So since KU sucked so much this year, you think that they shouldn't have done better against KSU than Colorado or North Texas?
wut
Using your logic, Snyder is a sh*tty coach because he didn't do better against Colorado than KU.
Losing to CU does show that Bill is past his prime and needs to leave, now. Many people here agree that Snyder staying on will ultimately hurt the program. However, these are my points:
1. The athletes that Mangino recruited to and left KU were the ones that you were crowing about were so much better than those dredged up by WRSOAT. On paper, they were, but they still lost to KSU two years in a row.
2. Maybe there was some bad evaluation of talent going on at KU, but here's the deal: all three of KU's QBs are better than CarsyCoff, Sams is a decent RB and you still had some WR talent available. That means that, despite your woes on o-line, there was no excuse for the piss-poor offensive production that KU put out against the Quatz and other Big 12 teams this year. That leads me to my main point:
3. Gill is in over his head. If he could only motivate his team--who was playing a team that made two anemic offenses in CU and UNT look like groups of all-stars, who hadn't lost at home to one of their main rivals since 2002, who had more talent at QB, a solid RB, and arguably better talent at WR than KSU, and who was going up against one of the worst run defenses in KSU school history--to score one(!) touchdown in garbage time against KSU, then he simply can't coach for crap. If he really kills it on the recruiting trail he may ultimately be able to get talent on par with what, say, Missouri gets on a yearly basis, but if he can't coach them worth a crap then that's just not going to matter. Given how lost and disorganized KU's coaching staff looked at times this year, I'm not sure how much better it's really going to get.
