I think safety is a much bigger need and if the Chiefs spend FA money in the secondary that's where they need to do it. Unless they can sign one of those guys for super cheap I think the better gameplan at CB is roll with what you have (except Dunta, he needs to be and probably will be cut) and hope that Flowers, Smith and Cooper have better seasons next year after improving at FS. If they happen to find a ditr in the draft or a stud who drops go ahead and try to improve that way.

Do not want.

nope, don't want

Oh man, that south would get so much play in the local media. KU the 1 with Wichita St the 2. Creighton in there, Wichita St. 1st game with the team that opened up the season knocking off KState, then a possible 2nd round rematch with Gonzaga

 :runaway:

I'd love to be a 7/10 going against Wichita in round 2 (3, whatever it is). If we beat them we'd be like "Yeah punk, you dorks are so small time" and if they beat us we'd be like "Meh, football school"

I want off the 8/9 line bad this year. All of the current 1's would be in us balls deep halfway through the first half, we might stand a chance against some of the 2s

yeah i don't know what you guys are seeing in that mugshot, but that's not a genuine smile.  he's hiding some sadness or embarrassment or something behind those eyes.
What he's not doing a good job of hiding is his acne, :sdeek:

The Olympics are so *insert nation*-O.... It's fantastic

The good news this year is that preseason rankings mean much less than they ever have before. Win the Big 12, we'll have a shot at the NC.

Not to be a killjoy but I doubt we would have been picked in '12, Baylor certainly wouldn't have been picked in '13 and OSU wasn't a certainty in '11
This could very well be fact.
Since there's going to be two SEC teams every year, the other 4 conf champs will have to battle it out for two spots

My favorite Bob Davis moments are when some pud out of conference opponent plays KU close. They inevitably become locks to win their league and potential Cindarellas in the tourney.

Any good recommendations on dealing with shin splints? Pretty similar situation here to what j-dub described but every time I try to run I get horrible shin splints. Like its hurts to walk for several days bad. This happened back in October and so I stopped and went to elliptical for "running" until last week and they came back just as bad the first time I ran.

Lol, I have a ton of KU and OSU fans on Facebook and Twitter. This game is a gold mine.

Tied for the fastest. Tenth highest vertical. And he's 6'3".

Yea from what you guys said about the usual results of 2nd round picks, a big, athletic forward seems like the type to take a flyer on

Quote
What Scouts Say: "He's a special kind of kid who can do some things that no one else on the field will be able to do … He's big, strong, powerful and then has legitimate track-athlete type of speed - he runs a 4.4 40-yard dash - for a guy that's 200 pounds … He has the build you would look for in a No. 9, plus pace, and he has a high comfort level with the ball … Where he struggles is his understanding of his team and tactics … He's sometimes more comfortable 1 v. 3 than 3 v. 1 … He jumps well and has good size but does not have great timing … Has great talent to bang and hold the ball up and also run in behind defenses, but he can be frustrating."

For those those of you with a more in depth knowledge of mls what quality of player are we looking at getting here? Is this like nfl 2nd round where you expect them to make the club and eventually be at least solid contributors or more nba where it's a good pick if they ride the pine for 2 years then disappear into D-league oblivion?

that guy is not doing himself any favors :sdeek:

They talked about it on TV. Said he owns it and loves it. His gf is also okay with it. :flush:

I bet his gf is losery and smells like cheese

This guy was just drafted. :sdeek:
Need confirmation if that's a ginger mullet

Also is there some kind of requirement every pick gets traded? I mean 14/19

Can someone more itk tell me what type of player Edwards is supposed to be? Was he doing most of his scoring at Maine as a shooter or of the dribble, or a combo?

IMO having someone else who can consistently hit his open looks is probably the 2nd biggest need of this team besides interior size.

Let's cut to the chase:  How would Will answer the question of why he starts?   :dunno:

Squeaky

Yes, obviously I meant skilled with the puck, but I do take exception to him being weak defensively. He's an average defender that doesn't get credit for even that because of his offensive skill and creativity. I do agree that they will call Johnson up if necessary, he was after all the last cut. However, I think both of the Pittsburgh defensemen will play considering they still have over a month.

My biggest problem with excluding Ryan & Yandle is that they spewed some bs about needing playmakers. All of this being said we've yet to discuss their worst decision and it was including Jimmy Howard. He has been absolutely horrific,  Ben Bishop and a dozen other guys should be furious.

Cheering for Sweden is easy for me, I spend the entire season cheering for OEL so why would I stop now? I have no rooting ties to team USA, fact is there are a lot of players on that roster I don't like. I'd cheer for Canada if Shane Doan didn't get rocky mountain spotted fever. I'm pretty sure they will pick Mike Smith but I'm equally sure he won't play.

He's average defensively for all of hockey, but when discussing elite, Olympic caliber hockey he's bad. I would be extremely scared to see him have to play regular defensive shifts against Canada or Russia.

I also wouldn't say not including Ryan shows they weren't looking for playmakers. He's a quality finisher but I'll take most of the guys that made roster if I want a play made.

Completely agree on Howard. I really hope he doesn't have play.

I've got a big rooting interest in team USA with Backes, Oshie, and Shattenkirk all making it but there's a pretty good chance there could be 5+ more Blues in the Olympics. Pietrangelo, Bouwmeester, Steen, Berglung, Sobotka, Polak, Halak, and Tarasenko are all possibilities so I'm going to have someone to cheer for about every game of the tournament.

Is this where we talk about the Olympic roster? Other than Stepan and Howard I'm pretty happy with the roster. Would've liked Bobby Ryan too but I can see why he was left off.

Keith Yandle was royally mumped. The highest scoring American defenseman the last 5 years. Brooks Orpik, wtf? The Penguins GM and head coach a part of the process and two penguins defenders were seleted who habe spent the better part of the winter hurt. Also eff Brian Burke

http://espn.go.com/olympics/hockey/story/_/id/10195703/how-us-hockey-team-bound-sochi-olympics-was-named

I sincerely hope the Americans lose and give up a ton of goals doing so, what a horrific way to compose a team. I will be cheering for Oliver Ekman-Larsson and team Sweeden.

Jack Johnson was the biggest snub in my opinion. and yeah, the penguins thing is very wtf. ill still root for team USA.

Jack Johnson only has 11 points and a +/- of -12. If they were looking for stay home defensemen they could do and did better than Jack Johnson. Keith Yandle is without a doubt the best American scoring defender. We don't have the most skilled forwards one would guess they would pick the most skilled defenseman available.

I'm assuming you're implying most skilled offensively because Yandle's actual defense is pretty weak. I still would have put him on the team if I was choosing, but for all around skill most if the others they choose are better. If they where going to try and build a team that could just out score everyone Yandle and Ryan are must haves. But it's pretty evident that the committee believed (and I agree) that the current group of American players can't hang with Canada and most of the top European teams in a shoot out style. They needed to build a team that can control the puck and grind out low scoring wins. Just like with Ryan I would like Yandle on the team, but neither really meshes with that style of play and I understand why they where left off. My hope would be if (when) Martin or Orpik is ruled out with an injury Yandle is next up, but my gut says it will be Johnson.

NFL.com's Ian Ropoport reports Oklahoma's Bob Stoops is one of the top two candidates for the Browns' head coach opening.

Rapoport adds the team is very interested in Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase, but they would have to wait to interview him. The other choice is Josh McDaniels. Cleveland is apparently intrigued with Stoops because of his managerial style and ability to build a solid staff.
