Not might. Will.
goEMAW & joda got a shout out on Scott Wildcat’s podcast around the 18:00 Mark

I was wrong about Cincy...they used to play Louisville for something called the "Keg of Nails"

Yea, Louisville and Cincy have been rivals for a long time through multiple conferences. Even if they weren’t the close proximity would probably make it a rivalry quick if they joined up.

6 of the 13 are expected to be defensive players. Now they’re all CB/S/Coverage LB types so I’d like a couple bigger boys in there too

Building and OL to rival the 99-2003 beefcake years with a stable of backs and QB talent behind it.

Between last year’s OL signings and this year’s commits we have 5 OL with the younger Beebe the shortest at 6’3” and all 5 being at least 260 in their recruiting profile. I love that there’s a definite pattern appearing to our offensive recruiting and what that pattern could lead to.

Had offers from ASU, Wazzu, Oregon St, and Colorado.

Also interesting that 247 now has all our commits rated as at least 3*

Martina McBride, LeAnn Rimes, and the Queen of 90s country Reba have also not been mentioned yet. Plenty of major male singers/bands not mentioned yet either. I could post about 50 pages worth of great 90s country songs and still not have listed them all.

Yea, just cause Klein was a battering ram QB doesn’t mean that’s what his offense will be. Our last 2 QB recruits are PM15 style QBs and we’ve been super heavy on offensive skill position players with versatility. I’d be shocked if we’re not getting stylist comparisons to the Chiefs offense in a few years.

I will fight anyone who doesn’t think early Tim McGraw was the best Tim McGraw

This thread needs more of the amazing female voices of 90s country

Oh man, this thread really takes me back to rummaging through the cassettes at Walmart trying to decide which one to spend my allowance on (remember when Walmarts electronics section was in the middle of the store and partitioned off?). Elementary Joda thought his cassette collection of 90’s country was pretty epic.

Anyway, here’s my pick for the most underrated Garth Brooks song oat

would be a very smart move for our friends in Lawrence

KU going to the Big East and eventually WuShocking their football program would be the Cats’ meow.

KU and Wichita St going to the Big East together as regional rivals would be amaze-balls

Relegation can't work because the athletic departments have to schedule years in advance, plus there are other sports than football.

Both reasons I say it would never happen, but while we’re in fantasy land:

Scheduling could be set by a very predictable method, similar to how the NFL does it.

Other sports, since we’re now essentially in 2 40 team super conferences would just be regionalized. If these 80 teams have completely broken away from the NCAA you have 8 10 team regional conferences. Too 4 from each conference make the tournament for a 32 team bracket. If not a broken away, still have your 8 conferences but postseason literally handled just the same way it is now.

Will absolutely never happen, but this move probably sets up a scenario for a pro/rel system in major college football better than any point in recent history. Round up the SEC and B10 to 20 teams each, then the leftovers of the other 3 conferences move deck chairs and add enough teams to make 2 more 20 team conferences ACC <=> SEC, Big12<=>B10. Conference champ of B10 and SEC play for the Natty, 2v2, 3v3… play in bowl games (satisfies those that want to keep them) and then some form of game between the top teams in the lower conference vs bottom team in the bigger conference for pro/rel.

Never happening but a fun little scenario to think about

Plus Edwards and Joe Jackson/ John Randle out of the backfield or in the slot

Don’t forget about Anciaux. 6’6” and held offers from KU, ISU, Nub, Cal, Minn, and Sparty

Seems like the type of guy who won’t be a star, but can be a really nice contributor who becomes a fan favorite in his one season (like a basketball sauce boss).

It’s looking like this year, at least, won’t be as much about DUDES, and more about JYC’s v2.0. We’ll see what the play style is, but I’d be ok with a scrappy, high energy team that finishes middle of the pack in the B12

man if we were actually UKS, i feel like we'd get hit with "sUKS" a lot.  smart branding by the folks over in anderson hall.

Being the first land grant comes with it's challenges, and the nailed the naming

Imagine if those early EMAWs would’ve gone with The State University of Kansas (SUK). Major props to them for seeing that potential pitfall

Do you think shoeless Joe Jackson is a back up plan in case we don’t get Randall? Joe Jackson is visiting on his own dime, I don’t think this is an official visit.

They may be looking at him more as a WR.  Thad is his primary recruiter and most of his highlights are at WR even though I know he plays both and Brian Anderson is his secondary recruiter.  This is his second unofficial visit.  The first was with his parents in April.

How many WR’s we taking for 2023?  I think we have a realistic shot at 4* manning and 4* Lane.  We already have Davis committed.

Considering what the WR & RB groups may look like when these guys actually step on campus? I’ll take as many high end guys as want to commit.

Right now, according to 247, our 6 commits have a combined 18 other P5 offers. There’s been a few classes that I’m not sure there were 18 P5 offers to the entire final class. And Beebe probably would have a few if he wasn’t full force EMAW from the beginning.

Edwards has 18 by himself (19 if you go ahead and count Houston)

I wasn’t counting ours, but may have missed someone

He has 20 counting Houston on 247

Got a Kennedale kid, nice! They’ve churned out some nice players, especially on the defensive side of the ball
