Just got word yesterday that one of my coworkers died over the weekend.  It was the second one in a year.  Both from natural causes, the first was an older gentleman (60's/70's) from a heart attack.  The most recent one was 47, for causes yet undetermined other than she died in her sleep.  Didn't know either one terribly well, just in passing.  Never had anyone I worked with die before these two.

Anyone else ever have a coworker die?

Fracking ridiculous.  I'd like to see them come out to any area lake and enforce it if it got that far.  The local wildlife officials would be standing right next to the rest of us with fishing pole in hand.

uk's record in "looking ahead" games (defined as the two games prior to the matchups) vs KSU and misery since the 02-03 season.

vs. KSU: 26-9 (.742), including 1-3 in the last 4 single games immediately prior to playing KSU.

vs mizzou: 30-5 (.857)--one game to be added later this week.

The squawks overall winning percentage in that time is .825.  Who do they look ahead to when playing? The stats say not their "rivals."

Kentucky has lost.

Its a long shot, not impossible, but what if...

Nova beats Cuse
Mich St beats Purdue
Duke loses @virginia or @Maryland
KSU beats misery and uk.

The Duke/MD and KSU/uk games are after the next pole.  How far would we jump if the others happen.  We'd pass Duke, Purdue, and Cuse for sure, I'd think.  But what about kentucky?  We're not better than them and they only would have 2 losses, but do you keep them at 2?  Would make things really interesting.  Could set up a shot at #1 Wednesday if we were to pass kentucky.

Voters wouldn't know where to go.  Like I say, its a longshot,  If 2 of those happen, I'd say our chances from bumping up from a 2 to a 1 go up significantly.  Beating uk and not making an early exit from the Phillips would be a must, though.

Had a friend of mine that got into a little rats nest like this some years back.  This was back in about 1995 when a lot of internet rules had not yet been hashed out.

He started a tribute site to the band Oasis, using several pictures of the band on the site.  Lots of other people did this kind of thing, too.  The band's recording label got all uppity and threatened lawsuits against the site owners, including my friend.

Where it really got weird was when he posted on his site that he was the leader of some fictional Oasis fansite group.  There really wasn't any such group, or if there was, he was the only member.  He just kind of posted it as a gag.  Some people didn't really see it as a gag.  They thought he was serious.  As a "leader," he started getting calls for interviews from places like KROQ (BIG Los Angeles rock station where several nationally syndicated shows are broadcast out of) and the BBC.  He he was, a 17 year old kid from the middle of Kansas, getting interviewed on international radio.

Long story short, the record label was just puffing smoke and didn't pursue any action.

I-70 is a huge mess out by Bonner.  50 car pileup on a bridge one way and another 25 car pileup the other direction a mile or so down the road.  K-7 exit is closed.  435 is closed at the Kansas River bridge, too.

Kansas State Football / Football season tickets for sale

Looking to strike a deal.  As there is no ticket board, I'll do this here.

I typically get football tickets, but this year I will be unable to attend many games, maybe none.  However, it took me three years to get seats near the rest of my group the first time and I don't want to do that again.

So, if anyone is interested, I would be willing to buy the tickets and sell them to someone else.  I will pay the Ahearn donation. The tickets are on the 5 yard line of the bowl end, in about the 8th row of the upper deck.  There is a pair of tickets.  Would rather sell as a pair, because its harder to sell singles.

Might also sell them a "4-pack" if agreeable.  That is, the first 4 home games--I have a better chance of making OSU and texas than the others.

PM if interested.  Would like to get this taken care of before the order form is due in a few weeks.
