:peek: perhaps inspired by the transgressions and feedback from this thread, i was able to give dog a walk during lunch hour break. i hope it equaled out the earlier mishap. may even step out with him later today and let him sniff around Johnny Kaw statue.

Essentially Flyertalk / Bad days/ bad moods
« on: April 17, 2015, 08:10:59 AM »
I'm never in a bad mood. Like 1 in 365 days never. Today I woke up in a bad mood. I actually kicked my dog because he was too excited for me to let him outside to pee. Now I feel bad for doing that. But that event, kicking my dog, actually probably led me to get over my 'mood' and now I'm in a fantastic mood again.

that's all. Happy Friday from good old Lefty.

Ms. Wacky works for Under armor golf and they sponsor Spieth, Spracs. We see him at events all the time. He's my guy too!

Is Spieth as cocky as he seems on TV? Some guys just have that look you know. Seems like the type of guy that'll stick it to your girl without even batting an eye.

completely energized for The Masters. Who's gonna take charge this weekend? Will any youngsters step up and earn their 1st? Will Rory complete the grandslam? Sergio!!! He's so due. And finally Tiger......what's he got left in the tank?

What's your favorite hole?

I have to say my favorite is #16 on Sunday. I love when the players land their ball on the upper right portion of the green and spin it towards the cup on the lower left. Incredible moments are made here.

Ohio Valley Conference tournament was very fun to watch. Great basketball on display from each game I watched. Did any get a chance to see Cameron Payne and his style of play? Great name by the way and goes by 'Cam Payne'. Probably luked somehow. Cam Payne may be the best on court crap talker I've seen since the old days of Gary Payton.

arthur brown is the greatest defensive football player in our programs history

This is incorrect.

wrong idiot

I enjoyed AB very much so. So much in fact, that I've almost forgot how many times he overshot gaps and misread a blocking scheme. His freak athleticism helped him overcome a lot of his mistakes.

Siminou was better in almost every facet. Newman, Canty, Jeremetrious, McGraw, Chapman, Howard, Colston....all as good and meant as much to a D.

thanks for everyone's good wishes. it oddly felt comforting coming from screen names. thanks for advise as well.

ACL update- it's only been about 5 days, but Dog seems to be adapting to hobbling around. he has been able to adapt to climbing stairs which makes his mobility easier for going in/outside. the pain has seemed to subside a bit. even when the injury occurred he didn't whine or yelp to make it audible, but I could tell he was hurting. his temperament has seemed to be rejuvenated.

I'm going to give it a few more weeks and see how he progresses. He's still on pain meds twice a day and I've restricted his play quite a bit. I don't think I'll go the TLPO surgery route.

Going to google the turmeric and fish oil for arthritis help....

My almost 8 year old Lab/Husky mix tore his ACL on Wednesday night. Took him to the Vet on Thursday because of his obvious pain and gimp back leg. They quickly verified his torn ACL. Now I'm torn myself on how to proceed.

-Send to Abilene Vet hospital or KSU Vet center and have surgery to repair ACL $1500 minimum
-Rely on pain meds and sufficient rest and hope it 'heals' itself

I'm beginning to see a big problem with this equation because I don't think it'll heal itself and I don't think I can go through with paying for that surgery. I'm wrestling with the justification of paying for my dog's life and that rough ridin' sucks. He's a 95 lb. beast and his hips are already beginning to show signs of giving out. I fear this is his downfall.

Seems dumb to include the Ol' part? Why not just say girl? "Girl all up in my crap."

Thanks MIR for the clarification. I was thinking "Ole Girl" this entire time.

Long time poster here. Does anyone notice how our receivers tend to run directly at a defender and refuse to deviate from the exact route? I noticed this against Baylor in '12 and it was maddening. Our receivers would literally run directly into a defender because the defender was in the way. The Baylor defenders would easily impede the timing without doing anything but stand there. I think Bennett gameplanned it this way and knew our receivers wouldn't adjust.

I know it sounds like a stupid talking point, but they did the same thing against TCU. TCU defenders were mauling us and our guys (minus TLBL) couldn't get open. Just a pro-tip to keep an eye on.

Johnny Kaw is an enormous statue of course, but he also stands at the top of pretty rad perfectly sloped hill for small kids. It's amazing how many times a 4 year old will watch a ball roll down the hill and try and chase it repetitively. The hill is also good for doing burrito rolls down. So the next time you hit City park while educating your kids on a MHK historic site like Kaw, take advantage of that hill. I haven't built up the courage to take one of their hot wheels along for them to ghost surf down though.

*any small hill will do.

You have to win a crap load of must win games to even have the type of must win games being discussed. I guess in short every college football game is must win, and it doesn't suck to win enough to have games that are important like this week's.

very true. I want this for Snyder. We've been here so many times before. It's been well documented

Just curious why you scratched off the Nubs and Baylor?
1997- we played Nubs 4th game of year. Only game we lost all year. Coming off multiple years of coming close to beating them.
1999- We were 9-0 and #5 in the nation. Only thing standing between us and a Natty. They throttled us.
2000- Played OU and were #2 in nation. Holy crap #2. Lost to them again later in year.
2002- blew a few
2012- Baylor. We were #1 for gosh darned sakes. Ran into a buzzsaw, but still.
2014- TCU- ill prepared. Linebackers sitting out. Walk on safety bless his heart. We blew it.

Family blog and all. I'm a fairly inventive Dad and enjoy playing with the kids. But even I have my limitations of creativity. Here's a spot to share ideas for rainy days or afternoon killers when they're bored.

-Pissclams linked "how to build a fort" in another thread. Incredible website with detailed instructions. Don't have link handy, but I can find it if needed.
-My kids are small still 4 & 3. They enjoy the basics like looking for monsters and dragons with flashlights.
-Wadding up paper and shooting hoops into a trashcan was surprisingly entertaining for them.
-Our favorite is to walk through KSU campus on afternoons and look for Dragons in the Castles.

Elephant still just sitting over there. TCU loss was somewhat similar to other big games we've pissed down our legs before. Perhaps it's the fact Waters' shoulder is ruined. Perhaps it's that we have too many 5 hearts. Perhaps it's that Snyder demands and expects too much out of our players.

An overly complicated system is sometimes overly complicated.

Lockett was our second best receiver but agree it hurt
Lefty is the guy who believes that Chris was our fourth best receiver. It's a shame that anyone takes him seriously.

For the record I wrote that before start of Harp's Senior year. I've also eaten crow sense and admitted the hilarity in that post.
