It's been nice to call home and talk KSU Q@ football with the old man and little bro without being so mad or disappointed.

Quote from: GPC'eoYour all going to think I'm the craziest guy in the world, but the more I look back on the 2010-2011 auburn tigers, the more similarities I see heading into the season for us compared to what they had last year, in 2009, auburn finished 7-5 (3-5) in the regular season, like we did last year, they were in a mediocre bowl game which they won by 3 points against an all right northwestern squad, I know we lost to syracuse, but here me out, they got cam newton, the most high profile transfer in the nation heading into last year, we arguably have the most high profile transfer heading into this year, Bryce brown, I know they play different positions, but what newton did in the offense coordinated by Gus mahlzan is similar to what I believe will be what bryce brown does in our offense next year, they both are the feature players and will touch the ball the majority of the time, on defense, they had nick fairley for the 2009 season, but he did not have half of the impact on that season that he did in 2010, I'm a big believer that arthur brown will be a total animal on defense this year, again I know they play different positions, but I believe arthur will have a similar impact that fairley did, I think Collin Klein and Bryce brown will be the best backfield we've had since ell and Darren, and for the final couple points, your all going to say I'm out of my mind, but you would've said the same thing to anyone that would've said a year ago that auburn would win the sec when alabama returned everyone and was preseason number one, ala Oklahoma, plus auburn won it with gene freaking chizik, Snyder>chizik and it's not even close, to sum it all up, i just see A lot of unprovens just like auburn had last year going Ito the season, if I were to turn back te clock a year and were to tell you auburn would win it all, you would be telling me I'm crazy, anything can happen in the game of college football, and I'm a big believer that the cats will contend for a big 12 title this year and come out of no where like auburn did last year, I know I'm gonna get blasted for this, but just thought I'd share my view
UofM vs. MSU 2006
The day before the game at the press conference Drew Stanton (who 0-3 at that point in his career against UofM) went on this huge tirade about how he hates Michigan and their fans.. That tirade is what popularized the term Wal-Mart Wolverine because he said most Michigan fans have never even seen the school and just buy the gear at Wal-Mart.. He also had other lame catch phrases in that press conference like when he shared with everyone how him and his family call UofM 'The University of Puke", anyway, it was big news in B10 country.. So while tailgating the morning of, my buddy and I come up with this alcohol induced idea to turn our shirts inside out and write mean/funny stuff on it based off Drew's comments..
We bought a magic marker and wrote 'Proud Wal-Mart Wolverine" on the back, and then on the front wrote some insulting messages.. Mine just said 'Stanton Sucks', while my less subtle buddy just wrote "eff You Drew"... Anyways, we stumble in about 3 minutes into the first quarter and we get settled in and get our 'eff You Drew' chant going as soon as MSU's offense takes the field, there were about 8 MSU fans sitting directly in front of us but other than that our chant had caught on and our whole section was into it..
After a few possessions I start to notice the MSU group in front of us is extremely uncomfortable, then I realize they are ALL wearing Drew Stanton jerseys, then I realize the middle aged lady in the group is wearing 3 buttons on her jersey and they are all of Drew Stanton (one from when he was in pop warner, one that looked like HS, and then one in his MSU uni) then I realize her husband is wearing a 'Just Drew it' hat.. Eventually we put it all together that we are sitting in front of his entire family while wearing shirts insulting him and chanting "eff You Drew"..
They were good sports about it though, and late in the 4th when the game was decided I had a nice chat with his mom and Dad, they were pretty cool..
UofM at ND 2008
My first trip to South Bend.. We got down there the night before and went bar hopping a little and then the morning of was doing shots with a group of ND fans in the hotel bar, everything was going really well and we were having a great time..
Right before kickoff it starts this freaking monsoon, it was the hardest I had ever seen it rain at a sporting event, like ever, there were like 14 combined fumbles in the game due to the weather.. So we sat there for 3 hours in a monsoon while ND annihilated us, and we drove 5 hours for that, so were leaving the stadium with very low spirits.. If you've ever been to ND for a game you know that buses take you to and from the stadium to your tailgating areas, so we were walking through the mud to the little bus stop or whatever when we happened across this giant roided out ND fan who was laughing at us and talking crap.. Dejected from the game and soaking wet like we had never been wet before my friend must have decided he had enough because he got right in the ND fans face and yelled 'PHUCK JESUS!!!!"
The details from that point get a little fuzzy, but we think the guy tried to swing on my buddy, regardless,he ended up slipping in the mud and falling flat on his face.. We start beating on him for a minute while he's down and then we take off for the bus.. We got there right as a fresh one was pulling up and we jumped in and ran to the back and laid low in case security or someone saw us stomping the dude.. The bus sits there forever loading people up, at one point I glance out the window and see the Roided out guy (now shirtless ) covered in mud getting on the bus.. I show my buddy and we both start cracking up, then realizing that neither of us could fight worth a crap and that guy was huge, we hid behind a fat old couple for the entire bus ride and waited until he was out of sight before getting off the bus once it stopped..
Only got to the artwork/prototype phase, but a friend of mine was going to make up T-shirts that had a picture of the old Willie humping Herbie Husker, and a caption that said "Cornhole the Cornhuskers". Too late to implement that concept now.
I'd still do it if I were you.
I say "in your face" all the time. Like if we score a touchdown it would be just an exuberant "in your face!" to no one in particular. A calm "in your face" after a good play could be directed toward an opposing fan nearby. A sad "in your face" while pointing to my own face after a negative play or loss.
Tannahill had the smarts to change "your" to "you're"
however...QuoteStampede is over... Next thing to look toward to this summer... Harry Potter release!
I thought Tannahill hated gay people and things that don't involve beating immigrants?
I effING HATE HIM!Quote@Ttannahill80: Coach put me in charge of the pre-game playlist for next season. This playlist about to be loaded with country!
Why the hell was he put in charge of it?
I hate him as well.
Least favorite KSU Wildcat ever? He's up there for me.
Travis Tannahill
For those of you who are "too classy" for stampede. Your dumb.
