The person who made this is definitely a hack and EMAW at the same time. HACKMAW

Hey honey, I know we just put on that awesome Titletown car-tag, but can I get the old one?

Why?

Gonna make a dust pan out of it to sell on eBay.

Oh, okay but no one is going to buy that crap for more than 5 dollars, right?

I know we can get at least $20, the market for KSTATEO products is good right now!

How about a dust pan? More like an ash pan for #teamburnitdown. Yours for only $21.

frank had already missed on sprads' evaluation, I can see why he was gun shy.

:opcat: Don't even compare Sprads to Baker. Night and Day athletically. Plus Sprads is a 1-2 gaurd. Baker is a pure 3 with slashing ability.

My buddy was Baker's AAU coach and to be fair he had to beg WSU to take him. Yes, Frank brought in Baker, but would never offer. Signed James Watson instead.  :flush: Still one of the  :barf: of being a Cats fan.  Went to Larry Bud's one night in the summer with the WSU assistant coaches and they were just crushing Frank's class especially for them stealing Baker for nothing.

Been at the Juco tourney the last couple days. Not sure if anyone is getting Franked/Bruced this summer, but I would give up 2 guys if it meant we got Darius Carter (Vincennes) and Devin Brooks (Iowa Western). They are easily the best 2 unsigned juco guys I saw at the tournament.

Carter is a 6-7 big with a very versatile game and has the ability to be a strech 4. Had 31 tonight against 6-8 and 6-10 guys from NW Florida CC. Hit a couple pick and pop 3's and has a great back to basket post game and knack for offensive rebounding. Would be our best post right now.

Devin Brooks was the best guard in the tourney. Definitely outplayed and contained 1st team AA Chris Jones (L'ville signee) yesterday.  Even better, is Brook's quick release and ability to get his own shot at anytime. Big time clutch shooter. Would be a true 2 and has 1 guard ability. Better than anyone on our roster at the guard position as well including ARod.

Hutch High had a kid that I am family friends with that absolute shut him down in Sub State. Held him to like 13 points. Hutch plays extremely physical and aggressive defense. Kid that guarded him is tough as nails and would be a great indication of how he will be guarded at the D1 level. FYI he is 5' 6" with shoes on. CF had a good 4 inches on him and couldn't get clean shots off.

"help defense" just cracks me up every time I hear it.  would love for him to ever explain that.

Pretty sure this is his way of saying they aren't over denying passing lanes anymore. Playing more help and recover on dribble penetration that the defender is 1 pass away. Also weak-side guys that are 2 passes away are on "tape" or near the middle of the lane for rotations and backside doubling of the post.

More importantly we now hedge hard on P&R's and have weak side guys at "tape" for the roll guy until the bigs recover from the hedge. It has worked, more importantly we have made it harder for guards to turn the corner and get easy dribble penetration for easy shots or pitches for set shooters or lobs to the bigs.

Rod's buzzer beater was pretty great, but this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIMFvCYBXCM&feature=youtu.be

Perfect example of why you always cover the guy inbounding the ball.   ;)

Perfect example of why you let your guys play it out and not call a TO. Even the best screw up at times. Bet Izzo wishes he wouldn't have called that TO. If you look at the replay they had a guy 1 on 1 with 4 defenders trailing. Good chance to get to the glass and get a great shot since they don't want to foul.

Instead, he called a TO. Defense gets to setup, Izzo sends out 3 bigs that stand at the 3 point line which Michigan sags off for potential backpicks and Michigan covers the only scorers and MSU gets no shot to end it.

KU's road to the title game... 15 Detriot, 10 Purdue, 11 NC State, UNC (w/o 1-Gaurd Marshall). Ohio State was their only good win, they skated through the rest and found a way to win. Yeah, your right that team was so much better than this years version. :jerk:

Still waiting to hear on how we would be able to score points vs. teams this year with Frank coaching? Get to the foul line and shoot in the 60's? Great concept, how about over deny and apply ball pressure with guys that can't play that type of defense so they foul every other time down the court.

You can like Frank all you want, but the guy was a hack. If he was a true teacher he would teach guys how to shoot, how to defend smarter without fouling, how to run a rough ridin' offense with some continuity and ability to get open shots.

