the boys would be better if it was 80% superhero/vought stuff and 20% boring heuwie/butcher/frenchie/MM stuff.

Yeah, they are working pretty hard to develop something there when it's not necessary.  They probably could have Butcher say something other than $!#* too?  Not that I don't mind it.

I totally agree that that the emotional side plot stuff takes away from the show.  Perhaps they are just trying to fill time and cut the fx budget?  Also, I get the feeling that Butcher moving on from his ex-wife and her bastard is too good to be true.

The foot thick hotel pillows that flatten down to 1 inch are infuriating

Totally agree.

Three pillows for me as well. Primary under my head, and one on either side for legs and/or arm so that I don't have to drag a pillow with me when I roll over.

Over the last decade or two, it would be interesting to see how much KU has paid to football coaches no longer coaching their team versus the amount paid to coaches actively coaching their team.

The Boys new season has some doozy episodes and absurdly boring episodes.  And this whole scientology thing with The Deep is odd as hell. Overall, I am enjoying it though.

Pete, have you ever watched the expanse?

I have, and I liked and thought it was OK, but I had read the book so it was a little annoying when they went against the book with a couple characters, and made them pretty cheesy compared to the book.  I didn't watch the second season of the expanse, because I didn't like the second book of the Expanse (stopped reading it midway through and I almost never do that).

I watched the first episode of Raised by Wolves on HBO MAX last night.  Very cool sci fi concept, and is well made.  I will tune in for more.
Definitely sci fi for sci fi lovers.

I’m not huge sci fi so it doesn’t have my balls YET

I have watched 3 episodes, and hit has me good. I'm a sci fi lover though, and a fan of some of the spiritual/theological dilemma stuff.  I am digging its implied "spirituality vs religion" vibe.  Also, badass androids and space travel always win with me.

The latest episode (7) of Ted Lasso was just what the doctor ordered after today’s defeat.

It was terrific.  I watched it on Friday night, but I should have saved it for Saturday night.  I will do that going forward.

I enjoy that Nebraska thinks the Big 10 gives two fucks about Nebraska's opinions on anything.

I bet the Nebraska defense handed out some knuckle sandwiches to the offense that night.

Watched the first episode of the Morning Show on Apple TV+, starring Rachel from Friends and Michael Scott from the office.  Pretty good, but basically copies the entire Matt Lauer concept in the first episode.  We'll see if they continue with the West Wing or Law and Order SVU approach of "ripped from the headlines."

My soon-to-be 13 year old is very serious about this stuff, and will likely have his heart set on the X for Christmas.  I might just ask for the S if there isn't a clear difference in the games that it can push.  I don't care about the hard drive size, because I almost never have need of more than 2 games on my machine at any given time (usually just 1 at a time).

Yeah I'm not sure that's right.  Regardless, it's not important who said it, just that somebody said it.

Yes.  Things like this are the perfect opportunity to use passive voice.  It has been said.

Emdiggy still needs to get his ass in here and respect his biggest fans and those that helped make him the star that he is today.  One of you heroes needs to address this.

Also, clams has been really negligent on his burner coverage this year.

it's pretty damn creepy/sick in cobra kai when daniel decides to steal johnny's son

I got up to the Johnny's son having dinner at Daniels house with daughter and fam and adorable latinex Johnny student showing up at the door of Daniel's house, and I just had to turn it off.  I couldn't watch that impending pain.

If Les doesn't work out, you can't blame Jeff Long.  He's not a medical doctor, he could have never foreseen the unfortunate mental decline of an employee, and would have very probably been prohibited from speculating about it during the hiring process should he have had any inclinations.  Just bad luck for Jeff. Oh well, hoops still predicted to win the conference.
