CB: Burns (SR) - Jackson (RS SR) - Moore (RS SO)
CB: McDaniel (SR) - Mack (JR) - Shelly (FR)
NB: Prewett (SO) - Starks (JR)
S: Barnett (SR) - Newlan (RS SO)
S: Green (SR) - Adams (RS FR)

I don't think it is impossible to see Newlan or Adams to be moved.
in a perfect world...

CB:jackson-evans-burns-moore-mack
NB:prewett-barnett-starks
SS:mcdaniel-newlan
FS:Green-schelly-adams(interchangeable at the 2nd string)

thats the best secondary in the big 12 right there

Isnt Jackson the guy that Marshall abused after Burns got injured?  Why would you want him starting over Burns?
burns is hurt right now?

I hope you are trolling me right now...

Kansas State Football / Re: big play waters
« on: November 23, 2013, 05:11:24 PM »
We have a fairly sizable sample size now. Has Waters ever moved the team off our own goal line? Fail miserably at that today, leading directly to two OU scores.

according to some posters, that isn't his fault and had nothing to do with why we lost

Dropped pass

ignoring the other 2 downs where waters made the mistakes...

makes it hard to see qb competition as fair and that makes me very sad and depressed for the future of the  program

I'm not sure what the reason is, but I still believe my premise from early in the season when Sams wasn't throwing it much; its all about trust from the staff. I think the trust in what Sams can do has grown, but I don't think they trust him with as much of the offense as they do Waters. Granted, they don't trust Waters to run QB lead/power much either, which is smart, but clearly the size of the offensive package for Sams isn't the same as it is for Waters, though there are similarities in what each QB runs.

Seems like Sams has a lot more confidence in his ability to throw than Snyder does.  He audibled twice today to pass plays, one of which was the over throw to thompson.  It seems like the only times Sams gets traditional passing plays from the pocket is when he audibles to them.

if anything I found a few more errors and missed calls that went ISU's way

of course you did

Yeah, I stopped reading after that.

fair enough but i'm trying to be as unbiased as possible.  I still don't understand how that one call completely discredits the game looking back at it.  It was a charge IMO even if Niang moved his right foot after johnson jumped.  Still, it didn't give KU the victory, the call on niang laying on the ground was far worse.  Still, even then it didn't give ku the win.  Johnson still had to make two free throws and even after that ISU could have made a jumper at the end of regulation AND had an equal opportunity in overtime.  The refs obviously missed a few calls on the second to last possession but they probably missed a few on the previous two possessions as well.  so where do we draw the line?

if we are going to start questioning single calls and acting as if they decide games then you can find evidence either way in any game that is close like that in college basketball.  this just happens to be an example of poor officiating from a consistency standpoint, one of hundreds this season.

Find me calls that are that bad in a game with under 10 seconds left.

Wichita St vs. SIU goaltending call.

most goal tends including that one are really hard to see correctly full speed but are obvious on slo-mo replays

agreed, although you could make a similar claim about charges, although not this particular charge.

We've seen a very small sample of #life. I have a feeling when they unleash him, you'll be impressed by his passing game.

agreed, if/when he shows some patience, (patience and decision making are the two skills Sams appears to need improve.)

So nobody thinks that what James Franklin has done at the duke of the SEC is impressive enough to give him a shot at Kstate?

Franklin already makes $3MM and has a top-20 recruiting class this year.   He's not coming to KSU.

where did you get that info?

yes, swish, tad is out of the running.  tell the kstate losers that.  he better rough ridin' be...

what about the fact that john currie is too proud to hire a guy the fan base is trying to force him into hiring???

he's not that petty swish. he can't be. he just can't be. everybody would see through it. i have faith that he'll make the right call and the right hire. no way that he'll act like a seven year old and act irrationally and out of spite. he's way to polished and loves kansas state university way to much for that. right?
I hope with all the hope I have, that you are right about JC.

in my experience supervisors dont want to be told what to do by the smarter people that work for them, in this case currie doesnt want to be told what to do by the people who donate money to kstate...

he's bigger than that though right? i mean, i have to assume that he isn't some weirdo vindictive petty son of a bitch that would eff his entire fanbase over (twice) just so the hire could be "his". i mean what kind of ego driven self serving bad person son of a bitch would hate the fans of the school that employs him that much to exact revenge in such a way? no. no way. he won't do this to us and to the school that employs him.

i get it.  i understand what you are doing.  but i disagree, currie is that kind of guy, and he doesnt give two shits about what Kstate fans want...

Yeah, you're thinking about Jank's ex.  Gottlieb is still married to his wife.  Also, I would think most ex-wives (not related to Jack Hartman) would want their ex to take a much higher paying job, what with alimony and all.

wasnt he making a joke???

is it possible that currie wont hire gottlieb simply because he doesnt want his future employers to think he can be bullied into a hire by the fans?

 :frown:

i thought about this yesterday. is it too late to make him think that it was his idea?

This is my legitimate fear.  Which is why I emailed Currie and asked him to do whats best for Kstate and not whats best for his career...  Yes i think its to late for that.

hmmm. seems like maybe we could delete all the threads and tweets and then just calmly compliment him on the fact that he is considering it. seriously though, if he doesn't do this then everybody if the free world will know why and he'll look even dumber. i mean, not hiring him is fine or whatever  but not hiring him just because all of your fans want you to is just childish and immature and i'm sure he is neither. right?

yes, but he wont say thats the reason he didnt hire him.  he'll say he had no head coaching experience etc...

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Re: #teamangel

LOL at people that think 3 star true freshman point guards just step in and dominate...

#teamangel...

25
there are frequently end of game situations in which a team with a three point lead concedes dribble penetration in favor of just standing on the three point line, thwarting any three point shot attempts.  it's a good strategy.  jesus.  it's like some of you never watch basketball.

Seems like you are asking an awful lot to have the players guard the 3 (especially tall ones)...rusty and Mir have spoken

I didn't get that chum was agreeing with your stupid assessment.  If he was you can side with him, the rest of us will side with common sense and Frank Martin saying he should have taken JO out because he knew Huggins was going to isolate Jones and JO.

You may not understand this but I'm going to try to help you.  Even if JO stood 6 inches from the three point line with his arms straight up, Jones could have just moved laterally to get his shot, you know because he's twice as quick than JO and the court is 50' wide.  Ideally Southwell or Jamar would have been guarding Jones there.  It's batshit crazy to blame JO for that.  You should just blame Gipson for not stepping out and hitting a three at the end of the second OT.  We've all seen a center hit a three, they should all be able to do it.

You act like he was expected to guard rough ridin' Chris Paul.  Kevin Jones is 6'8" 260 lbs. Clearly it would have been preferable to have SS out there but JHR could have done a much better job than he did defending that 3.   Look, I know you have to be an bad person to me towel rack, what with the things I know about you, so keep blasting away.

I'm an bad person to you because you're hopelessly stupid.  I have no idea what you said to me, if I did know I wouldn't take it to heart, I mean you're an anonymous message board poster named fuktard.

anyone that thinks frank made the right decision by having JO on that Jones guy from wvu is clearly an idiot.  southwell should have been in the game and either he or mcgruder should have been guarding Jones at the time considering a 3 pointer was required.  frank screwed that up and cost his team the game.
