This half is a bit of an indictment against our coaching staff. They keep trying to force the ball into players who aren't open. No adjustments

That sums up Mittie's entire career... he will not have a better team than this year and we couldn't even make it to the 2nd weekend.
Deb Patterson 2.0. Why didn't Maupin see more minutes?
Not an x's and o's expert but I think she would have been a liability on defense against their bigs.
She absolutely was.

Speaking of NIL, a story I heard through someone who may be connected enough to know the guy who heads up the KU NIL cooperative;
There was a meeting with all the KU head coaches, so Leipold, WBB, BSB are all around the table - Self comes in late and immediately points at each in turn and says "I want your rough ridin' money and I want your rough ridin' money..." and "It's all going to the basketball team".  I fully believe that Self and ethics are acquainted only through coincidence, but being that much of a dickhead is a stretch.

On second thought, I believe it and he's a total prick.

Saltburn - hell yeah
On the fence with Saltburn.  One thing I am not on the fence about is there was entirely too much dong at the end.

I'm pretty apathetic about it (because I expected it), but I'm mostly just happy for you guys.

I believe you are happy for us, but I don't believe that you expected it after seeing our last few games.

I wrote down my prediction on this very blog. It's documented.
Hedging and expecting are not the same thing.

Thanks, guys. I will sit back and contribute nothing to this project while we take that money from you without your informed consent. Thanks for taking it in stride.  :Carl:
Not the way STAR Bonds work, but go off King I suppose.

Wrestlers on Netflix is pretty fun if you like white trash reality
I hate both white trash and reality, so I will probably give this one a miss.

Dillon Gabriel is portalling out of OU.

I got a 12" GreenWorks 60V chainsaw from TSC.  It's a POS that can't cut more than a few 3" bushes.  The battery is huge so the saw is heavy and it doesn't last.  Would not recommend it, but I don't know about other brands.
Damnett katpappy, I ended up buying a 60v 16 in bar but was only $150. Hoping to just use it for smaller locust trees and things of that nature. Will report back how shitty or great it is
I have an EGO 16" bar that actually works pretty well.  It is over twice what you paid tho.

Beebe going in first round, cats playing in back to back Dr. peps and that brain genius wants to go to lincoln where he will play under at least 2 different coaches.

not sure he could qualify at KSU if we are being honest
Someone should tell him the story of Turner Corcoran.

CUNNINGHAM 52, TESCOTT 6

Defending six-player champion Cunningham easily put itself in position for a second straight crown, finishing off Tescott by halftime of their semifinal.

Dagim Reed's 26-yard field goal supplied the victory-clinching points for the Wildcats, who have surrendered just 12 points since an opening-week loss to Ashland.

The Wildcats scored on their first offensive play and led 32-0 at the end of the first quarter. Senior fullback Jack Ruckle ran for two touchdowns and junior Luke Albers finished with a pair of TDs, one on a 46-yard pass from junior Will Wegerer.
Preliminary research indicates that this might not be a white person name/shame situation.
oh crap... I'm going to take a break from this thread for a while.

no no, you're good. They did the brotha dirty
Further research indicates it is Ethopian and means "again or repeat".

Rex Van Wyhe appears to be a pretty good player and somewhat of a unit, tho.  He is listed at 6'5" 236lbs.   :Wha:

Downloaded the barstool betting app last year and collected my $200 in bonus bets and used it for all of last year.

Switched over to draftkings this year to get the new bonuses and forgot about my barstool app which just got rebranded to BetESPN.

Logged back in and I still had a couple of dollars in there so I placed a $1 bet and immediately got the $200 in bonus bets again.

Hot tip: use your free money to bet both sides of a game.  That way you are guaranteed to win and you turn your fake money into real money.  Or just be an idiot like me and bet it all against Texas playing Alabama because Texas is a fraud again.

That game was way closer than it should have been.  5 turnovers including a fumble on the 1.
They had a scoop and score that would have been overturned by replay as well.   :shakesfist:

The New Joe Montgomery Birther Pit / Re: Israel - Hamas peace process
« on: November 07, 2023, 03:53:09 PM »
I thought hezbollah was going to open up a two front war on Israel if they sent troops into Gaza?  Maybe it just takes time.
The Hezbollah grand poobah's speech was basically "we celebrate Hamas killing Jews and we could unleash our full wrath against the Zionist Oppressor but we aren't going to do anything different right now." The podcast also brought up the question of "what was Hamas' plan for October 8?" Provoking Israel to generate more death and agony for the Palestinians is a huge victory for Hamas but were they trying to accomplish some sort of larger strategic goal?
Well israel went from almost signing a peace agreement with Saudi, to Saudi hosting the Iranian President in Riyadh to work together on the Gaza issue.

Meanwhile Israel has killed 4,000 children, has tried to appeal to its allies to force Gazans to leave Gaza through the Rafa gate and has announced that they will occupy Gaza after the war is over, which provides Hamas an occupying force to target.

I would say it has basically gone better than Hamas could have possibly hoped for.
Where do these casualty numbers come from?  Are there observers on the ground in Gaza?  The UN?

I like games where you can just do your own thing and don't have to do the missions...is that what this is?

I think I'm going to buy the big fancy new xbox later this month, and that game looks interesting.
I have heard it described as Skyrim in space.

So this time last year I basically couldn’t leave my apartment. It would be another 4 weeks that I officially went on short term disability at work.

I’ve been struggling a lot lately with what I assume is PTSD from everything. I recently upped my dosage of Remicade. Can still increase the frequency if needed.

I have a lot of days where I feel weird being able to walk, sit, drive, even going outside. What I went through is still very real and present. It’s been very hard working through. Add in other things and it’s just been rough.

I have and am doing better since I started my Remicade in November but the lasting effects of this rough ridin' awful condition linger every day.
Have you considered going to a counselor to deal with the mental side of things?  Sounds like it could be a benefit to you. My sister is a counselor and there are definitely techniques that can help you process and integrate the trauma you experienced.
