats over Arizona State and Iowa. Brown didn’t visit Iowa and told Rivals he was still leaning toward K-State after a visit to Arizona State.

In his final season at Scottsdale, Brown finished with 68 tackles, including 13 for loss and six sacks.

The Wildcats have 21 commits for the 2013 recruiting class with signing day quickly approaching on Feb. 5.

I put emotion into it because they're always 1st in the Big 12. But K-State fans who think it's a rivalry are kidding themselves.

I can agree with this. The only reason I give a crap about beating KU is because they are a good team year in and year out. This is always why I don't give an eff about them in football (they suck).

People that want to beat KU and put emotion in because they are from our same state and that it's a rivalry, are idiots. I think the fact that we are in the same state and KU fans like to talk crap adds fuel to the emotion. But if KU sucked the bram wouldn't have been rocking last night.

I am a secure dude, I just hate prick elitist. I guess I come from a nice family and I've never regarded anyone more special than another. Maybe it's from playing on the phog too much, but my hate is genuine and I want beems to know that. I like beems the poster, I hate beems the KU grad.

Not using words that offend some people en masse with television cameras looking on, is polite. I don't say "eff" out loud when there are children or older people around, because I don't want to offend. For the same reason, I no longer use the word "respect." Why offend someone for no reason? Just to be edgy?

Don't commit until you know we need it.  I'm counting 4 of us for sure traveling from KC, plus MIR once we're there to shuttle back & forth between camp and Ames.  Need to know Winters, Scott, nicname & maybe this Diesel character are getting to KC in time to ride with us.  And I probably left out others who dabbled in going but aren't locks yet.
