Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Re: Sean Miller

one must consider his gary patterson levels of sweating

I'll be interested to see if Frank gets another D1 head coaching job, or if he's even interested. His health has been awful the past couple of years.

FGCU's open if he wants to move closer to home and wants to keep coaching badly enough.

Looking back the protest was really embarrassing.  Wish I hadn't been a part of it, but i was young and angsty and horned up for k-state sports.

it was not supposed to be a protest of oscar's hiring, I had announced we were having a rally for Doug a few days before and Currie announced the hire/press conference at the same day/time. I think the "protest" was funny and it was understandable because it came on the back of that horrific press conference with currie where he talked about the Dillon's receipt etc. It was not about oscar at all.

yeah it wasn't supposed to be but it obvs turned into that in terms of outside perception

whatever, crap was weird/funny/kinda stupid in hindsight, it happens

Anyone pretending a watered down Big 12 is as cool or fun as being with West Coast elites in the Pak-18 can go suck an egg. This bites and everyone knows it.

It bites for sure, but I don't know how anyone thought they were really going to add us.

I do think a watered down version of the B12 with Cincinnati, CF, Memphis, and Houston would be fun though.  :dunno:

This part definitely sucks. I think Nipert could be cool. I like CSU as a roadie, but they aren’t getting in. The rest will suck. I have no desire to go to Houston’s stadium or UCF’s aluminum bleachers on steroids stadium. Hopefully we don’t lose Pullman & Tucson off future schedules.

Cinci would be...fine. I guess. CSU is a great roadie and if we're plumbing the depths of small timey schools I honestly hope we go after them. Look, at this point it's basically all about the roadies, and Fort Collins/CSU is a legit destination roadie. UCF is not. Houston is a gross town but their stadium is hilarious and it's kinda close to me so I'd go once but I wouldn't like it. If we're trying to add schools, add a few that are good G5 teams like Houston and Memphis, then just have fun with roadies for the other two. I got so bonered up about traveling west that I just say we add CSU and BYU for the mountains. Who gives an F anymore.

I want to add Boise State, Colorado State, New Mexico, and Cincinnati (I guess).

Bad rough ridin' idea, as much as I selfishly would be cool with seeing the quatz here in ABQ. UNM's been a complete administrative dumpster fire the past 5 years or so and the only thing they once had going for them (hoops) is a shell of what it once was. UNM Football is a smoking radioactive crater with a concrete mausoleum for a stadium, although Danny Gonzales might end up looking like a decent hire in a few years. But overall they're KU without any of the money or finesse for covering crap up. Do not want.

CSU seems to not have any idea wtf they're doing either (Steve Addazio lmbo) but they'd be infinitely more desirable than UNM.

this all seems very bowling greene0

Essentially Flyertalk / Re: What U.S. state do you want to move to?

i like NM and don't wanna move but I'd take CO or San Diego if the perfect opportunity presented itself

also if SD is talking about the eastern half of the state (i.e., the part he grew up next to), yeah, it's pretty bumfuck. i dig albuquerque though and northern NM is gorgeous. can also provide recommendos for southern NM, although i don't really recommend living there unless you don't mind not having a lot going on most of the time. ruidoso and cloudcroft are alright depending on what you want out of life.

I think New Mexico would be good assuming it had water in 10 years.

yeah this and forest fires are the biggest concerns. the rio grande ran dry in ABQ this year for the first time in forever. the mountains up in CO aren't getting snow like they used to anymore. but i mean climate-wise everywhere's probably mumped in some capacity or another anyway so :dunno:

LMAO at all the Colorado answers.

yeah i love visiting but most of the state is crowded and/or expensive as all eff, and the places where it isn't either don't have any jobs (Walsenburg/Trinidad) or any scenery whatsoever (everything east of the front range)

0.42! Bro I wish we were getting a totty at Mochas and Javas and then some Dos Gatos and then we could float the river and walk over to Treff's for a brew dawg and then maybe check out the rooftop at Shade and WHAT'S WITH THE BIG WEIRD CAGE URINALS THAT YOU STAND ON AT ZELICK'S?!?

urinal troughs are a proud san marcos tradition as we are all unrepentant trashbags

But ferreal have they started building the new music building yet? Old one was so boxy and very McCain'y.

lol no, they had "plans to revisit" building this back in 2019 but funding never came in and it's safe to say they're stuck for a while with covid and stuff

I honestly think UT and KU have a lot in common if you remove academics, money, and prestige from the criteria.

It's not a perfect comparison, granted. But I do have a UT degree, so I'm qualified to opine.

culturally there's definitely crossover, i.e., a certain sense of entitlement (that's both justified and unjustified at the same time somehow)

Yeah, maybe. But it's important to remember this was a troll thread that I started because I was bored.

looks like someone's angling to be the north texas of bbs'ers
