except for the ocassional new college grad interview.

Quote from: This thread
College graduates without career jobs lined up

I didn't convey my message properly.  We had more college grads show up in sportcoats/no tie than we did in suits.  It didn't matter if you wore a suit or not.  No one cared in our industry.

I feel less rich at EMAW events because everyone else is rich too and some even richer.  One of the reasons I moved to Nebraska.  So I can be the richest.

Same here in Oklahoma.  The only problem is I don't appear to be the richest because everyone down here has $50,000 in credit card debt and is living paycheck-to-paycheck while spending 50% of their income on boats and trying to buy the biggest lawn mower for their 9,000 sqft yard.

Also, don't wear a suit unless they tell you. <<<< IMPORTANT!

the real world is much more casual than i expected

Hemmy wouldn't make it past the reception desk here.

Depends on the industry.  I worked in the aerospace/business jet manufacturing industry for 5 years and I never saw a tie except for the ocassional new college grad interview.

healthy dose of summer time EMAW tonight, flipping between Sean on ABC and Kynard on NBC Sports

 :ksu:

Did you hear the announcer say that Erik has an A Qualifying Standard and is already going to London?

i did hear that. was not aware he had already made it.

Cut it out guys

Sorry, I wasn't thinking when I posted this.  Mods, please delete this tangent.  I don't want Sean to read this and think I was disrespectful.

I never should have said anything over there.  Fitz trying to defend his tweets by saying it was about a few pieces of paper taped to his window, which would take 12 seconds to take down, and that warrented his tweets just touched a nerve with me.

I was in Manhattan and planning on coming, but the combo of a sudden family issue and me developing the flu kept me from being able to attend.  I just now got back out of bed.  Really, really bummed I missed it.

So a fund raiser for dprocket gets pinned to the top of his message board, but an event in memorial of a deceased friend in which the funds go to his memorial fund is pathetic. I always knew Fitz was a creep, but he really is a piece of crap human being.

There's not much substance to a 757. I've seen 20 women pull a 757 50 feet in minute. Remember that the two aircraft that hit the two towers did very little damage on the impact alone.

Edit: I re-read this and it didn't sound right. I'm saying why I think it didn't look like much damaged at the Pentagon. I'm not saying "look at how little damage was done and the towers still fell." I know the jet fuel fires coupled with the fire-retardent foam being knock off the beams caused the towers to fall.

here's the thing, though.  if i was taking a really long vacation, i would be traveling around a lot and seeing lots of different crap.  just hanging out in a beach house for weeks and weeks, for example, seems like it would get boring.  10 days at the same ski resort?  that can't be exciting at all after like the third day, can it?  you don't have to go anywhere to sleep late and take it easy all day.  if i go somewhere on vacation, i want to hit it hard.  right, guys?

Two "hit it hard" and two relaxing per year.

lol.  Texas is such a boss, making TTech play on their network.

The same thing is going to happen to us in 2015.

I'd love to play on the LHN.  Beats the crap out of FCS.

I agree it's not a bad thing, but expect for 90% of KSU fans to reach epic butthurt level when it happens.

(Not that I really care, it wouldn't be on TV otherwise)

If you come across someone with triplets celebrating their 21st burthday, stop me and say hi.

every possible scenario allows ND to stay independant.  at no time was it ever even a remote possibility that there was going to be a playoff that blocked teams without a conference from participating.

There was always a possibility that the big 10 and PAC-12 would demand conference champions.  And that they would demand that the Rose Bowl played a big part in this.

There is still that possibility, but it seems pretty slim after yesterday's announcements.  I still have a faint bit of hope.

Why would they do this now?  It's not like all the presidents are getting together next week.  It's just one from each conference.  Why would those conference presidents give their commissioners the leway in negotiations yesterday to not demand conference champs only, but then tell their single president representative to demand conference champs only next week?

OKC fans are a bunch of dorks.

So. Freaking. True.
They just don't know how to act yet...rather have the dorks than the OB creeps at nfl games. give em a few years and they'll learn how to "act like they've been there"

Someone in Oklahoma re-did a LMFAO song with Thunder-NBA Finals themed lyrics.  The quality is terrible.  It sounds like some semi-skilled karaoke singer made the lyrics up on the spot and someone recorded it with their iphone.  They are playing it nonstop on Tulsa radio.  OKC fans are a bunch of dorks.

lol at caring about a coach's thoughts on realignment.

I guess Dabo missed the episodes of Friday Night Lights where split Dillon in two, then later close down East Dillon.

Don't you love how the black part of Dillon didn't exist until the third season when they needed a new storyline? Also, LOL @ the Landry murder story arc. V. weird.

Man, I forgot how bad season 2 sucked.

The Landry murder story was originally planned for season 1.   :sdeek:

2002?

Maybe we never played.  I graduated in 2002, played jv 1999 & 2000, and played varsity 2001 & 2002.

Lefty partnered w/ a lefty?

 :runaway: :runaway: :runaway: :runaway: :runaway:

Not a lefty partnered with a lefty.  For some reason I thought you played some #2 doubles (edit: did some research, found out WonderMeal mentioned it in his 1st post).  IIRC, the #1 doubles team who was a year below me may have been 2 lefties.  Also, the #2 doubles team after I left may have been 2 lefties.
