I've always thought that a conference championship buys a coach a minimum of five more years.  (Ten for a natoonal championship.)

you're probably right

If you weren't able to properly judge oscar before he took the kstate job, I seriously doubt that any amount if time will be enough to allow you to clearly do it.

the guy's probably going to retire after kstate.  if you can't judge him by this point in his career, you're just not a person that judges.

#teamwaitandsee

just give him a chance. He's only been the k-state coach for a year.

I cherish fsd's appearances in this thread.

He will go down as the third most un-appreciated player in K-State History, behind Bill Walker and Curtis Kelly. He may be more underappreciated than BW.

kelly wasn't as good, so even though he was underappreciated, he wasn't as much so as art and walker on a relative basis.  art is a little hard to rank, because for a short time (about the latter third of his soph year) he was really highly appreciated.  but given our fanbase's capacity for butthurt, i'm sure that his appreciation will fall to ridiculous lows from here on out.

well well well, looks like someone doesn't properly appreciate Curtis Kelly.

It's unbelievably sad that we will never see Angel play for K-State again. Doesn't seem real.

why is this meltdown worthy?

 :dubious:

think long term. What really changes?

For some reason I have this feeling that angel leaving actually delays the inevitable.  it's a built in excuse that oscar will rough ridin' pound into everyone's head.  "we're young/inexperienced" , "give oscar's guys time to mature in the system" type stuff. and the most ksu fans will accept it (or rather their apathy will not require results) since Football is doing well.

I think the tenure would be about the same length with or without Angel. We just won't be as good for a year or two.

oscar is recruiting speed, speed, and more speed. Coupled with athleticism from the guard position- Angel may not have been able to win a starting spot down the road. No joke. I like what oscar is doing. Clean house. Make it work at K-State. Love this, really do.

That's....pretty amazing.

yeah, the SEC is the conference pussing out. Our 9-game schedule is rough ridin' murder compared to the puds the top SEC teams get to play.

I'm not saying that.

But look at the schedules... Alabama played 9 SEC teams, 1 good noncon (Mich) and 3 creampuffs last year.  K-State played 9 Big 12 teams and 1 good noncon (Miami) and 2 creampuffs last year.

Both teams were conference champions.  Both teams finished with 1 loss.  Was Alabama's schedule so  much better than ours that it made them worthy of the playoffs while we have to sit at home?  I mean, the difference between our schedules is they played 1 more creampuff than we did.

The differences are where they were ranked in the preseason, when they lost, and who they lost to.

Him being here the next two seasons was going to delay #teamburnitdown

But yeah, I suppose you're right. Would have been nice to have the second best player in the conference next season.

Yeah, I suppose it would have delayed the inevitable. But the damage was really done last March, ya know?

I don't understand guys that hate mowing/yardwork - it is absolutely the best listening to music/podcasts a married man with children can get  :dunno:

This makes me sad. :frown:

And I love how much Rams worries about travel details like this. So tedious and stressful. It bothered me at one time but now it's kind of endearing. Love ya, ramsey.
yeah I already found that page but it really only talks about cabo and we won't actually be going into cabo for the first couple of days but will likely need cash immediately for the cab from the airport.

and it's really not that tedious and stressful.  I need to have reservations for certain meals and I like to have stupid crap like currency conversion figured out so I'm not wandering around the airport and/or getting ripped off when I step off the plane.  I guess I've always felt like a little planning beforehand makes the trip less stressful.  I mean it's not like I have every day (or even the majority of them) planned out.  sounds like you're the type that tosses some clothes in a bag and jumps on the plane with no cares/worries.  I respect that...it's just not me.  I don't travel as much as I'd like so when I do I like to get the most out of it. I'll readily admit that I'm a research freak.  It's just who I am.  but it helps me be much more relaxed once I arrive. :dunno:

the conversation with you is tedious and stressful. I'm sure it's fine for you.

lawns suck.  i wish i could just pave mine over (might do).  i really couldn't give a crap, but i feel like the neighbors are judging me (prolly are).

Is it desert-y enough to just put rocks out there like they do in Phoenix? Or maybe a native plant year or something.

Har Mar is the rough ridin' best. Here his performing for a bunch of kids (and being interviewed by a 4th grader). So wonderful and inappropriate.

And have you heard his new song? Different direction for him.
