Essentially Flyertalk / Re: Bars in the 'Ville

I've never had a problem with soldiers trying to fight me or causing problems.  Then again, I never spent a lot of time at Last Chance or Silverados/Bushwackers.  The soldiers that hang out in most decent establishment seem to blend in pretty well with everyone else imo.

I imagine that the ones who frequent places like Tubby's and Kite's dance areas can be pretty bad, but generally people who enjoy spend a lot of time in "club" type bars are pretty douchey anyway.

Neither of these teams have much of a shot against the Cats.  Their chances for mistakes and turnovers is too high.  Also, no way they even sniff slowing down the EMAW running game.

dude he went 45/51 today for 656. 8 td, 0 int

Not many turnovers today

He might as well of been throwing against 11 life-sized cutouts of this thing  :bill:.

K well he rough ridin' never turns the ball over so, not sure why you said that in your original statement.

They turned the ball over 22 times last season, by comparison K-State only had 15.  The guy is good, but they have only played one defense with a pulse.

 @ WVU and BU.  I hope some of you bet the over!!!   :kstategrad:

We'll see a decent amount about UT tonight, but I really don't think WVU is leaving UT with a win.

As if this game couldn't get any more fun, PETROS!!!!!!!!

 :dubious:

You don't like Petros?  Papadakis is the man.

No, I love Petros.  I already mentioned him in the thread. I was pretty excited when minor-league baseball ended a few weeks ago because Petros and Money didn't get preempted for AA baseball.

Oh, look another TD.  Also, sorry for the Luking

I think it is pretty adorable.

You're a cool dude, ED!

Are you guys pretty interested to see how things shake out in the conference tomorrow?  I know I am.

#25 Baylor @ #9 West Virginia (NOON on FX) - What a potential shootout!  Is Baylor for real?  Is WVU overrated?  Do I take the over (83)?

Texas Tech @ Iowa State (7 p.m. ?TV) - I hope I can find this game on TV or the internet somewhere.  Iowa State is always worrisome being a rival and all.  Tech has been impressing people so far, the ED has then at No. 1 if I'm not mistaken.  Very interesting match-up between two under-the-radar teams!

#12 Texas @ Oklahoma State (7:50 p.m. on FOX) - 'Poke fans don't get to use their paddles?  I can't wait to get a good look at the UT defense.  What about David Ash? The Cowboys still have some firepower offensively.  I think this game could also be a shoot-out in a roundabout way!

Anyway, I hope we can all kick back our feet and get a good look at our conference foes with our 'Cats being off this week.

I hope you take this as a compliment _Fan, but when I read these I always imagine I'm listening to Chris Mortensen dissecting the play for those old ESPN shows.

Kansas State Football / Re: Favorite KSU Cat QB That never was
« on: September 25, 2012, 11:11:56 AM »
Cody Lee Smith will forever be my favorite KSU football recruit. The myths and legends of his ability grew to historic heights.

Yeah.  I was in town that summer and he was glorious...

END OF MOTHERFUCKING THREAD.

Smith was before my time, but holy crap this guy and his sickness must have been quite a sensation.

Still, if Snyds had gotten Smith he never would have been forced to play a guy like Miller, and therefore probably never would have developed a liking for the dual-threat qbs that we have come to enjoy so much.

Kansas State Football / Re: The old man is urgent, time is quickly fading
« on: September 25, 2012, 05:52:30 AM »
Bill thinks highly of himself, he knows his time is drawing near.  Calm the waters my ass.  I sense this heightened urgency in him that he knows he has one last shot at putting the icing on his cake. It was never about rebuilding the program, it's a quest for the ultimate closure, a national title.  Best offense in a decade, maybe ever. The effort he puts into this season may be the beginning of his end. To think this could be ended by rhoads, briles, gundy or holgerson is folly.  Bill wants Mack and then Saban to cement his legacy.

Rofl. Just awful.

No, Bill hated seeing what he put his legacy on just be destroyed by Ron Prince. His return wasn't anything about a quest.

2002 and 2003 were better (in your last decade). 97, 98, 99 and 2000 were better. The entire offenses and defenses we're better those years, sometimes much better.

This team has an incredible amount of resolve though that those teams didn't have to this level.

You'll be surprised how the NFL talent on this team compares to the talent on the teams you mentioned.

I think it would be great if one of our current talented vid makers would update "the birth" to include the last couple of seasons' highlights.

True Story:

In 2004, when we lost to KU for the first time in 13 years in football, I was with Catzacker in Lawrence at the game.  At the end of the game, he just looks over at me and says "Well, Jim Wooldridge just got fired."

He was essentially correct...the fan base immediately turned it sights to basketball, and became enraged at the idea (overnight) of not being competitive in basketball...AND Tim Weiser TRIED to fire Wooly that Spring, but Weefs stepped in and prevented it.  A year later, he was fired.

I was there too.  It was a feeling like nothing I'd ever experienced.  I was literally sick to my stomach watching their celebration.  I was in a sickening, bizarre daze.  Just a terrible feeling.

OKLAHOMA HAD SOME UNFORUTNATE MISCUES OR ELSE THEY WULDA SMOKED THE WILDCATS -- JESUS CHRIST YOU KIDS IS HOMERS !!!

This is a emaw fan site dumbass, of course we are homers.

Each in our own unique way.

BTW, I grew up looking past KU.  IMO, it is the way that life should be for Cat football fans.  Look ahead to bigger and better things, enjoy the annual thrashing, then move on to bigger and better things.

Pete,

while I appreciate your Expectation to Win (Goal #13) and Enthusiasm (Goal #8), you need to show more Self Discipline (Goal #6) and provide some Leadership (Goal #15) and remember that part of Consistency (Goal #14) is taking it one game at a time.  Just keep sawing wood.

Thanks,

Catzacker

For the younger guys on the board, this is how it's done.

yeah, only a select few can come up with something like that.

I'm just along for the ride.  I'm going to cherish this season for all it's worth.  We all know how quickly it can vanish, and this year's group is cut unlike any other we've had so far.  I don't want to put expectations on this team, but I can confidently say that we are legitimate national title contenders.  Which is something we haven't been able to say for a long time.

I'm definitely looking past KU, like way past them.  It feels weird knowing that the Cats' first "real" game is almost three weeks away.

I bet we beat those 'Hawks by way more than 30 and probably have our better players resting midway through the third.

I guess I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of #life that game.
