The second Shulz landed in the US this thing did a 180.  We are (not-sarcastic) rough ridin' blessed.

just think if he hadn't went over seas to get high and have sex w/ prostitutes for a week. we'd probably have byu et al in conference and playing games in time for this bball season. the guy is just an animal. kirk "the animal" schulz. this weeks episode features the animal back in his natural habitat hunting for major colleges to add to his conference. but first a word from our sponsors...

Shulzy: "I am here to participate of course!"

good post ew

12 teams or so, 7 spots

I would love to see people's rankings

Gawd damn it that was brought up several pages ago and none of you ass hats even looked at it. K-State will be fighting with TCU, Baylor, ISU, Cincy, S. Florida, KU, BYU and Louisville for the last couple of spots. I don't see Baylor, ISU, TCU, Cincy or South Florida getting in. I think we will be a package deal with KU and end up in either the ACC or SEC.

Why would the ACC want to be a 16-team conference with two teams out in the middle of nowhere vs. a 14-team conference with everyone on the East Coast?

Click on the UCF vs Miami link. It looks like they might keep it on here for K-State, Florida.

Our 2004 riot over nothing will beat the crap out of any riot KSU has in 2010.

Heard it was the second biggest riot in US history ...

Beems, I think Michigan State fans would take going to Final Four twice as a 5 seed and going to the Elite Eight as a 7 seed over three epic tourney failures in seven years.

Know this - a deal would have been done MONTHS ago if Wefald was still around.

Is there anyone better at getting people paid?

I'm just glad that Dipshit finally showed up to finally whip this board into shape.

nova plays @ cuse
kentucky plays @ tenn

both next Saturday.  Those could be huge if we can take care of our own business.

Not sure I can see us jumping ahead of UK even if they lose. They only have one loss so they shouldn't drop too far if they lose to Tenn.

Just another kellis lawrence dork covering teh qhatz:

Sam Mellinger has been a sports writer at The Star since 2000, covering major league baseball and the Royals since 2006. He's won a few writing awards, which he credits more to his editors and low contest standards, but his mother remains impressed.

Besides baseball, Sam loves college basketball, the absurdity of sports, wings at The Peanut, and his friends. This will be primarily a Royals and baseball blog, but be prepared for other stuff you may or may not care about.

Sam started this blog in February of 2008 for a couple reasons. He wanted to create a place for stories and anecdotes and other stuff that don't fit in the newspaper, and hopefully have some fun along the way. Hopefully it's worth it.

Besides, if you hate it, Sam has given you an easy way to make fun of his blog. Just use its initials.

The Star was Sam's first job after graduating from Kansas in 2000. Before that, he worked at the Topeka Capital-Journal and Cincinnati Enquirer. His first job was at the Lawrence Journal-World, where he was so big-time at age 16 that he typed obituaries for no pay. Like Biggie said, Mo' money, mo' problems.

Sam grew up in Emporia and Lawrence, where he was part of the greatest sophomore basketball B-team in Lawrence High history. He now lives in downtown Kansas City.

Writing this in the third person made Sam feel a bit too much like Rickey Henderson, but it seems to be how most of these "About" explainers are done, so whatever.

unless your first column is an expose about SLTHs, then I am not interested.

I am also a sucker for a good SLTH discussion.

after watching the finishes of ISU and NU, I think McNeck and Doc need to spend more time on offense bombing 3's instead of messing around w/ set plays.  JMHO.

Exactly.

Also, I wonder what Keiton Page did to get a technical.  :dunno: He doesn't seem to fit in on this list.

What were his opinions on "One and Done?"

I know it was good for us, but I'm not really a big fan in general.  I think it should be more like NFL you can either go pro or go to college, but if you go to college you have to stay at least 3 years.  Would make the college game of higher quality and allow the true "phenoms" like kobe, KG, LeBron etc to go league right away.  This would also improve the quality of play in the NBA.

You're thinking of the MLB.

The Lu hate is always puzzling. Name another guy on the team who guards the post as physical as him. We just need him to defend, rebound and score every once in a while without committing too many errors. I think he does that.  :dunno:

And ChiCat is absolutely right about Judge. The guy gets every opportunity to play, but his productive nights are few and far between.
