Kansas State basketball coach Frank Martin is in the crowd tonight. He's not wearing the blue shirt but did have it draped across his chest.

kstate hasn't been associated with any okc recruits that i know of.  could have come up from dfw or down from wichita, i suppose.  though gates reported underwood in wichita for ellis.  i would assume he would have reported martin too, if he had been there.

KU's Bill Self, Wichita State's Gregg Marshall and assistants from Oklahoma and K-State were at Heights for pickup games tonight.

Nice get . . . but appears that most schools pulled off of him.   Any thoughts as to why??

Horrible news. Purdue's Robbie Hummel tore his knee again in practice this morning and is done for the season.  :surprised:

Angel Rodriguez, a long-time target of the Kansas State basketball team, will make a visit to campus this weekend and take in the Wildcats’ Madness in Manhattan event Friday evening.

The 5-foot-11 point guard from Miami is rated as a three-star recruit by rivals.com, and shares close ties to former players Denis Clemente and Luis Colon. He is also close with current big man Freddy Asprilla.

His AAU coach, Art Alvarez, said Rodriguez is looking forward to the festivities. And if Frank Martin deems them exciting enough to show off to a recruit, they should be pretty decent, right?

Alvarez has said that Rodriguez is leaning heavily toward K-State in the recruiting process, and could make a commitment to the Wildcats shortly after seeing Manhattan up close.

-A last minute change of plans has landed St. John's transfer Omari Lawrence at Cloud County Community College as a placement of sorts. As of now it's unclear to me if he will play for Cloud this year or even join K-State in 2011. I guess it's back to wait and see, but he's not expected to be part of this year's Wildcats.

Then another poster went on to say how Omari comes to Manhattan almost every weekend and hangs out with the team, etc. Weird.

That's strange that he hangs out with the team almost every weekend as according to his twitter he just left NY last thursday to come to Kansas.

stalk much?

LAWRENCE, Kan. - The retiring police chief in Lawrence begins work next month as director of security for the University of Kansas athletics department.
Ron Olin, who retires Sept. 1, will work under Kansas Athletic Director Lew Perkins as head of security for the university's athletic department.
The Lawrence Journal World reports that in the newly created position, Olin's duties will include evaluating a wide range of internal controls, policies and procedures and suggesting improvements.
Jim Marchiony, a Kansas associate athletics director, said Perkins had been talking to Olin about a possible position for about two years.
Olin has been Lawrence's police chief since December 1987. He'll make $115,000 a year in his new position, slightly more than his city salary of $112,863

It took KU less than a year to build one of the best basketball facilities in the country.  K-State is still waiting for a pig farmer in western Kansas t
o win the lottery.

Go take a nap. You're getting weak.

It's not like CJ Henry was on scholarship or anything.  What reason would Self have to force him out?
To add another white kid to walk on who's old man is rolling in cash. Morningstar's pappy needs to be replaced as he is damaged goods.

CJ Henry never wanted to be at KU.  He wasn't forced out of the program, he left on his own accord.
