they lost to Mizzou twice so i don't think they're very good

-How big a deal would 2 or 3 seed be? Always important to get as high a seed as possible. But, Tang not going to approach it as "we have to avoid kansas in second round." Because, avoid kansas to play TX, etc? That's not fun either. This year it just doesn't matter as too many quality teams at top.

-First WVU game vs. tomorrow. What does kstate need to reproduce? Take care of ball, run better offense, take better shots. WVU will try to speed you up and take silly shots. Going into hostile environment, desperate team, they are going to be super physical, ugly game and will dare refs to call a foul on every possession. Kstate will have opportunities to attack pressure with pressure.

-WVU will attack glass. You have to rebound. Don't just block out, but go after ball.

-Make a case for Tang COY. JH: Bill is probably best coach in college bball right now, but if Tang doesn't win Big 12 COY, just cancel the award. No question. The overall situation....program, apathy, community, last season vs this season, returning players....it isn't close.

-Walked into program where "it's not easy to recruit" and didn't make excuses, just went out and did it. Transformed university. Even stopped the chant.

-Prediction? 74-70 Cats, with 3,000 FT's.

Kansas State Football / Stan Weber recap from KKHI Podcast (WVU week)
« on: October 30, 2020, 01:38:40 PM »
-Is there a match up issue beings WVU has won 4 in a row? Yes, a little. Just like how K-State has dominated ISU the last 12 years, sometimes it's just match-ups. They have superstars on defense. DL plays with very aggressive style. Neil Brown is a real good coach and always has a plan. You have to take that into account. Trip is longer, everything more of a grind, etc. They have experience on defense and just really strong on that side of the ball. One of the best defenses in the country right now.

-And, K-State is nowhere near dangerous on offense....just trying to be efficient. They are not converting on 3rd downs. Finally, in third quarter against ku, they did and they looked much better. But, other than that, offense just hasn't been consistent. So, you have a match-up problem.

-K-State won't give up and will fight all four quarters, but it's going to be a big struggle to score tomorrow.

-How about K-State's defense? Can they keep them in the game? Sure. K-State has to stop Brown and the running game, as always. QB isn't great, but he's a fighter. Have to get them in obvious passing situations.....so you can drop 7 and get pressure with K-State's front four as they are capable of doing. Keep things in front....because K-state tackles so well that they'll be able to keep them short of sticks.

-WVU is going to try to run the ball........it's their strength. That'll be the key to the game.

-KK: If K-State wins, they'll be in title game....prove me wrong. Stan: OU is still most likely the best team in the Big 12. But, with two losses and a k-state head-to-head win against them, K-State can go 2-2 rest of way and still be ahead of OU. I don't think your too far off with that statement, because even at 2-2 rest of way, just might be good enough.

-If K-State wins tomorrow, Klieman will have a winning record in the big 12 in his first two years at no worse than 5-4. That's not insignificant. In fact, with a true round robin, that's pretty amazing for anyone not named OU....let alone a new coach.

-KK: Seems early in the year, but this is just a monster game for K-State. Stan: It is. Vaults you big time. It's a weird situation. K-State is just a team that has to grind week to week like an NFL team.....but if you win, even after all the grinding, you look up and your 5-0, it just looks different. You can think about Big 12 championship.

-With that said, the coaches and players are only focused on tomorrow. I can guarantee you that.

Kansas State Football / Matt Walters Border Patrol Recap
« on: September 06, 2019, 10:10:02 AM »
-For first game, very crisp and clean.....thoughts? Very smooth. Skylar on target all game. Guys having fun. All things considered, game 1, not much to complain about.

-What was most impressive about Skylar? Really only one bad ball he threw all night....and that might of been more of a bad route by Knowles. And, without him running so much, he looks much healthier and should remain so.

-Thoughts on RB's? They all impressed me, even Tyler Burns. These aren't the most explosive backs that will blow by people, but perfect for wearing down defenses.

-Defense gave up 7 yards per play...is that a concern? Thing that stood out to me was beginning of second half Nichols attacked K-State right up front.....with success. I think they know they need to improve and will come out with little chip on their shoulder tomorrow.

-Prediction? 49-14 K-State

Have been debating whether to post this since last weekend but I’ve had a few drinks so be it. Attended a family wedding last weekend and meet my cousins new bf who just so happens works for athletic department. Low on the totem pole but none the less. He told me an alum from the east coast calls and wants to throw some dollars the departments way, 7 figures. I guess the guys father passed leaving him the business and so he wants something with the family name. Just one catch, supposedly guy requests a firm date on when bills going to hang it up. This makes to Taylor who refuses to either press bill or pass along info. Guy says fine, I’ll hold onto my $ for now. My hope is there is a plan and timeline, not public of course, resulting in a smooth transition. I doubt this but am trying to stay optimistic. Or maybe it’s just the whiskey clouding my brain.

we're going to beat the crap out of Charlotte

so, Vandy. i'm kind of nervous. they handled a MTSU team that went to a bowl last year, and it's an early road game.

I sincerely like BSFS WSC and the New Vanier and the BTF. These things probably wouldn't have happened as quickly or as successfully without you. You are socially awkward and suck crap at hiring MBB head coaches, but you did some good things too.

Sincerely,

i seldom post but they are the third ranked team in the nation and we are not even ranked and lost 2 games by small margins. I am proud of this team and frankly think Weber is doing pretty well with what we have. At least we are competitive against them in basketball which they can't say about football! And despite reports about their football commitments they will still not be as good as our team for many years! For those naysayers and Weber haters I don't remember Frank's teams doing that well against the dirty birds. In fact most games, particularly in Allen, we looked scared and were usually down by 20 in the first 10 minutes. Who do you really think will do better than we are right now? I think the future looks bright!
