Essentially Flyertalk / Seasonings
« on: August 30, 2018, 09:03:08 AM »
I just wanted to talk about seasonings for a second.  I love seasonings.  I love the taste of seasonings (on food obviously, by themselves they taste gross for some reason) but I also love the act of seasoning.  It can make you feel like a fancy chef if you sprinkle it on with your fingers.

In case you don't know, a seasoning is a mixture of several spices, and other flavoring components.  My favorite seasoning right now is Montreal Steak Seasoning.  What a seasoning.  It tastes good on just about every kind of meat or vegetable.  I even put it on eggs the other day!

What seasonings do you like?

Essentially Flyertalk / Roku Streaming Stick vs Apple TV
« on: December 04, 2017, 02:48:22 PM »
Which one should I get?  Apple TV is way more expensive and I'm not sure why so someone please explain it to me.  I'm leaning Roku Streaming Stick.  Using mostly for Hulu, Netflix, WatchESPN.  Also I don't care about 4K.  My old ass eyeballs can only handle so many pixels.  I looked at some old threads but they were from 2014 so things have probably changed a lot?

Essentially Flyertalk / MORAL DILEMMA
« on: October 03, 2017, 03:31:01 PM »
I recently registered a MyTimeRewards card to use at my local BreakTime convenience store. It's one of those cards where you earn points with every purchase towards free stuff. I often purchase 32oz beverages there but little else.  So the first time I swiped it said I qualified for a free drink.  Sweet!  I thought it was probably because it was my first purchase after registering.  Then it happened the 2nd time, and just today the 3rd time.  I think there is a glitch that is giving me free drinks every swipe.  I haven't purchased anything else in between.  Should I --

1)  Say nothing. Free drinks forever.  Just take a second and think about that.  It's basically like having a fairy that just gives you $1.29 whenever you are thirsty.  Wow, pretty cool.

2)  Speak up.  Correct the glitch.  Pay for your drinks, but drink them with a clear conscience as a man of integrity.

The New Joe Montgomery Birther Pit / RIP Moderatism
« on: November 12, 2016, 12:23:16 PM »
Killed by extreme liberalism and conservatism alike.  Remember when the US invaded Afghanistan and Iraq and many claimed that by doing so we were actually creating more terrorists than we were killing.  The idea was that we were actually radicalizing the middle east as we attempted to combat radicalization in the middle east.  Well now that's happening in American politics.  Both sides are dehumanizing the other with terrible insults and in doing so pushing more and more people out of the middle and onto the extremes.  If only everyone would shut up and calm down.  Sucks that it won't happen.

The New Joe Montgomery Birther Pit / Being President
« on: October 10, 2016, 11:52:19 AM »
Why is there so much importance on whether or not someone is "qualified" to be president?  Basically if you just have common sense and are a decent public speaker you are qualified.  I mean what else does the president even do?  It's not like you need some particular set of skills.

Essentially Flyertalk / Wolf Spider Stories from _33 (and others)
« on: August 25, 2016, 09:29:54 AM »
I once lived in a basement apartment on moro.  One time I was going to the bathroom in the middle of the night and a wolf spider crawled onto my bare foot.  :horrorsurprise:

BTW, lets please keep this thread to only wolf spiders.  If you have a story about another type of spider please start another thread.

Essentially Flyertalk / Tee ball grievances
« on: May 19, 2016, 07:03:14 PM »
Everyone has their own helmet. Many with face masks. When I was a kid the coach had a big green canvas bag and dumped all the helmets on the ground before the game/practice. And then you tried to get the one that still had some padding left. Also, why do they even need helmets? Also bats. Everyone has their own bat. Im not buying an expensive bat for my 5 year old so those other little derp 5 yr olds can hit it against everything hard in the dugout. Would anyone else like to air some grievances about youth sports in general? Teaser: my next one is about Gatorade.

Essentially Flyertalk / Living In The Country (Rural Area)
« on: February 24, 2016, 08:01:45 AM »
I think I want to do this.  I just want some space, some land.  I have really nice neighbors but I don't want neighbors that are right there all the time.  But I'd like to live in a rural area that is close to a city so that I am still relatively close to all the conveniences.  Where should I live?

Since apparently a continual downward spiral, mass player defections, past history of getting worse and worse at previous program, zero NCAA tournament wins, 2 straight seasons missing the NCAA tournament, a squeeky voice, annoying/awkward demeanor, 3-8 conference record, killing the OOD, and being a boring loser aren't enough to fire someone I think we should brainstorm some ideas.

I watched a few minutes of the game last night and now I care again and am mad and now my mission should I choose to accept it which I did is to get oscar Weber fired.

You can list your ideas below.

Probably knock a bad guy off of his motorcycle with my car door.  Like he's coming up super fast from behind and I slam on the brakes and open the door as he tries to zoom by and he hits the door and flies over the handle bars.

« on: October 06, 2015, 11:56:22 AM »
At work I have a specific Glade® PlugIns® scent for each month.  Something that I think captures the essence of the month.  January is hard.  I usually choose Clean Linen to symbolize a clean, fresh start and a new year.  Enjoy.

January - Clean Linen
February - Cashmere Woods
March - Fresh Mountain Morning
April - Rainshower
May - Red Honeysuckle Nectar
June - Hawaiian Breeze
July - Sunny Days
August - Blue Odyssey
September - Sunset Walk (Fall Seasonal Collection)
October - Pumpkin Spice
November - Pure Vanilla Joy
December - Apple Cinnamon

Check back later today when I will list them in my order of preference!

Kansas State Football / Hubener
« on: October 03, 2015, 07:43:23 PM »
He is awful.  3-9 with an int.  4 rushes for 8 yards.  I think we were all giving Hubener a bit of a pass because of the perceived lack of talent at WR but then a WR came in to play QB and didn't seem to have any trouble finding open WR's.  Hubener is probably worst QB we've had since AE.
