Other Sports (Tiger's Back) / Re: Bowling Master thread.

first time seeing this thread. I used to be a p good bowler. Don't do it very often anymore so i would have to go 3 or 4 times to get back into form. Anyway, anytime someone (probably not good bowler) suggests "let's go bowling!" i am like hard pass b/c here's the thing, i know its nerdy but i'm good at it and i don't enjoy being meh at it. So no, i'm not going to use house shoes and throw a 120 with a house ball that doesn't fit my hand very well b/c that will be incredibly not fun for me. I also don't want to be the guy who brings his own ball and shoes and throws a 225 while everyone else is just happy to break 100.

p sure nobody has ever accused TMZ of having basic human decency or showing even a modicum of compassion/sensitivity to the people involved.

this is the problem with coaching turnover. While it seems obvious to anyone who has been around the program, someone (head coach maybe?) has to remind these kids to commit their crimes exclusively in the city of lawrence (probably also johnson county but let's not be greedy) but like, the WORST thing you can do as a ku student athlete is to commit a crime in the state of missouri. lessons learned, i suppose.

wasn't a steal. grabbed a long rebound then ran out a flashy alley-oop as time expired to cut the margin of victory from 14 to 12. Nothing worth throwing a chair over.

more psi in the leg of a stool than the broad side. better for causing damage to vital organs

I agree with Spracne that the cats clearing the bench was wrong and escalated the events. However in the broader picture, watching de stoolsa stand over your teammate and use his dong to brush gordon's teeth and be like "this is fine lets go shake hands" would be infinitely worse. Teammates are going to jump to the defense of their teammates when they are being unnecessarily humiliated and if anyone can't wrap their brain around that then i guess i don't know what to tell you.

p'cla as you know i've been the assistant strength and conditioning coach for Spud's pee wee heupz team for several years now and last night in the locker room before pregame warm could tell Spud was in a dark place. The violence he witnessed, he was trying to put on a brave face but it was obvious that it really disturbed him. As a fellow PromiseKeeper I just wanted to bring this to your attention first before i said anything to anyone else, but believe me when I say we are all #teamspud #spudsbuds

Greg if I'm being completely honest, at this point I think 2TRAIGHT might be in jeopardy.

just curious, anyone else have a bad 2019 (from an overall health and fitness standpoint) and decide to get things back on track in 2020?

Meanwhile our current dork is probably posing with Hacksaw Jim Dougan and posting it to angelfire
Meanwhile, we have the #21 recruiting class compared to SCU's jelly
Recruiting class smack is definitely something winners do

Great opportunity for northern Iowa to knock off a top 10 team

anyone who doesn't realize this team is destined for an 11 seed is a gigantic idiot.

I had been looking forward to The Outsider and the first two episodes have grabbed me by the balls. Moving a little faster than I anticipated.

I'm going to stay with it, but it's like every single damn HBO drama not named succession or game of thrones. I feel like HBO dramas are one continual show called  The True Leftovers Outside of the Watchman's Dark Materials.

I have several questions.

Which of those shows is futuristic? Watchmen is set predominantly in 2019, with some flashbacks to 2008 and the 80s. His Dark Materials has parallel universes, one of which appears to be present day based on their use of iphones but nothing about it seems especially futuristic?
The leftovers I guess i don't remember anything about the show that would indicate that it was anything other than present day. Its been a while since i watched the show but they didn't seem to have any technologies that are any different than we have now.

Your other descriptors...unexplained paranormal mysteries...well unexplained and mysteries are redundant, and then for something to be paranormal that also means unexplained but just like, more specifically it is a mystery that science cannot explain.

So...i guess my question here is are you suggesting these shows are all the same because they all contain the element of some kind of mystery that defies scientific explanation?

Sorry just trying to better understand the nature of your position.  i'll listen off air thanks go cats.

1917 was v good. Very intense. Visually stunning

I’ve been jazzed about this movie coming out.  After learning more about WWI (thank you Hardcore History) I find it much more interesting and intense than WWII.

Agreed, Dan Carlin is a large part of why I find WWI so fascinating
