We got perry.  :bwpopcorn: :doom:

He's good.

Congrats.

Sorry to steal your bro, but also if you get more top shelf bros, send us those bros, k?

Gotta let 'em go when they wanna make bad choices for themselves.

Coach wants to celebrate a 6th place Big 12 conference finish by taking his team out to Applebee's, only to crash into a runaway tumbleweed or some tweaker driving his Toyota Tundra on the wrong side of a sandblasted farm-to-market road, and Transfer Portal his way from Hell on Earth to literal Hell?

Well... Good luck, Grant. Or Greg, Geoff, whatever his name was. Have fun in Amarillo's septic tank. Hope you get out before your wife leaves you, or child protective services takes your kids away for abuse, given that you're making them live in Lubbock now.

As for Perry? If he wants to trade God's most magnificent shade of green for some off-brand polyester Barney cosplay outfit instead? If he wants to leave the program that won college basketball's TRUE national championship (pre-shot clock and integration era) for some other tournament's also-ran? If he'd rather leave Texas's premiere basketball school for the 3rd proudest basketball institution in Kansas?

Well, good luck to him, I suppose. And to you fellows, of course. Strong contenders for my second-favorite college fandom on the internet. Enjoy our sloppy seconds, as we'll just move on to some newer, more supple and loyal teen instead.

[Seriously... Good kid, good player. Hope he does well for you guys.]

You guys remember when we whipped their ass in OKC?

I do remember that... Vaguely. It was a long time ago.

As a newly-minted national basketball powerhouse, we prefer to live in the world visible through the beautiful windshield, not the rear view mirror.

My sources are all speaking Greek.

Nobody calls, nobody emails, nobody sends a Christmas card.

Lines are open... Taking questions.

You guys should hire Petros.  Why don't you?

Strong question. Petros means "rock". And North Texas is a little bit country, not a little bit rock and roll.

Also, I think that having some experience as a coach is probably a good prerequisite for a coaching job with us. Maybe it's presumptuous, but I like to presume a certain standard anyway.

Christ, he already targets our same recruits

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don't know why he isn't on your radar... Maybe you guys just fell in love with LittreLL and can't see past him.

And I understand why. It's not like every single place LittreLL has ever coached in his life has hired a new HC since he started at North Texas without bothering to interview him. GA at Kansas, OC at Arizona and Indiana... And of course, coached at Texas Tech and North Carolina, who both hired new coaches just last month. I'm sure whatever reasoning made UNC decide to prop up the mummified corpse of Mack Brown was very compelling.

And when you can bring in a coach with the raw sex appeal of Matt Wells?

Good god, no wonder LittreLL isn't going to Tech. Kirby Hocutt was probably leaning over his own desk, pants around ankles and contract ready for signature as soon as Wells stormed into Lubbock and hit him with his own Dockers-dropping version of Blue Steel.

Makes perfect sense. LittreLL never had a real fair shake there.

Hot

You broke my heart. All over this thread, and not even a private message my way?

At least set me up for some jokes here.

are you happy about losing him or mad or sad?

He's not gone yet. But I can't blame him for moving on if the opportunity is there. And I can't fault you guys for going after him. Any time you can get the 4th place coach in CUSA, I think you have to go for it.

Will I miss all the bowl wins? The Conference Championships? Of course. But, if you take Graham Harrell with him, I'm cautiously optimistic.

So who's the top coach in your conference?

This year? Bill Clark at UAB, according to the regular season standings and the championship game.

OK thx.  BTY, that team's only been back for two years and I don't know much about him.  I haven't heard of him as a hot coach for a P5 spot.  What have you heard?

Guy pulls almost nothing but JUCOs, transfers, and 2-stars out of high school. Seems to win with them.

If you're the sort of school that fishes in those ponds, could be a great fit.

Is he a skoal man?

Maybe? He does look a little like a Down Syndrome Joliet Jake. I think he got his education at Oklahoma instead of Woodstock.

I'm getting old... Is this a drugs question?

I'd say he's a lot likelier to be "cool" than Coach Peepaw... Assuming the controlled substance in question isn't the old cocaine toothache drops that Snyder might have bought back in the late 1800s.

You guys are chasing a North Texas coach and nobody turned on my batsignal?

I'm ready for questions. AMA.

