Tweets such as that make me glad I left twitter about 6 years ago.

I love it. Every few years, after the new coach is hired, THIS will be the time things change.

Just grab the popcorn, sit back, and wait for the inevitable collapse.

Will this be enough popcorn?

Good reason, and on that basis I’d have to agree.  However, if we leave the Greatest Gameshow Host Of All Time out of it (hard to do, I know), then I find very little compelling evidence that this joker will be any better at KSU with comparable talent.

Sorry, but Wink Martindale is the GGHOAT.  Trebek could not hold the man's mic.

Not sure where to put this, but it is from the coaching staff.  Please note what is said at the 1:00 mark.  Could it be?

I wouldn't put it past them to go the Self route.   Counter charges against the plaintiff and Pooka doesn't start the Pitt State game.

My guess is that this will inspire a funding push for a football rape dorm, and Pooka will get a slap on the wrist for being the one to make this necessary.  That punishment will be to miss the spring game.

Kansas State Football / Re: Football Recruiting Thread
« on: December 16, 2018, 07:54:59 PM »
So we literally need to be handing out bags of cash to this guy:  Rhamondre Stevenson
Still uncommitted top juco back.
https://www.hudl.com/video/3/1887108/5bb30bf4d45fcd13e0012fb8
rhamondre is visiting OU this weekend. as soon as OU offered our coaches probably gave up recruiting him
despite the fact OU has 3 elite RBs and all are underclassmen i expect Riley and gang to somehow convince him to sign there
we really need to hire some coaches who have connections

If he can’t sell a juco RB on a roster without a scholarship running back it’s going to be a long 6 years.
the elite kids like the championship trophy story better than the playing time story. OU also does a great job of having some of their NFL players around on visit weekends to impress the recruits.
U know Peterson, Perine, etc. The kids love the idea of following in their footsteps. Riley dont spend much time talking about the 4 top RBs already on the roster

In addition, any kid with great talent believes he can beat anyone else out.  It is in their nature.  If  a kid shies away from a school due to talent, you tend to question if they have what it really takes to play at the highest levels.

Kansas State Football / Re: Ron Prince Stories!

I suppose if Snyder never retired the first time, then we wouldn't have these wonderful Ron Prince stories.  So there's that.

Most definitely.

Pondering the Ron Prince saga, I almost feel like there is a WWE persona waiting to hit the ring modeled after Ron.  Between the "Love Sweeptakes" and the "Sideline Stomp" amongst others, there are already bits out there.  Not sure what the hype music would be, but the options are infinite.

My dad attended KSU before he quit and got married.  But I grew up in a 'Cat household, no and ifs or buts.  I was a die-hard purple fan from birth and saw the ugliness from a distance (nothin' like being optimistic when Stan Parrish is hired before reality sets in).  My dad and I were never close, and the few games he went back to attend in the 70s he generally brought one or two of my brothers.

After I graduated from college and became a teacher, I opted to start making the long drives back to Manhattan a few times a year for games.  Eventually, I got him to start attending games around 1997 (not easy, he was a true work-a-holic who believed Sundays were the day you relaxed and only worked 8 hours on your business).  After a few years getting together for a few games a year, not only did our relationship improve, but he really enjoyed taking that day off (his employees noted his mood was much better at work), enough so he opted to become a season ticket holder.  After I moved back to eastern Kansas 14 years ago, he and I attended almost every game together until he feel ill about 3 years ago and eventually passed.

I can say without a doubt, without Bill turning around the program, he would have never attended those games and we would have never reconciled before he died.  The great games we attended were nice, but the time together is what truly mattered.  For that, I will always have a soft spot for LHC Bill Snyder.

Three memories.

