probably had something to do with vandy being a dogshit program forever, can't speak for everyone tho

Good info here:  http://www.winsipedia.com/kansas-state

Vandy is 2-0 vs. KSU on the "forever" record between the two teams.  I was also surprised that KSU only has a winning record (at 1-0 vs. Tennessee) with a mere one team in the ENTIRE SEC ..... with that kind of conference dominance I apologize for the rudeness of the "SEC, SEC" chant that broke out during our game.

The thing that really surprised was that Mizzou treats ya'll like a rented mule.  If fact, Mizzou's advantage over KSU is about the same percentage of wins that Vandy, being "that dogshit program forever," has against Alabama.  To be dominated by Mizzou like Vandy is dominated by AL is a tough mantle to bear so we can sympathize together.

I was sorting through some stacks on my office desk and noticed the August 14 Sports Illustrated college football preview issue.  It says with respect to KSU that "a non-conference schedule highlighted by Vanderbilt [9/16] could hold them back."  In the South, we call that prescient.

I'll cut ya'll some slack for thinking Vandy was in Memphis but glad that so many found their way to Nashville anyway.  Still, I don't understand how all that "gonna throttle them" talk came about.  The Bama faithful aren't even seeming as confident as did the KSU herd.

If KyDore would've shown his fat face around here before the game I would've offered to meet him at the Commodore Vanderbilt statue to give him a good old fashioned ass whoopin'

I thought that I saw you mixing it up with someone outside a local eatery.

I don't know that it was such a bad football game.   There are often two perspectives on these things.  I was just really suprised that KSU had such a one-dimensional offense.

Where were you before the game? No confidence in Vandy, wonder why that was?

I wish that I'd known of this site prior to the game so that I could have engaged ya'll, shared recommendations, and enjoyed some good nature barb-trading.

That being said, I didn't know that KSU had many fans or this site.   We, admittedly, are probably consumed with the excellence of the SEC and don't cast our interest as far as we should.

As for your specific question about confidence.  I admit that with a 3-4 point spread in the game, that regardless of which side of the spread that I was on I wouldn't not have been sufficiently confident to start a thread entitled "We're going to absolutely throttle K-State."  Not only that, but I wouldn't have had 17 pages of folks agreeing with me.  I suggest that the confidence expressed in the thread was bordering on, to borrow a phrase, irrational exhuberance.  All the while, I appreciate a good troll.

I reiterate, that I was extremely expressed with the friendliness and sportsmanship of your fans.  I didn't encounter anyone who struck me as out of line in any way.  Congrats ..... that is in many ways the bigger game.

No one likes a liar

I agree wholeheartedly.

I will also say that the KSU fans with whom I visited were very nice folks and I thought it was great that so many visited Nashville and had such a great time irrespective of football.

I also enjoy good message board banter from time to time!  This thread has been fun and ya'll give a good pre-game roasting.

I can't imagine being so poor that I'd have to drive to Colorado from memphis

There is a stage in life where one has the luxury of doing what one wants to do.  I've got five vacation residences in addition to my primary residence so have learned that the journey is as important as the destination.  We learn those things in a liberal arts education and it helps smooth over some of the bumps life throws one's way.  I know that I can't project when a tumbleweed will start tumbling but I've picked up a few life skills along the way.

I'm sitting here watching two dolphin pods from my 40 foot wraparound oceanfront balcony ... what's your view?

I'm trying to find your coach's post-game press conference video .. anyone have a link?

Just fly you poor loser

And miss the home of Bob Dole .... perish the thought.

To segue, in restrospect might ya'll have been a bit over-confident in the throttling aspect of your predictions?

The Department of Tourism needs to get its act together and recruit a new Taco John's franchisee then.  That exit has/had food and gas so it is a vital cog in interstate commerce.

How regionally dumb are you to not know how to use GPS?

No need to GPS across Kansas ...... there's only one main road and it connects Missouri to Colorado. So, one is always going either to Missouri or to Colorado.  But, there's a Taco John's not too far from Colorado so it's not like there isn't anything in Kansas (other than the World's Largest Prairie Dog attraction).

Well you sound like a dumbass so that makes sense

We probably went to different law schools.  There are regional differences.

Someone asked me if beating k-state was "like beating Akron" and I told him that we haven't played Akron so I really didn't know.  But, I can say that beating lil'-k is about as satisfying as beating Middle Tennessee except we gave up 1 more point to lil'-k due to a ridiculous defensive breakdown.  Middle had a far more sophisticated, more multi-dimensional, offense so our defense was a good bit better in that game.

While I was obviously for Vandy this game, I generally pull for Southwest Conference teams so best of luck.

I pulled off I-70 at the Manhattan exit on my drive to Colorado last year to get gas but there wasn't a town there.
