Kansas State Football / Re: Piss Pounding Auburn - The Truth
« on: September 09, 2014, 09:37:21 PM »
Have to say, I don't give my war eagles much of a chance coming into the Buzzsaw that is ABSFS. I, like most of the Auburn folks that I know, have already chalked this up as a "get 'em next time!" L, and we will all hope for a revenge game in 2022 when the GOAT LHCBS has long since shuffled off of this mortal coil. No, we Auburn fans are a simple folk. We till our lands. We fish our waters. We make a little homegrown on the side. We bang our relatives. So, in the spirit of competition, we ask that you are cordial upon our arrival, but avoid eye contact. Most of us will depart in our Camaros around the middle of the 3rd when you guys go up by 28. At that time, we plan to lynch your purple cat in effigy, snort a little sour mash, and scour the phone books for female cousins that might be DTF.

Teaching something that young to kill something is crazy to me. This isn't the stone age. We can go to the market now for groceries.

I think they figure it out on their own.  At least I did.  I mean I was handed a BB gun and some Coke cans and eventually ended up shooting a robin even though I was specifically told not to.  Anyway, I hope you don't think the only reason people hunt is for food.  It certainly isn't for me.

yeah, that's literally exactly why its a dumb idea.

Why, because a bird died?
Well, aside from the needless loss of life, shooting a songbird carries a pretty hefty fine and possibly jail time as it is a felony under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. As a hunter, I absolutely despise dumb fucks who shoot anything that moves...let's give your life the same courtesy, after all, you're only one of 7+ billion, right?  :dunno: At least I kill for food and population control where necessary...yep, that means does only when deer hunting, brah.   :th_twocents:

San Fran and Seattle are also home to some of the biggest companies in the country. Also, not sure I'm seeing the causation link btwn min wage and small business growth.

The more that money in circulation is in the hands of people who actually spend it (i.e., the lower & middle classes), the more it actually gets spent on goods and services (the basis in which our economy thrives). Thus, a significant portion would most likely be directed toward small(er) businesses who don't just offer sub-quality and dollar-cheap items (add in the effect of a growing disdain for big box stores).

..

by rule, what is the correct call here ? If you are a runner angling towards the pylon and the ball touches it, TD. but if your toe is in the endzone and your knee touches said pylon simultaneously, you are out of bounds ?  Fox announcers thought we were gifted.

If you touch the pylon you are out of bounds. The reason it counts as a td is because if the ball touches it, it should theoretically have crossed the plane. However, that should probably be revised to "touching the inside" of the pylon...otherwise, it doesn't add up.

Player Out of Bounds
ARTICLE 1. a. A player is out of bounds when any part of his person touches
anything, other than another player or game official, on or outside a boundary
line (A.R. 4-2-1-I and II).
b. A player who touches a pylon is out of bounds.

Why do announcers always say that Snyder coached teams never have penalties? Why do fans think that? I'm not saying that 9 is normal, but the way some announcers carry on with that point is ridiculous.
Mocat, you get me some math to back up my point that Snyder coached teams always have penalties, and sometimes a lot of them?

Gonna win 'em all!

Last year K-State came in 4th, behind KU [12 games], Navy and Air Force, in fewest penalties (~3.75/game).

Didn't look farther back than that.  :dunno:

ISU has to have about 500 yac today.

Gonna win 'em all!

Without a replay, it seems our angles were the worst thing. When ISU started their run we seemed out of position, but then it switched to being about angles and tackling. Good news? Our coaches know how to makes adjustments. Now we just need some fundamental work, and a fair amount of it.

why on earth would your knee hitting the pylon be considered out of bounds?  is that really a rule?

Yeah, the pylon is in bounds. These guys are idiots.
Would seem that way but:

Can you imagine what this defense will look like against Auburn?  We are getting a rough ridin' train put on us by rough ridin' mangino and paul rough ridin' rhodes.
This 20+ point loss ISU is about to give us, can't believe this is happening, will be nothing compared to the beat down Auburn lays on us. FML

Truman has to be like hurt or something
I count 4 truman screwups. 2 missed takles for loss that end up as 1st downs, a facemask penalty and losing outside containment allowin a TD.
Pretty much.  :curse:

"On June 19, 2013, Bloomberg published an article I wrote called “The Capitalist’s Case for a $15 Minimum Wage.” Forbes labeled it “Nick Hanauer’s near insane” proposal. And yet, just weeks after it was published, my friend David Rolf, a Service Employees International Union organizer, roused fast-food workers to go on strike around the country for a $15 living wage. Nearly a year later, the city of Seattle passed a $15 minimum wage. And just 350 days after my article was published, Seattle Mayor Ed Murray signed that ordinance into law. How could this happen, you ask?

It happened because we reminded the masses that they are the source of growth and prosperity, not us rich guys. We reminded them that when workers have more money, businesses have more customers—and need more employees. We reminded them that if businesses paid workers a living wage rather than poverty wages, taxpayers wouldn’t have to make up the difference. And when we got done, 74 percent of likely Seattle voters in a recent poll agreed that a $15 minimum wage was a swell idea.
...
Most of you probably think that the $15 minimum wage in Seattle is an insane departure from rational policy that puts our economy at great risk. But in Seattle, our current minimum wage of $9.32 is already nearly 30 percent higher than the federal minimum wage. And has it ruined our economy yet? Well, trickle-downers, look at the data here: The two cities in the nation with the highest rate of job growth by small businesses are San Francisco and Seattle. Guess which cities have the highest minimum wage? San Francisco and Seattle. The fastest-growing big city in America? Seattle. Fifteen dollars isn’t a risky untried policy for us. It’s doubling down on the strategy that’s already allowing our city to kick your city’s ass."

Steven Hawking is someone I have always had an interest in for his knowledge/theories/predictions in the world of theoretical physics and he could have done so much more I think if this disease hadn't made it impossible for him to talk.

Lou Gehrig was a founding member of "murder's row" for the Yankees and his struggle with the illness ended a great career.

You could argue that it was because of this disease that Hawking became who he is. Before it he was more of a class-clown, believe it or not, and didn't quite commit his cognitive faculties as he did after being given 2-3 years to live in the early 1960's...of which much, if not all of his scientific contributions came afterwards.
