Correct me if I'm wrong CF3 but I think what he's trying to say is that bullying people into believing the same thing as you is likely to be counterproductive and make people stick to their guns more, which is a valid point.

Yeah. It makes productive dialogue an impossibility. We've lost the ability to meet in the public square and have respectful conversations. It's either "you're a naive, hateful bigot" or "you're going to hell."

People (including many in this thread) have rationally articulated why those opposed to gay marriage are bigots.

Saddening how many people don't know what the word "bigot" means.  This board is embarrassing.

the dictionary definition was actually posted in this thread.

I don't let my kids drink pop. Not a brag, I'm just putting it out there.

Do you go around telling everyone that your kids hate pop.  They think it sucks and would never touch it (when they would crush a 2 liter of Dr. Thunder the second they got their hands on it)

no, I don't. I know they would wash down baloney sandwiches with a 6'er of Mountain Dew if they didn't hate baloney.

they love baloney.

oh no, not my kids. when all the kids on the playground are downing seaweed and baloney sandwiches, my kids are sticking w/ PB&J. Not succumbing to peer pressure! It's so crazy.

Love his foreign policy.

Yes, it's probably what I like most about him.
Sarcasm? It usually is the opposite. People like the economic standpoint he has and think his foreign policy is just absolute insanity.. lol. Good to hear you guys dont enjoy policing the world.

I like his foreign and social policies, which normally I would say are the most important characteristics of a presidential candidate. I think his economic policy is way too extreme, though, to the point where he would be difficult for me to vote for.
Oh okay. What exactly turns you off about his economic policy? jw

the part about pegging the currency to something that is pulled from the ground bothers me.

Yeah, I tune out when he starts bringing up the gold standard and the Fed.
The Fed is destroying our economy. They have destroyed 99% of the dollar since 1913. They need to be fully audited and the corrupted people need to go to prison. Gold standard is iffy for me.. I really dont know about that. I just think the fed needs to be under control. The fed could work i think if they had to answer to congress or some body of UNITED STATES government. Some regulation to the fed would be nice.

After reading all of your dipshit responses, I've decided that not having a TV is something worth bragging about.

For the CCL guys: what makes you wake up and decide that today is a good day to take the 9mm to the coffee shop with you?  Gut feeling?  Accessorizing with new jeans/boots?  Stiff neck from nights sleep and need slight weight pulling down on that side of the shoulder to keep alignment in check?

I only carry when I'm on vacation or hiking/hunting. Why vacation you ask?  When I'm going to be making several stops at several locations - I prefer not to fly.  And driving around Vegas or LA with Kansas Plates may draw attention to yourself.

lol, this is great

Geez, than what on earth are we discussing?  If you shot down a Constitutional amendment we seem to be pretty eye-to-eye

Hate the name calling.  Hate it.  Hate the "he's a bigot!  he's hateful!" accusations made to anyone who disagrees with them.  It is so counter productive to shaping the opinions of others.  That was my original point.

Thanks, Dad, I'll keep that in mind.

However, if someone vocally opposes something like blacks voting, they aren't just disagreeing with me, they are racist. Why shouldn't I call these people racists?

As for around town or whatever, I only carry it when I go to ghetto places at certain times of day.

what's your thought process here? Are you selling drugs or something?

If I had to hazard a guess:

1. owns a gun
2. has the want/license to carry
3. watches the news

Yeah, not rocket science. I carry in town maybe once every couple months.

we're talking the ghetto parts of colorado springs, right?

Thought of another good one. I have come across multiple moms here bragging about their kids enjoying seaweed as a snack

"my kids just won't eat chocolate, actually they don't like any kind of sweets.  They really prefer carrots....and they lovelovelove apple slices."

(true story, the above parent brought kid into office and said kid went ape crap on candy at every desk they stopped by.  Like a great white feeding frenzy)

Oh man.  These might be worse than the "I don't have cable/TV" crowd.

They are the "I don't have cable/TV" crowd, but also have kids.  Same people, just popped a kid out and decided to impose their stupidity on their kids and that way if you steer the conversation from TV to anything kid related they are still better than you.

having kids generally brings out a little extra self-righteousness in people, which I think makes them worse.

I meant don't call ANY of the gov. unions marriage.  Call it marriage because your church or religious institution married you.  I would prefer the gov. not designate ANYONE as married.  Just unions for legal purposes.  Leave marriage as a function of religious communities etc.

You would fight for governments no longer calling anything "marriage" if that's what you really cared about. But we all know it's not.

Expect a Rand Paul presidency in 2016.

Yeah. I won't be doing that.

41947
Also, RT and those other international news shows are great. If you don't have cable, (:gocho:), they're usually on one of the 4 PBS stations you get when you hook up the antenna.

41948
This is just another example on how the Obama Administration is unleashing an assault on Journalist like Luke Rudkowski and that women who is on RT.  I mean they are totally legit press. And yet they get harassed after asking the tough questions that Fox, CNN, MSNBC, AP, All those other global elite media outlets refuse to even address them. Its a shame this is going on in the "United States of America" But people refuse to acknowledge the truth because the truth is scary and not comfortable.

DNW, but wtf does Rand Paul have to do with the Obama administration?

Sent from my GT-S5830M using Tapatalk 2

Bullshit.  The bigots would still find a reason to hate, they'd cook up a new excuse/misinterpreted bible verse while at the same time turning a blind eye to all the other sins the don't pressure the government to legislate.  Bigots gonna bigot.

So, is anyone who is against gay marriage a bigot and hateful?

I suppose some of the bigots could be more ignorant than hateful. Dumb or mean. Take your pick.

There's also the chance they are opposed to the government being involved in ANY marriage or civil union, but I'm not sure those people really exist.

Those people are for gay marriage, though, because if the government is not involved, there is nothing stopping two gay people from getting married.

Yeah, you're right. Anyone opposed to gay marriage is a hateful bigot.
