Oldest will graduate from KSU in the Spring, second oldest is finishing his 2nd year at Butler and is enrolled in classes to get his real estate license.  Our youngest will graduate HS in the Spring and plans to attend KSU and then figure out where to go to law school.  By this time next year, we will be empty nesters.

LD's @ $15,000/day is quite something.  The airport is going to get a pretty serious discount.

If the schedule was tight from the start, I am sure those guys covered their ass and bid some LDs into the project.  That is what I always had to do with our airport projects in Wichita.  If we managed to get done on time, it was a bonus.

Thinking about Sedona for a few days this fall.  What is the best resort to stay at in the area?

Cut your own 'browns, soak them in water for a few hours, and then spread them out to dry shortly before you put them on the 'stone.  I use butter instead of oil when making them.  Spread them out as thin as possible on the griddle so you only have to turn them once and you will be on your way to buttery crispness.

Half the stuff on the Athletic reads like someone read a box score or looked at the standings and churned out a few paragraphs.

Probably plugged a few nuggets into ChatGPT and let it rip.

Upon further review, we are no longer going to install a swimming pool.  We are going to divert those funds to buying a lake house instead.
Smart. Now don’t do the dumb thing and get something on the same latitude. Go north my man. Great Lakes region.

We have some friends who live about a mile north of Green Lake so we will definitely make that trip.  I need something that is a two to three hour drive away to make it worthwhile owning.  Maybe once I retire, we will find something in the north for the summer and the south for the winter.

Saw the games last year in Wichita.  It was the first time I had been in WSU's arena and thought it was an absolute shithole.  They couldn't even keep the lights and AC on during the game.

Segura's new special made me laugh lots and lots. And I think Silverman's new special is just straight up brilliant.

I watched it last night and thought it was great as well.

Get a Blackstone.  It will change your life.

I bought a Whoop strap the other day to replace my Apple watch.  So far the data is telling me that if I want to get good sleep I have got to cut the late night boozing out.  The strain and recovery information is pretty interesting too.

Bacon; I make it in the oven and it works perfectly every time.

this topic has been adjudicated several times over. The only people who don't cook it in the oven are mongos who are too proud to try it and admit that it is the superior method across every possible metric. And to see those people triple down on their position is really quite something.

I’m quadrupling down that on the grill is tops.  No grease or pans to clean up.  No smells in the house.

see this is exactly what i'm talking about. With every word it became more and more abundantly clear that what tdaver is saying is  "I have never actually attempted to cook bacon in the oven and everything i'm saying is purely conjecture"

Oven bacon is pretty good, but do you even Blackstone bro?

I'm 48 and our youngest is going to graduate high school next year.  My aunt and uncle had their last kid when he was 55.  I couldn't imagine a new baby at my age and 55 would be insane.

My FIL has a fried that did the same thing. Had a couple kids, then something happened & the doctor said “you’re sterile, don’t waste your time on a vasectomy.” He didn’t think about it again for 18 years. As the youngest was going to college his body fixed itself & they got another at 55.

I told my doc to "double knot" it when I got cut.

The thing that scares me is I met a fertility doc a long time ago at a bar in San Diego.  We were bullshitting and he told me a story about how they needed a "sample" to test out some new equipment at his office.  He provided the sample and there were swimmers after being cut for quite a while.  Evidently there are rare cases where nature finds a way and that crap grows back together. :ohno:

They really hate it when you come to the table with cash for a vehicle and aren't trading anything in.  At that point, they can't play their stupid games with trade value, monthly payment, etc.
