I could never get mad at you bro.  Did Texas fans and their beat writer guy not realize how good Thompson was?  I certainly had no idea, maybe he kind of snuck up on people with his performance.

Casey Thompson was well known & talked about a lot  in Oklahoma when he was being recruited & picked Texas.  Maybe the forgot about him in the last couple years, but he was a rivals 250 recruit when he picked Texas.

There’s a TV/radio guy in OKC that went to OU in the 60s & has been covering OU since. They had a 50 year anniversary party for him at a bar, live on the radio during his afternoon show. Switzer got on the mic a few drinks in and started talking about what the coaches had told him around Thompson, Cameron Rising & some other QB recruits before they had signed anywhere. He was a known enough commodity tipsy Switzer was talking about him on the radio in the middle of the afternoon while he was still a recruit.

Al Ass-bach? I was listening to that dude as a little kid.

Ass-back is the worst.  He was always trying to start / fan the flames of rumors that Snyder was leaving.  First he was going to the Cardinals, and then to the Buccaneers.  I think he had a weekly segment of his show where he would point out something that made him mad during the past week of college football.  One week it was Snyder for calling a time out before the half of the 1998 Northern Illinois game so Gramatica could kick his 65 yard field goal.  He said it was bush league, blah blah.  He was totally butt hurt about Snyder.  I called him up about about it to defend it and he hung up on me.  Total clown show.

Nice to see some good things.

I don't have a Kenpom sub, but we have to be one of the worst 3-point defensives teams in the nation, don't we?

There are 5 top 150 guys he brought in this year. Two are hurt and there was zero offseason prep due to covid. Literally had to cancel their summer trip overseas. He didn’t land 2 McDonalds AA who could limp into a 11 seed. Love it when the anti brucers come out of hiding and were quiet for years when he was succeeding.

Yes, he has a very good class his year.  But there are other classes littered with players who did absolutely nothing.  With all the effort oscar puts into recruiting, it’s just feels like the ROI is a little lacking to me.   :dunno:

But let’s see how this class pans out.  Maybe next year it looks amazing.

Someone will have to educate me on why recruiting is a positive.  If you average everything out, seem kinda .500ish to me.  Which, is pretty much oscar.

don't even care

This is the correct answer.  Anyone that would get me excited is likely unattainable, so who cares.  We're not firing oscar this year.

Seems like the row boat thing irritates most BIG teams.  Maryland also mocked them after beating them.  IMO, Maryland's is way better.

On July 1st, if you would have told me there was going to be a season, and on November 1st we would be in first place with a 4-2 record, I would have signed up for that without hesitation.  If you would have told me the same thing after the Arky St loss, I would have jumped all over it.

Today sucked.  I'm just going to savor this week in first place.

Once again, why do people expect to see people wearing masks in bars

If bars are allowed to open, there will be unmasked people. Blame officials for letting bars to open and students to come back to campus, I think it's dumb to blame the students.

I think the lack of distancing is the bigger issue, and I do agree with you that the fault lies with the city of Manhattan and Riley County. The mayor's role in documenting what's happening is interesting. To me the fix is pretty easy, close Manhattan Ave., Moro, and 12th streets in Aggieville after 10:00PM and allow the bars to serve and outside.

Yes, the students should do the right thing but there are lots of laws created to save us from ourselves including distancing and mask laws in other places. The government has an obligation to protect the people in the community that aren't hanging out in Aggieville.

This is absolutely what should be done, although I would close the streets down earlier / altogether on Fridays and Saturdays.

What does time have to do with anything?  Amount of people?

Yes, as more people show up we need more room for them to spread out.  I was in Breckenridge, CO a few weeks ago and they shut down the main street in their downtown area so restaurants and other business could operate outside.  It seemed to work well.

Isn’t this the second or third time Nebraska has had to make a statement like this since joining the big10?

Great idea for COVID but you can't be playing football games in this country in July and August. That's more dangerous than coronavirus.

Night games?  11 AM games?  Hell, I’d wake up for a 6 AM game.

I think it’s pretty clear OU is in the no go / on the fence group.  If Texas and OU both want to play football, we’re playing football.  Plus they sent their players home, stating they could use a break since they won’t be playing on August 29th.  Sadly, this is just another kick the can down the road move.

Really, if they want to play we should start as soon as possible.  Everyone is healthy now.  Why wait until a month from now?  Baseball is played a solid month after school ends.  We should have started football a month early and created a temporary bubble without the rest of the students on campus  Could have played a third of the schedule.

Ugghhh....just rambling.  Feel numb.  This sucks.  😕

kstate seems like a delay-minded school.

Klieman said in his press conference that gen. Myers wants to play.  So, I am going to assume that is true.

Kansas State Basketball / Re: Is this the year we break The Streak?
« on: February 22, 2020, 09:45:29 PM »
Just did some looking at home records during Wooldridge and Asbury's coaching days:

Asbury
-------------------
94-95   9-5
95-96   9-4
96-97   9-6
97-98   12-2
98-99   12-2
99-00   8-7

Wooldridge
-------------------
00-01   8-7
01-02   12-5
02-03   11-5
03-04   12-4
04-05   13-5
05-06   13-4

Asbury tried really hard to ruin the streak.  I'm actually surprised Wooldridge wasn't ever close to ruining the streak sans his first year with the mess Asbury left him.  oscar is really playing with fire here.
