street parking and walking is 100% fine if you have functioning legs

That's definitely not a problem, but I know that its still supposed to be pretty cold and _FANw is not a huge fan of hanging out in the cold too long.

Ideally I want to park somewhere close to where we'll eat and the arena. It looks like that area north of the arena will be the best spot for that I have no issue paying 10-15 to park.

There is a big free parking lot (Coleman Parking Lot/Rotary Plaza) at 2nd & St. Francis just north of the Arena. It's a short walk, close to Old Town, Bite me BBQ is right there.

Noy my preference either but it's the only restaurant I can think of between the lot and IBA outside of Old Town.

It doesn't work for every type of job but I do pomodoros with 42 minutes of work and 18 minute breaks.

During the 42 I focus on one task, close email, put phone on do not disturb, close door to office, no checking ge, twitter, fb, etc...

Once 42 minutes is up, i do whatever I want for 18 minutes. Repeat as many times as possible. My goal is to complete 20 cycles per week.

Zenger

So, back to the Kansas State Family Farm. We had a good run I guess.
Why so blue? Word on the townie streets was that Veatch did A LOT of the heavy lifting on the fund raising.

veatch is far from ready for a p5 ad job, that reason enough?

Same for Hamor. jfc guys

Kurt Cobain didn't commit suicide - he was murdered by Courtney Love.

Let's review for the non-butthurt, pro-KU crowd:

Allen Fieldhouse:  One of the top 15 sports venues in the world.  Underwent over $70 million in renovations in 2011.  Considered by many to be the mecca of college basketball.

Anderson Football Complex:  One of the most modern and efficient strength facilities in the Big 12.  Built six years before K-State announced plans for a new complex.

Rock Chalk Park:  One of the top five tracks in the United States.  State of the art facility that will allow KU to host regional track events as well as national and conference championships.  100% private funding.

Ward Family Scholarship Suites:  Renovated in early 2000, and was the largest pressbox/suite in the state of Kansas up until K-State's WSC expansion in 2013.

Looks like the suites at Butler CC - just not as nice.

don't grovel and whine to HR, fanning.  it's over.
I have a little leverage. You want info from me on these contacts? Give me my commissions or a longer severance. Why would I not go down swinging? :dunno:

Because how you handle this will play a significant role in your future employment prospects.  Honor the contract you excitedly signed, and be honest with yourself about why they let you go and prepare to address it in interviews.

Sage advice

Unless this is a recent development, it's not Snyder. My source (HEMIQ) guessed Texas but didn't rule out Prince . . .

When Gogol Bordello played "Start wearing purple", there was someone in the crowd with a KState flag.  One of the band members grabbed it and started waving it around on stage during the song.  My buddies and I thought it was pretty cool.

Can confirm. They played at sandstone last night with the killers.

Are Larry and Lindy ashamed that you're a date rapist, Landon?

Wow, just realized that I know this kid and his entire family. Ts & Ps to his family for this shameful display.

My company has closed up half their campuses (layoffs too), put a hiring freeze across the board, and heismaned any promotional opportunites. I'd say i'm in good hands at the moment. I feel your pain, bud.

Don't forget being put on notice by the higher learning commission.

Chetopa is also pretty bad, but it's no Galena. For some reason I thought it was in Oklahoma.

The only reason I could see anybody possibly considering Galena to be more livable than any other city in Kansas is that it is near Joplin, and a town like Chetopa is completely isolated. Still, on its own merits, Galena is the worst.

Grandview Plaza sounds like a trailer park to me. Are you sure that is a real city with its own government and everything?

Grandview Plaza is where Timothy McVeigh holed up just prior to the okc bombing.  Gotta add to its case for #2

Pffft, St. Mary's is the black squirrel capital of the world.  If it was so bad, why would so many squirrels hang out there?

you're thinking about marysville. sheesh, the guy lives in colorado for a year and he can't even tell the difference between st marys and marysville anymore. go start a colorado thread. hint... it's either canon city, la junta or trinidad.

Cheyenne Wells. Hands down

I'm still traumatized from a childhood visit to the giant groundhog and mutated deformed farm animal zoo tourist trap.

That's Oakley.

Is that like a suburb of Colby?

Pretty much. Colby has a walmart so all the towns within 30 miles are suburbs by default.

Also, Oakley > Goodland, Colby > Goodland
