Oh you really should have read the next part. As much as I hate Getz, I hate Johnson even worse. Gordon's will not and should not be playing 3rd anytime soon and Carroll and Bonifacio may not be much but I'll take them over Getz and Johnson (if only it was a either/or... sigh).

Yea he pitched in that 13-0 game. If I remember right he was the only Minny pitcher who didn't allow a hit.

Yep, bring him in, hope he can provide that same spark Miggy has been. At worst he's no worse than Getz and Johnson. (Hopefully) all he costs is cash, maybe a C level prospect.

Not to Phys: E. Johnson is not in a slump.  He simply is not a MLB caliber hitter. 

Props to Hud for calling it out.

Johnson needs to go. Worst part of the Shields trade. Getting Shields and Davis where understandable but surely they could have got a ptbnl better than an older version of most the the MI in the Royals system

I agree, j-dub. To me, Duffy is the choice. I said the Duffy vs. Davis decision would be interesting because Dayton doesn't always make choices based on logic.

I'm hoping they piggyback them. It's obvious Duffy's not going to have too many complete games so have Davis in the pen ready to go when he only goes 3 or 4 innings

We are lucky to be up right now. I've seen little leaguers with a better curveball than Duffy had tonight. Good news is he did show his ability to strike people out.

His curve showed flashes. A couple if them would've buckled most any hitter in the league. Others where just plain terrible. It really was a decent start for his first back.

Billy Butler's inate ability to destroy a rally by fisting a chopper to the left side of the infield is a very frustrating thing about the royals

Pretty amazing that Hosmer and Moose's hot hitting have pretty much directly coincided with Butler and Gordon sucking balls and taint.

Yea but I was thinking it before I even saw his post. This is why the Royals will never win the WS (or come close) with the current brain trust. If the value of Frenchy was so little that you basically pay him to go away, why go out a give up a decent prospect for a similar player? This move reeks of "we wanted to do something bigger but nothing worked out so we did something to make it look like we did something".


Even if Cain is going to be out for awhile, if they weren't going to get a 2B then stay pat, be creative (I bet Kottaras could play OF in a pinch, and Hoz and Elliot both have at least a minimal amout of OF experiance). Then keep Smith and use him to shop this winter when they have a better idea of whether Duffy and Paulino can make it all they way back, whether Santana is sticking around, and if Ventura and Zimmer are ML ready or to still improve that gaping black hole at 2B.

Also, Escobar cannot be in the two hole any longer.  Order should either be Dyson Gordo Butler Hos Salvy or Gordo Butler Hos/Salvy(Either one, interchangeable.

Yost has a hard-on for esky in the 2 hole for some reason. When they moved him down where he needed to be for awhile it worked well but now he's back.

And in no way should dyson be the regular lead off man. He's no better at the top of the order than esky. If moose continues hitting decent the top 5 in the order should be Gordon, Butler, Hoz, Moose, and Salvy in any order.

Surprised that episode was this week.   What will the cliff hanger be?

Loved the twitter blowup of the non book readers. They seem to like to put the big plot twist before the final episode (wasn't Ned's beheading the next to last episode of s1?) and not really a cliffhanger at the end.