Well, well, well... Now, all you have to do is beat America's Post-UMBC Sweetheart, Loyola, and you're in the Final Four. For the first time in so long, Herbert Hoover was alive to see the last one.

Lifetime contract? Question, no inside info.

Also, if you guys DO knock off Loyola to go with your UMBC scalp... What's next? What else can you destroy that everyone else in the world loves? Can you schedule an exhibition against a basket full of puppies and just drown them all at half court? Beat up Santa Claus? Release a surveillance video showing oscar Weber unplugged Stephen Hawking last week?

You're all monsters, is what I'm saying. Other than beating Kentucky, every good thing that's happening or will happen for you this tournament is a crime against the rest of humanity.

I'm still rooting for you all, and I hope that oscar Weber teabags that Loyola nun on camera before he cuts down the net.

But you should all feel terrible about the good things happening for you.

Shame.

Academic scoreboarding is for athletic losers. Save that stuff for people who need moral victories. Maybe send a library card to Shaka Smart, along with condolences.

A 9 seed has never lost to a 16 in tournament history. Just start practicing your gracious winner speeches.

So, first time checking in here in a while... When you guys beat UMBC and then Buffalo, and Weber takes you the first Elite Eight in almost a decade, he's obviously getting a statue. This is inevitable and unavoidable.

My question is: When they make a 12 foot bronze Weber and put him out in front of Bramlage for the rest of time... What brand of lawnmower will he be pushing?

Follow-up question: Bronze is currently trading at $1.85 per pound. Will you need to crowdfund the materials for the lawnmower? And, if so, how can I chip in?

  welcome back

All of our talk about 2010 must have awaken TTG

Love you guys. Once they flashed the next round matchup for UMBC, I knew I had to come visit.

Honestly didn't realize until today that Lawnmower Man was still your head coach. That's a real bitch of a situation... Golden road to the Sweet 16 and beyond, but all it does is buy him an extension. Lucky for me, North Texas disbanded the basketball program 6 years ago, so I never have to worry about this sort of Sophie's Choice.

It's like making a deal with Satan to marry a supermodel, and then once the ink is dry he hands you a Lane Bryant catalog.

Thoughts and prayers, gang. Thoughts and prayers.

Had to get a head start on lawnmowing season.

TastyGreek, if I'm not sure you saw our 2011 football season. But if Bill can survive that, he can survive this.

I was just goofing.

LHC Bill Snyder survived 3 world wars, the dust bowl, the great depression, black plague, the volcanic eruption at Pompeii, and the French Revolution. He can handle this, I'm sure.

He probably told Weber to set up a comeback like this so the crowd reaction would wake him up from his afternoon nap. Puppetmaster.

20
If you guys don't slow down, you're going to kill LHC Bill Snyder. His heart can't take this comeback.

Ooof... Bruisewitz again.

Sorry, guise. I'll be pulling for you.

KSU is Phil Bennett's BITCH !!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, well, KSU at least can watch Back to the Future without cringing.
I bet he posts AC/DC's "Thunderstruck" to Bill's wall tonight.

Art Briles gave Phil Bennett the game ball, tickets to a Lou Christie concert, and sideline passes to Rice's final game of the regular season.

Full disclosure: Wife is a Baylor grad. I have a soft spot for you K-Staters. Been to both Manhattan and Waco on multiple occasions.

If Nancy Bennett had died because Jan Miller lured her out into a cornfield and killed her with a cattle prod... Then Baylor could claim Moral Scoreboard. If we're judging Big 12 alumni by message board behavior, I believe BaylorFans is a casus castratus enough to justify forced sterilization as part of the freshman orientation process in Waco.

Nobody can wag fingers here.

This arbitration is non-binding, but I encourage you all to accept my ruling. Otherwise, we're going back to The Horror and Pottawatomie.

Side note: Very, very sorry for you, EMAWs. Just proves that no one can ever have anything nice, ever. Thougtsnprayrs all around.

please don't ever leave

I have little to contribute on a long-term basis here. But I do like to stop by and visit from time to time.

Just for you guys, I'm holding out on the wife. Not putting out until further notice. Doing what I can to strike back against Baylor nation on your behalf.

My Amazon review: This book is nothing but short stories. Haven't found a single good reason in here yet.

Anyone have an "It Gets Better" video that might help? Depressed gay teenagers have all the luck; nothing out there for the devastated basketball fan.