No what did he do... Lets get up and play as physical as possible to try to get TO's ... "they can't call all the fouls" Fail
Hey on offense lets dribble around and bury our heads and hope to either kick out to guys that are covered and can't shoot and maybe we can get an offensive rebound or truck dudes and maybe the refs will bail us out to shoot free throws that we can't make. Fail

Hey fuktards tell me how we would score with Frank and this team instead of circle jerking about if I'm trolling your ass.

KU is debatable, but McLemore is going to be taken earlier in the draft than Robinson was. Withey can actually score out of the post this year and their other seniors are playing at a much higher level and are more efficient than last year. (Young, Johnson, Releford)

Frank wouldn't have developed these guys offensive abilities. Never was able to. Who was a prolific scorer/ offensive threat not named Walker, Beasley or Pullen or a transfer? No way we are able to score. I mean really, I want to know how we would score vs Big XII teams? We would be a richman's WVU or similar to Texas. Probably lose at WVU and the games vs Baylor would be toss ups. Angel would be a mess and out of control, Southwell would still be shooting as flat as an ironing board, and guys like Nino, Omari, Irving, Gip wouldn't even be contributors. It would be a nightmare.

Instead Weber gets no love because we returned a bunch of guys. What people need to know is we returned a bunch of guys that couldn't beat any of us in a game of HORSE. It is pretty impressive what these coaches and players have developed in less than a year.

11
How would we score the ball without the motion offense we run? How would we get open looks, get to the lane. Frank sure as hell never worked on the skill and form of shooting and scoring a basketball with any of the guys. No developmental with offensive skills.

Would Shane Southwell and the entire team be shooting in the 40's from 3pt? How would we score? This was always the problem with Frank's teams. Fortunately Frank had a couple guys that will have banners in the rafters who could create and score to bail out his horseshit offense. There are none of those guys on this team, yet this is the best K-State team we have had since the reincarnation of KSU bball.

Defensively under Frank we fouled and played hard, but stupid. Simply put, fouls negate hustle and the ability to stop your opponent. We never forced teams to make their lesser players score the ball. We do now (with the exception of McLemore's game). No we score and are able to conistently stop teams under Frank this year.

I firmly believe we get swept by KU, ISU, OU, OSU, and split with Baylor, WVU and probably Tejas. 500 at best.

You're an idiot.  We would score/win like we did last year but with more experience (also no numbers going in the rafters from that team).  Also, against a conference with more dogshit teams.

Explain to me how the Big XII is dogshit if KU, ISU, OU, OSU are better versions than the previous season? What was our record vs. those teams last year? 1-7? This year, 4-3 about to be 5-3. Hate on Weber all you want, but Frank was a rough ridin' hack. Gonzaga would have beat us by 40 with Hack Martin coaching.

Thing is, Weber didn't recruit that bad at all at Illinois, and his recruiting at K-State is starting to ratchet up as well.

Biggest thing for me is:  1.  Intensity as his guys take over.  2.  Utilization of big men and flexibility within the offense to attack the basket, look inside and board when the jumpers aren't falling.

I was pretty pleased with the look inside first emphasis against TT the other night.

Spot on. I truly believe this would be an up and down .500 team with frustration and head-scratching moments with Frank around.

Also I believe Weber's leadership and this coaching staffs leadership is great. When your leader(HCFM) is up and down and a ravening lunatic on the sidelines your players will be inconsistent, over-emotional (good and bad) and be up and down as well. This team is much more mature and poised this year than last. Some has to do with players growing up, but I believe Weber's leadership has been crucial.

These guys are bought in to "finding a way to contribute and help the team win." Rather than worrying about getting theirs or feeling sorry for themselves.

Also enjoyable to see guys encourage others through adverse situations during the game. Refreshing to say the least. Frank's message had taken it's course with this program.

In the words of Lou, "Startin' to come together Pepper." Nice to see a band of bro's out there.  :ksu:

Not enough time. I teach, coach and officiate/umpire. Usually just stop by the board daily and checkout what is going on for football and basketball.  :bill: #EMAW4LIFE

Anyone know anything about the Trevon Evans kid from Eisenhower High in Goddard?  He seems like a stud. Are we recruiting him? Should we be?

