Be careful what you ask for guys. There are eleven teams that spend less money than we do, most of them have better TV deals. Everyone assumes that whoever would buy the team would be willing to spend more money than David Glass. That may not be the case.
I don't necessarily want a new owner who will spend more money. I just want an owner who realizes he has key management people who need to be replaced. (DM and NY).
I am growing a joke mustache and it looks awful. I would take bids on whether I should keep it going until FattyFest.
I'll start it at $15. Like, the money goes to the fattyfund, right?
Of course.
is this a hipster facial hair contest or a white trash facial hair contest?
i was reading something on MLSsoccer.com, and holy crap, @CartierFor3 is a blogger there named Jason Saghini!

This reminds me that I need to give Gooch back the charger that he loaned me for the Chicago trip.
Stop trying to bang Mrs. Gooch!
Way to bring a thread to a screeching halt.
OK, but just to add a little input; just because you have sex with a woman doesn't mean you are disrespecting them. I mean every time I have sex with a gE poster, I feel like I am being respected.
Old Timey Sports Logos (And Other Vintage Regalia) Thread
Are we seriously just gonna gloss over that hilarious cartoony Michigan State guy, you guys?
fuckity, eff, eff, you guys.
Hos has pretty much zero power and overextends his leg and has been for a long time, still hasn't fixed it. Alcides isn't really something to build around. Salvy is pretty much our only completely solid piece imo. We should trade Shields for prospects, draft a power bat like Jacob Gatewood, then rebuild the farm with non-Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) philosophies.yeah. time to really BID the eff out of this thing.
trade shields, holland, billy, alex, vargas and omar. let's just see how crazy we can get okay fellas.
woah woah easy big fella. we're not trading Vargas, he's on a 4 year deal. Holland is really the only other legit candidate IMO who would bring back much of value. If someone wants Billy I'd be shocked.
i don't care about getting anyone back for vargas. i just want his bad bloated contract off the books, vargas beyond this year will probably not be fun to watch. billy... just give us back a decent fungo bat and i'll do naked cartwheels up and down the plaza
Bud 2014 is over. But there's still some pieces in place.....
yeah. salvy and alcides and hos. that's it. relief pitchers? who gives an eff. duffy is a maybe and everyone else is down on the farm.
BID
hos had pretty great power when he came up. i wanna punch whoever effed him up. like really hard. like really sock em one.
alcides is league average and affordable for a while. will take or whatever.
salvy is our best player. agreed.
Ned ruined Hos with his game of hitting coach roulette
Yeah, firing a pretty decent hitting coach, just to try and get one guy going was about as bad a move as I've seen. The subsequent clusterfuck has been very frustrating.
69scat must have already been taken.
If Yordano needs TJ, I will give up.
veterans from the post-draft era do not deserve to be kowtowed to. service is not compulsory any longer.
Did a little research tonight. Coming into this season, Ned had managed in the bigs for 10 seasons. One would think he'd done something right to have that kind of tenure.
In 6 seasons with Milwaukee, he had two winning seasons, although he was fired in the last with his club in the hunt for the playoffs in mid-September. (David Glass: HELLO?? Why fire a guy who has you in contention? RED FLAG?). Had they lost their remaining games, the Brew Crew would still have finished above .500, so Ned gets creds for a winning season.
Before 2014, Ned had managed the KCR's most of five seasons so far, 2014 included. He took over for Trey early in 2010 and went 55-72 the rest of the way. He had a winning season in 2013 (his only winner with the Royals) and is a game under .500 this season.
When Dayton (another problem) brought George Brett back last season as a hitting coach, he also said he brought him back to "rescue us mentally" (per Mellinger recently in The Star). That should have been Ned's job...and the players praised George not only for teaching his approach to hitting, but also for the fact that he brought a winner's and champion's attitude into the dugout and clubhouse. (Implication: Ned did neither).
Ned seems like a nice guy. But, this team needs something more than Ned Yost.
I don't think Ned really seems all that nice
