Bonnaroo seems like a gamble, imo. You have the travel expenses and camping headaches involved, and on top of that it will almost 100% of the time be either Africa hot or rain the entire time. Same risks as Stampede, I would think.

Could be better, but there's someone I want to see all the time except for part of Saturday afternoon. Biggest problem are the conflicts (Theivery corporation vs. Jay Z, Flaming Lips vs. Chromeo, B.O.B./Kid Cudi vs. LCD Soundsystem, Dr. Dog vs. Nas/Damien Marley, etc.)
Thievery Corp v. Jay-Z isn't even a remotely close decision.
I think if the gays would agree to call their unions something other than marriage, they would get much further, much quicker. Even in a state as liberal as California, the majority of people believe the word "marriage" indicates a religious union between a man and a woman.So it's basically semantics. Gotcha.

UNLV won a National Title in the Big West 19 years ago and Utah was pretty good like 12 years ago.

MWC basketball isn't as terrible as everyone is making it out to be. If KU and Baylor come with us, it would be a pretty solid conference, actually. Even without KU, I'm sure we would continue to play them in the nonconference schedule.
Name the last Mountain West scrub to win a National Title, make a Final 4, or Elite 8.
This isn't about not being terrible. This is about having the ability to compete at a championship level on a high profile stage.

Baylor - Elite 8 2010

Hmm, good point. I change my vote to the Big East. Although the San Diego/Vegas football roadies far surpass any Big East football destination. (DePaul/St. John's would be fantastic bball destinations, though).

That could leave colleges like Kansas and Kansas State to be snapped up by the Big East, which could be its best bet to continue using the lure of a B.C.S. bid for football recruits.