Yes, coached against him for a few years. Athletic undersized guard with a lot of bounce. Good offensive skill set, has a nice mid range game. Needs work on his perimeter shooting. He is very talented but extremely lazy. Not a great competitor or leader and fundamental on the defensive end he is  :barf: Do not want.

Personally, I don't believe he will be able to get to the lane vs. Big XII level guards let alone finish at the rim. Has team cancer written all over him.

You want Kadeem Allen.

16
Don't know the personnel on the floor just know it was a Texas big. I will say this, Holmes 3 vs West Virginia was not contested either like the one that guy hit last night.

Anyways, if Holmes was the guy then there is more reason for that idot from ISU to be denying him and anticipating him going out on the perimeter to catch the ball.  You have to deny one pass away if he flares to the weak side you have time to closeout and either contest or steal the skip pass.

17
Yes he could. How is he going to get the ball 60 feet away from the goal?

Plus if they want to go to him why not let him catch that skip pass, he has no one to give the ball up to and he must shoot his first 3PA of the season. I think that is what you want to happen if your ISU have a Big shoot a clutch 3 to take a game to OT.

Always have to deny one pass away. Lack of discipline and awareness.

18
He cut to the elbow and immediately made the pass back to the inbounder. He only had time to foul if he knew where the cutter was going and was quick enough to make the play.

Because everyone has played basketball on some level I don't think people give enough credit to the skill of these players and the plays they make. Way too much of "he should have done this" and "he should have done that."

Exactly my point. He wasn't prepared, didn't anticipate where his man would go. I mean, really was he worried about him getting behind him. Take the 2 points if you want. He should know his guy was going to have to go to the ball to retrieve a pass over 30 feet away. Dude got caught with his pants down and it cost his team.

wait, you're saying the defender should have known where the cutter was going to go?
wow, okay

Yeah. What, was the guy gonna run to the corner for 3? Someone was there, not going weak side of court for long pass. Also, I'm pretty sure that dude has never attempted a 3 in his life and last time I checked when your team is about to get a 5 count bigs usually flash to get the ball.

So yes only an LBBIQ player wouldn't be ready for that. Not one player from Duke would of let that guy get the ball or if he did at least attempt to foul.

BTW, UT's play to get the ball back to the inbounder for their tieing shot was really nice. Teams consistently lose the inbounder because they usually don't have someone guarding him on the inbound pass.

ISU Could have still fouled the big that flashed to the elbow and passed it back to the in bounder. His back was to the basket and wasn't behind the 3 point line. It was almost like the ISU defender was worried about him going to the basketball. Bad bball IQ bad pre-play preperation.

My believe many teams are poorly coached because they do not practice late game situations daily in practice where they can go over "what if" situations like last night. Not a good coaching moment for the mayor.

And yes, I never post just watch this comedy everyday. Just thought I would chime in on this situation. Love the board!

yeah I saw Lamark at Chipotle after the spring game. Looked like he was still enjoying Manhattan with a couple cheerleaders! Told him he got changed fast after the game. He looked at me  Told him I was just kidding... Then he bolted out of there when Slam, Emanual and a couple of other players came in  All the players were talking about him when they were in line they were all      when they saw him with the cheerleaders.

If the 'cats go juco they should go with Josh Watkins...easily the best player in the juco tourny. Carter is a nice player, pretty selfish, but a scorer. Don't know if he will buy in on the defensive end of the floor.  On the other hand, Watkins is very comparable to Sherron Collins (on the court sherron collins minus UNI game), very physical, quick, explosive first step and can finish at the rim on bigs. btw he can defend, anyone is an upgrade compared to deny on defense!

Has anyone heard anything about Watkins or where he is going or has offers from?

Shouldn't have that problem anymore of underclassmen that should play over upperclassmen....more addition by subtraction for next year. The Clemente of the postseason (NCAA's and Big XII tourny) will be missed, but our overall talent level and depth will be unreal for next season. Losing Energy and Colon will not hurt, but help us immensely! Just hope that Southwell is the next Cartier Martin, we could use a big guard that can shoot and score the basketball.
