Probably that one year they were kinda good.
Was this actually proposed by a professional design firm or just some rival fan trolling?
I hope KU paid no more than $5k to the Intern that ripped off TCU's stadium or HSK Dallas reusing its previous project. I even tried to paste near carbon copy images from google. (Look it up, you can find near identical vantage points from available media)
It appears like a pseudo Ryan field update/ Wrigley field update south of Addison that people lambast about that doesn't fit the neighborhood.
Looks like a major missed opportunity.
There is absolutely no way the final product ends up looking like that. The stadium's final capacity is currently set at 41,000.
The rendering looks like it holds double that.
Also, where's the limestone???
Limestone is a material, not a design. Plenty of K-Staters get too excited about limestone so I get them leaking that but just saying there is a lot of limestone means nothing.
So is KU going with brick or limestone nowadays?
Did I say limestone was a design? I thought I followed that up with a design. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.
I must be beyond the age threshold to care about this. Which makes sense because I'm incredibly old.
The have a tarp on their stadium now, a la Baylor.
Those are shitty seats, and demolition starts in December. Renderings apparently are being released tomorrow.
KU twitter all horned up for today.

I'm interested to see what they have for us because we already do a ton of retro stuff
Yes, most of what I see looks like common stuff I have, ‘47 I think.
That’s a good grift.
Wasn't '47, just something sold on the rack at dillard's in wichita. The white one worn at og pak was from the place in aggieville where all the kaws places are now.
I think Nebraska should focus on fired/disgraced coaches who are looking for that one last chance to prove they have it.Art Briles
That is the most perfect recommendation ever. If he could hold up Lawrence Phillips as the ideal Husker for all to model after.
I really wouldn't put any disgraced coach beneath them. Urban, Gruden, or Briles would not surprise me.

Don't listen to them Tom, FCS matters too particularly our leathernecks.
If both schools stay until the GOR is up, the remaining 8 will only get $10,000,000 each. That's not much toward that cost of Bramlage, it's going to likely be high 8 figures, if not $100 million plus. They should take that money, and put it in an endowment for athletics only. $10 million would yield half a million dollars in interest annually.
The idea of pouring of 100 million into Bramlage is very
Virginia Tech recently did a renovation of their arena that was only the seating bowl that cost $90 million. The Bramlage renovation will be interior and exterior.
I mean the fact that we're already going to do extensive renovations and for the last decade+ have been making improvements is a very good thing. There are arenas in the conference that are older and not any better than Bramlage that haven't and won't be touched. Hilton isn't any better than Bramlage, just bigger. Nether is Lloyd Noble. We could leave Bramlage untouched and it would still be just fine in the realm of college basketball arenas. It's cool that were going to have an NBA style arena.

I know there are other threads for stupid unrealistic facilities dreams, but I have always thought that revaming Ahearn to hold 8K or so would be fun, and make over half of it student seating...completely encircle the floor with first level student section and make a small upper deck almost all luxury seating and club for alumni who cough up cash.
Edgy people on this blog trash this Ahearn pipe dream but I have it too. Yes Ahearn sucks. Yes it's hot garbage and would be exorbitantly expensive to revamp. But arenas with history are cool too every once in a while for a small handful of non-con games a year, 'specially for those of us townie qat fans who are of the age where we just barely missed seeing a game in legendary 'hearn but grew up with everyone we know telling us how incredible it was. We all want luxury suites and jumbotrons long-term, but eff it...if we're playing Southern Utah, I'd stomach ancient and decrepit facilities to be able to enjoy a little history I missed out on. Especially if we use the old 1960s-era scoreboard where the game clock appeared to be an actual clock. You got a problem with my Ahearn pipe dream? Meet me up on the weird rafter/catwalk/press area (???) thing and we can settle this the way Dick Knostman and Lew Hitch would've.
DAMN! Someone else found the money, this dude didn't even have a losing record. One losing season out of the last 6 and that was exactly 1 game below .500