1. 1991 or 1993.  KSU comes back and beats KU, in large part because the local media's golden-boy, Glenn Mason opted against multiple field goal chip shots and went for it on 4th down.  KSU invariably held, and eked out a close win.  In the post-game press conference, the media was not pleased (they consider Snyder a fraud) and asked him if he was "embarrassed" about how his team won.  Bill just went after them and defended his players.  The media, of course went after him for the next week about how he didn't know how to win with class, but it sure solidified for me that Bill was the guy I wanted in my corner.

2.  2009.  KSU was absolutely destroyed at TTU, 66-14.  They played aTm the next game in Manhattan.  aTm was also on a roll, with a powerful offense.  I went to the game expecting the 'Cats to be destroyed.  A ton of seats were empty, and what were taken were often by people I had never seen as season-ticket holders had given away or sold tickets.  Really damn cold on top of it.  Then KSU just absolutely murdered aTm 62-14, with KSU coasting early in the 3rd quarter.  Absolute blast.

3.  2011.  The multi-overtime game vs. aTm.  The back and forth was awesome and nerve-wracking.  The final win was exhiliarating.  It felt like the demons of 1998 had finally be exorcised.

I believe this crew is just spinning a wheel to determine if something is a foul and who to call it upon.

They appear to be utterly clueless (and that is impressive in that they make Big 12 crews look decent).

Just change the locks at Vanier, maybe he’ll just give up after a few minutes of standing in the cold.

He is already in Vanier.  He's locked the doors, piled up the furniture, and built a fort, and chained himself to the desk.

He is probably trying to look up how the Wonder Women gauntlets got their bullet deflecting powers and is trying to see if he can do the same with his cabinet full of bowl rings.

62
Sam probably can’t listen to Doris Burke either

No idea who that is.

Eff.  Trying to watch the game.  But Missy Heidrick needs to STFU.  I thought she was "color" commentary.  But instead she talks twice as much as the play-by-play guy, Ben Boyle.

I may have to turn off the sound (or listen to the Lehigh broadcast).

Of course big sam prefers rough ridin' stan, to the woman. No basketball "analyst" in America talks more with nothing to say than stan.

Stan says nothing of value when doing BB games.  Pure and simple.  But at least he closes his mouth for more than 2 seconds at a time.  At least he realizes that his job is to shut up until it is time to drop some useless "insight."

You must run into different people than I do.  I have traveled all over the US and always hear great things about the KSU logo!

I would not touch it other than have some variations in color schemes in the uniforms.

Clones saved by the refs.  How appropriate.

Very nervous here.  Lots of time for the 'Cats to ISU this game and find a way to screw it up.

(Note, my post was rejected due to another post - then the fumble on the blitz.  Crap.)

Lol at the FS1 team.  Making up first names left and right, including for Kingsbury.

Also, listening to the yelling by the 'Clone PA guy, I am getting flashbacks of Deerfield HS games from the early 2000s.

zomg srsly how fukkin weird is this place

The court has been flipped the court 90 degrees during one of their remodels.

70
But if he doesn't announce anything between Sunday and the bowl game, i don't want any part of that.

This is the thought that has been scaring the crap out of me once I realized the 'Cats were going to beat TTU Saturday.

Allegedly he wants Briles as OC, which seems impossible.

Gonna have to go to donors to build a  much larger rape dorm.

Understand the call, but it felt like more of a couldn’t stop momentum + Gatorade cooler explosion for effects.

I don't want to defend a trash program such as Baylor's (because you can't).  However, maybe the effort was to bring more moisture to the field and elevate it to proper flood aggie standards.

Who's G Money?

Gabriel Crews, former DL during the Prince era.

No, but I just  at these takes about KU's football facilities just because the stadium is a dump in areas that recruits don't see.

Recruits see the empty seats, that's what they care about.    Here's an example of why the takes are so dumb.   Their team meeting room and ours.

KSU has tiered seating.  KU saved the cash and went for a level floor.

If you're uneasy about the cats, my suggestion is to avoid being a fan of the Lakers.

That made me laugh out loud.

Feelin' a bit more comfortable now.
