EMAWs, I've been granted the opportunity to convey a final message from Steve Douglas.

He says aloha, which means goodbye.

:horrorsurprise: Having loosely scanned the last two pages (since my last visit), finna guess that this board remains mostly Emaw with a slightly larger fraction of My Country Right Or Wrong members, at least since the last time I hung out here.

But hey, Goebbels is ascendant these days. It's hard to argue with people who shout you down. Kansas certainly isn't immune to tribalism.

Do you Emaws want any updates from the upcoming Hall thing? The postgame stuff is all Zoom, but the rest of the coverage is live.

6
 :dubious:

Mr. Rain's we/they viewpoint is not uncommon in the sports world, of course. But I think most of you Emaws understand that I'm not here for an out-group turf war.

But just FYI Rain, Brad did win* the Big 10 last year, and its tournament.

7
Oh, and because I was sitting in a Brad Underwood press conference yesterday, I can tell you that he actually mentioned the fan experience of watching entertaining basketball.

Brooth still thinks of the game as something that must be endured.

8
Visiting this board is like a Tardis to the past.

I see from this thread that you guys are experiencing the 2007 season, except you don't have any of Billy Gillispie's recruits remaining.

Your team will score exactly 58 points per game more often than it doesn't.

9
Woah, I thought this board had died?

10
Many think Brad might have peaked this season at Illinois
Huh. I haven't heard this anywhere. I don't think it's true.

My reasoning is the complete opposite. I think Brad might leave for the same reasons O and Chin left.

I think it's going to be a harder job going forward, and he might like to get out while everyone is still happy to have him. You guys would throw him a huge party next April, he gets another couple of years x $4 million and can retire whenever he wants to.

11
Miller didn't make much of an impression, though.

I've been tinkering with the theory that youse guys probably ought to reach out to Brad once you've sh¡tcanned Brooth.

Losing Antigua should expedite the process.

12
I've only seen Mr. Bread here.

13
Why can't we be friends, Rain?

Why?

14
Jobu has been lost in the wilderness, never having learned that the new home for profanity-laced, Illini-oriented sh¡tposting is IlliniHQ2.com.

Don't worry, I'll take him with me on my way out.

Anyway, I popped by to update you Emaws on the Brooth recovery process. People have debated, for years, how long it takes to dig a program out of a Wéber-shaped hole. Turns out it's 14 years (by one demonstrable metric). It might also be nine years after he's sh¡tcanned.

So don't fret. Brighter days are ahead.

Look at the replies to this tweet. WTF? What a world where _FAN and I seem like extremists for just acknowledging reality.
I'm not convinced that Brooth doesn't have a paid social media manipulator.

His lady pastor was a vocal WFF on various message boards, and treated naysayers very nearly unChristianly. As far as I know, she did it for free. But having a Final Four coach in your congregation was probably good for attendance=offerings.

It wouldn't take more than one guy to create and maintain hundreds of social media accounts. You'd need an IP spoofer, but not much else.

17
Illinibri92, shut up.

Oh come now, this monosyllabic abuse doesn't merit a spot among the high-brow. You'd expect this mouth breathing on a Rough Ridin' Scout board!

goEMAW is not a place for tribal hatreds. It's a place for erudite discussion among like-minded men,  from all parts, about the putrid piece of sh¡t Bruçe Weber.

Pros: You will win two conference championships

Cons: Everything else*

* but especially having to watch

18
Now that the FIRE JOHN CURRIE MESSAGE BOARD has fulfilled its mission, I'd think you could do better than that. Not that Figger is bad.

I's just sayin' that KState is, assuming your football money hasn't disappeared, a WAAAAAAY better program than 4 of your last 5 bball hires would suggest.

Hey there again you EMAWs!

I'm watching a particular YouTube mashup of the postgame pressers (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CCL0KDMsVxI) because EVERYONE in the media room at Purdue/Illinois was talking about your game rather than the one they'd watched, moments before, with their own eyes.

The latest iteration of Oscar's I guess it's my fault pains me all the more because I'd never heard of Brad Underwood before visiting this board.  You're stuck with a passive-aggressive sociopath while the previous team he destroyed is finally seeing revival by one of YOUR GUYS.

It's totally not fair. You guys were right, as usual.

20
Hello Emaws.

Last week, Oscar's ex-school honored one of your finest. I wrote about it

http://illinireport.info/2019/11/the-steve-douglas-reunion/

21
Hoping oscar gets the stud recruiter from Vandy that played for him on the runner up team at Illinois.

  I didn't know about this connection but new Vandy was getting recruits (but still sucking) somehow.

Evidently The Reverend Roger Powell is joining the Gonzaga staff.

Dee Brown is an assistant at UIC. He could be your Chicago recruiter.

Or maybe a KSU alum should get the job. Is Shane Southwell ready to move up?

Speaking of cats you miss (or 'Cats), why not keep up with your old pal Brad. It just so happens that I see him a few times a week, and I always bring a camera.

Coincidentally, I need four people to subscribe to YouTube.com/IlliniReport

I know which four Emaws I'd prefer, but in this case, I'm not going to play favorites

I also don't understand not going zone after Dean picked up his third.
I'll admit I haven't watched much KState basketball in the last few years, so I'm curious.

Are you insinuating that BW has learned to employ a zone defense for strategic purposes?

Myers should be impeached.
