dude ku is easily gonna be preseason top-4 nationally

Ku Duke and Nova are the 3 top teams to start next season.

If Nova only loses Brunson & Bridges, then they would be my #1.  Otherwise Ku likely #1. But that is just Pre-Season #1

This was before Newman and Vick declared. They’ll reload and probably win the Big 12 as usual, but not top 3. If Azubuike declares I really like our chances.

Trice committed. As excited as I've been for a Juco big.

Yep, good move. The fact that he explicitly mentioned preserving college eligibility makes me think he’ll be back. Happy for him either way, selfishly hope he’s back. Dean will do the same thing.

5
Hurts now but hard not to be optimistic. eff this loss but proud of our guys.

6
It terrifies me that Vegas is begging people to bet on the Cats.
A lot of people are pretty high on the cinderella. I think the line is about right to get half the money on each side

Either Mount Rushmore of K-State wins or heartbreak for me. Nerves through the roof

holy eff oscar. What a game. Sneed is a damn man

Why is oscar letting anyone know how we plan to use Dean? Not saying Cal wouldn’t draw his own conclusions, but why give them any sort of blueprint? It’s times like these that I appreciate Snyder’s hush demeanor.

“Hopefully he plays so they don’t have an excuse.”  :jerk:

God I’d love to beat their asses, hope we shoot well.

winning Big XII POY has 0 impact on where a player will be drafted.

What would NBA teams like him to improve on at K-State that will make him more valuable/NBA ready in 2019?

Beating KU. Have heard scouts love players that beat the crap out of the Jayhawks.

Sucks if true, but if I was him I wouldn’t want to risk it either

I haven’t been paying attention but is Wade a legit NBA prospect?  I love Claws, but quickly sorted through a handful of recently updated mock drafts and I didn’t see him listed in the first or second rounds
I really doubt he's declaring this year.
If he’s smart he’ll declare and take the free workouts/scouting. Then hopefully come back and lead us to a Big 12 title.
He should definitely test the waters, but I think he could really improve his stock by coming back. I think that's the feedback he will get too.
We’re on the same page. Would love to see him add a Big 12 POY to his resume.

Off the social media grid for Lent. Is this set in stone? Saw he was game-time decision but wouldn’t be surprised at all if he didn’t play. I found it hard to believe that a stress fracture would cause him to sit out the Big 12 semis vs the rival, but a week later he’d be good to go.

15
Ned’s right. You don’t have to like oscar to understand he’s here for the foreseeable future. Don’t know if I agree with the “even if we lose by 30 and Foster scores 50, oscar’s here to stay” part, but absent something dramatic we’re not getting rid of him.

Stop being cheep and buy a ticket, joaks.
Gotta save up for the championship tomorrow

I owe you folks an apology. Was more than ready to let the Dean news get in the way of day drinking and watching Barry go off for 30, but Ben Ji and others have inspired me. When Barry drops 30+, Sneed starts draining baseline 3’s, Mawein double doubles all over Lightfoot, and we ruin the Hawks 1 seed chances, what PnL bar will you be watching in?

18
That still won't stop me from taking a half day tomorrow and attempting to power booze the katz to the Phillips 66 finals. Will be down in PnL around 3pm with some bros just crushing light domestic lagers.

You’re a stronger man than me.

19
I will not watch tomorrow if Wade isn't playing

I was going to go watch it at P&L in the sea of Hawk fans but there’s no chance I put myself through that without Dean.

20
Are we discussing Dean rumors here?

Yes

For anyone not up to speed, rumor mill is saying Dean is out tomorrow with a stress fracture in his foot. Haven’t heard anyone credible report on it, but doesn’t mean it’s not true. Checking with my usual insiders has been fruitless so far.

What seed when we win the Big12 Tournament Trophy?

You’d have to think 6 seed, no?

I'm not saying they won't, but at what point does this OU fight really happen? Their last 4 losses in this 6 game slide have been by 8, 10, 11, and 30. I don't see much wounded dog mentality from this team, but maybe we will Saturday. Honestly, I still don't think they will defend and their biggest hope at this point is Young going off for 40 or something.

You’re probably right, but at some point I’d think the possibility of missing out on the tourney altogether would light a fire under their asses. A home game against a beatable opponent seems like an opportune time to gather their wits.

With that being said, they’ve had a quite a few chances to do that during the 2-9 stretch and haven’t shown any fight apart from the KU win. But this is the first time I’ve heard any legimitate bubble talk. Their huge wins will get them in at 18, maybe 17 wins, but I wouldn’t feel safe about being on the right side of the bubble finishing 1-2 or worse—which I think is likely if they lose Saturday.

I hope I’m wrong—the last month would certainly suggest that I am—but I don’t expect them to lie over and die here. But hey, even an above average effort from OU doesn’t seal a win if we come out hot. Hope the road Cats of late show up.

I think we'll go 1-1 @ OU and @ TCU and feel better about going to Fort Worth than Norman. We can and absolutely should beat OU if they keep up the post-KU slump, but I think we'll see a different team fighting for their lives.

Either way, I'll be happy with 1-1, so long as we beat Baylor at home to close it out. 2-1 in this stretch puts us at no worse than 4th with a pretty good chance at 3rd. Miles better than what I expected at the beginning of the year, or even two weeks ago coming off the ass whooping @ WVU.

OSU 82
Cats 72

The good news is we surpass the 60 point threshold that has been missing in 4 out of the last 5 games  :excited:

Almost had it, forgot to account for Stockard going off and pokes shooting 25% in the first half

Heart: Cats win a close one, 78-74. Dean gets his, Kamau finally hits double digits for the first time since the comeback. Message board posts are optimistic.

Head: Cats have trouble shooting, but keep it relatively close until the second half. Makol gets his 4th foul around the under 12:00 and we start chucking threes and fouling. Cats lose 72-65. oscar-firing threads are revamped (and I’m a contributor).
