The recent, unexpected, rumors, of a deal, maybe, possibly, being near completion for Berhalter reminded me of the issues facing KSU in searchers. I wonder who does a worse job of having a "search" and then hiring a more boring coach?
yeah away goals clearly count more, not sure how you can argue they don't.
we're splitting hairs here. away goals only count more if you end up with a tie after 2 games. if you lose the aggregate by 1 (or any number of goals), away goals are not a factor.
but yes if you are tied after 180, away goals would be the tiebreaker.
That's why I disagree with the way things are done. I'd much rather go into penalties to determine a winner, then have one goal count more than another goal based on location.
And we can't really go with "that's the way the rest of the world does it" or we wouldn't have made up our own American sports....

I don't think Melia is too old, not even close. Hamid has more career caps and Steffen has more the last five seasons. He should have little to no wear and tear.
My bigger concern with keeper is that they push Steffen and not anoint him which seems to be happening. Heaven forbid he turns into Jesse Gonzalez.
I don't love the idea of completely jettisoning the veterans. I do think you'll see a good mix of veterans and young guys when Berhalter, Vermes, or Marsch gets hired. It's one thing to go completely young in these friendlies without a head coach, it's a whole other thing when you're playing in tournaments and WCQs.
There are guys in the pool like Yedlin, JMo, and Nagbe who have played little to none in the last year who will be reincorporated when a head coach is named.
I'm far more interested to see what happens to MLS players who have been discarded or ignored altogether, guys like; Walker Zimmerman, Christian Ramirez, Tim Melia, Bill Hamid, Dom Dwyer, Cristan Roldan, Ike Opara, etc.
I'm done talking about it, at this point I'm just hoping US Soccer doesn't get cute.

And this isn't isolated. every single soccer fanbase has these cringey chants. even FC Wichita has these cringey, childish chants.
MIR i'm talking about the songs American fans sing not the history of violence or racism in soccer, I should've specified this earlier. There is obviously no place for racism and violence in soccer. I like Fulham for a reason. Really clean history.

Guys, I have a confession. I hate American soccer culture. It really sucks. The chants/songs are embarrassing. It's just lame.
This crap turns me off from MLS. And there's a lot more videos out there just like this one. Do you guys enjoy this? Any ideas on how to fix American soccer culture?
And I'm not talking about the play on the field. MLS has certainly improved there. I just can't get into the American fan culture. It's so cringey.
