You know what's even funnier?  Making fun of a kid that almost died from brain surgery.  You must be so proud of yourself.

dobbie? :dunno:  he's ok, pretty much everyone but daris likes royalswild better though.

It takes a real man to make fun of a kid that almost died from having brain surgery.  A real man.
I had no idea Ben.  I'm really sorry.    I hope your surgery went well.

If someone like Oregon offers Frank $2 million/year, how does he not leave K-State?

go ask Harbaugh...

I don't hate Bob Knight.   I hate the rambling tangents Knight goes off on, and his insistance on predicting (usually wrongly) the success of free throws.

a little too dark....

He deals in plain talk, no bullshit.   He deals in truth and fact, and if an interviewer misspoke on any fact, I think Frank would correct him.    Frank hasn't ever dodge talk of his contract when it's been brought up, but he's quick to point out that it's a work in progress and that he has faith it will be resolved to his satisfaction.

so is he or is he not working on or worrying about it until the end of the season or is it a work in progress.  if he deals in 'plain talk. no bullshit'. that means he must be worrying about it or working on it.  or he's a bullshitter :dunno:

he answered the question when asked.    I have no doubts that until Jeff Martin spilled his guts and started this whole thing we wouldn't have heard Frank say a word.  and that's the way it should have been.

4931
no where did I say he said he doesn't want an extension until the end of the season, perhaps you should bone up on your reading skills

if you've heard Frank speak on it, he says he isn't worrying or working on it until after the season.   Get over it.

if you think those 2 sentences mean the same thing, you need to go back to grade school.

enjoying your circlejerk?

Frank has never said he wouldn't take one if offered.  Just that he's not worried about it or focusing on it during the season.   Pretty simple really.  I know you guys enjoy playing obtuse, but if you keep acting that way eventually you will become stupid.

why would Frank go on the radio and clarify he is the lowest paid coach in the league when the host asks him a question about this contract.  why not 'no comment.  we'll talk about this after the season.'

can you provide a link where frank says he isn't worrying about or working on a contract extension until the end of the season?  are you being obtuse when you post a link to a Robinette article?  an article where Robinette writes in his own words what I am looking for in a Frank quotation.

Frank appears to me to be the kind of guy that would have clarified he was the 4th and not the 3rd highest paid if that was the case. We are talking about the same guy who coached here without a signed contract the first season....that's not the sign of a guy who's concerned about it to a great extent.

as far as the other extensions, last I heard Deb wasn't championing the practice facility, so if that's a major issue in the contract talks, that's irrelevant to her.

you're one weird cat.

no, just a Cat with a baby on the way, who realizes what that means.

do you not have old relatives, or relatives that use motorized transport?  do you not realize what that means?

I do, and if one of them is killed while piloting a small plane, it will be tragic, but it will be what it is.    I've got a good friend who is a pilot, and we joke about it often.   He'd be the first to tell you if he lawn darts his jet into a corn field and it's pilot error, he'd be a dumbass.

4933
What's funnier than Sharon's dead baby?

Sharon's dead baby sitting next to a kid with down syndrome.

why would you want Sherron's baby to sit beside you?

Proud to be here for the first "Brook Berringer" moment on the new site.

I've got no real problem with that one....tragic yes, but he was an adult and was even at fault.   Classless yes, despicable, no.

I actually have it on good authority that the deal was dead at Wefald's hands before the Fitz debacle, but it certainly didn't help.    I really wanted Patterson, I remember fist pumping to the radio that afternoon.

knowing this, and accepting, for the sake of argument, that martin would like to coach long-term at kstate if given a fair salary, i'm not sure how you can not be wracked with worry that currie will eff kstate fans over.

Is Curry Wefald?   No.

Is Curry Krause?  No.

Curry is fairly unproven at this point.   He's done some fairly decent things with the program to help appease the fans this year, so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt until there is suffiecient PROOF otherwise.

Third hand my brother's sisters cousin reports are meaningless....if they weren't we'd be cheering on Gary Patterson instead of Bill.

Correction:  we'd be cheering for Gary Patterson if Weefs and Snyder hadn't decided to screw us over and if Fitz would have put the interests of K-State fans ahead of the interests of his GoPowercat.com advertisements.  But that's not the Fitz way.

I actually have it on good authority that the deal was dead at Wefald's hands before the Fitz debacle, but it certainly didn't help.    I really wanted Patterson, I remember fist pumping to the radio that afternoon.

His focus is still on basketball, and until the season ends that won't change. Not even the opportunity to extend his current contract, which athletic director John Currie is working to do, can distract him.

"If there is anyone to blame with the whole contract thing right now it's me," Martin said. "I get so entrenched with my team and the next game that I don't put in the time I need to into my contract."

But he's confident a deal will be made.

i guess you can use Kellis Robinette as your source if that's how you want to portray yourself.  where's your source/link that quotes Frank as saying he doesn't want an extension til end of season.  thanks.

no where did I say he said he doesn't want an extension until the end of the season, perhaps you should bone up on your reading skills

Frank has been very consistent in interviews he's given as reported by Meek, Kellis, and others that he is in no hurry and he is focused on the task at hand.

4941
I have no problem assuming Currie is an idiot.

Yeah, I've seen nothing to suggest otherwise.  On the other hand, I've had numerous people tell me he's a fracking Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).

At least we know we'll never have a worse duo than Wefald and Krause. They were the biggest retards possible

Curry & Shultz will go down as the biggest retards in history if they botch this deal and Frank leaves after this season.

No question about it.

And I don't care how many Mikeyis4dcats and the rest of the Wabash Station retards that will try to deflect their culpability in this epic failure should it occur, these clowns will be riden out of town on a rail.

 :jerk:

4942
i don't think running currie out of town will be as satisfying as retaining martin/good bball.  so, i'm not all that concerned about how stupid our fanbase is.

if you all really think the negotiations are at an impasse, they kindly explain how Frank benefits from continuing to publicly shoulder the blame for the lack of extension?

If Frank wanted to budge someone, a simple no comment would speak loudly.

As it is, the fanbase by and large sees 2 men who know it needs done, and the one who should be crying loudest that it's not is saying it's HIS fault.

4943
if Frank doesn't have a contract signed by Tax Day, then by al means, break out the pitchforks and torches.  Until then, get over it.

You ever considered that since it appears a major sticking point is reported to be the practice facility, that the AD and Frank both need the continued success of this season to continue to drum up financial support to get it built?       You don't just get millions overnight...it takes months and months of coddling and handholding major donors to ensure they pledge.   Donors that maybe weren't sold on the idea last year are now on the bandwagon, but you've obviously never tried to fundraisie major cash if you think once someone's made up their mind to donate that they just open the checkbook.   Most have an egotistical side that must be stroked and placated until THEY write the check on their terms and timeline.

public statements from either party are meaningless.

so are 12 year olds whining about it on a message board...

Here's the thing...

When we have credible reports about significant donors having serious issues with Currie's commitment to retaining Frank Martin, then we have reason to be very concerned.

These donors PAY considerable amounts of money to support KSU.  Currie gets PAID to support KSU.  Who do you believe?  I'll go with the guys with the skin in the game.

Is there a minimum age that a person has to be before someone can make fun of their death?  I'm not really up to speed on all the rules and regulations of COMMUNIST RUSSIA!

I think even the anti-communist Michael Moore would say that using the death of an innocent newborn as fodder for our dislike of Collins is beneath us and despicable.   Grow up.

There's a difference in having fun, being irreverent, and acting like a despicable fanbase.    How would you have felt if KU fans made fun of Vanessa Stewart's death?
