Kansas State Football / The SEC has this figured out

Listen to the pundits and the SEC is clearly the best conference in America.  Yet the bottom 6 teams in the SEC have a TOTAL of 6 conference wins...almost half of the conference has an average of ONE win.  Yet they are considered the strongest because the top of the conference is so highly ranked ([partly because they're records are padded by playing the puds in the bottom of their conference).  The top 9 teams in the Big 12 have TWO loses out of conference....TWO.  Everyone clamors to add Florida State or Clemson or ND...the reality is that we would be much better off to add 4 "Schools of the Blind" to the conference and play only 8 conference games.  Much like the SEC, we'd routinely have 4-6 top ranked teams each year giving us a much better chance at landing multiple schools in the new "playoff"...which is clearly the holy grail.  Unlike basketball where you want to play the best to prepare your team for the tourney, the goal in football is simply to land 2 teams in the playoff ($$$$$$)....after that who really cares?  I love the round robin, but it's not conducive to landing multiple teams in the new playoff.  It's just too demanding week in and week out.

Bama jumps from SEVENTH to FIRST in Sagarin with the win over LSU.  KSU falls from first to second.   No idea how the computers work but it's hard to understand how a team can jump seven spots when only one team above them lost.  That's tremendous movement from one win nine games into the season.

We are seeking a "creative" mechanical engineer (someone who thinks outside the box) to assist in the design and development of a "better" football helmet. Must be highly proficient in Solidworks, surfaces and FEA. Should have a portfolio of products/designs that you have developed and are willing to share....something to "show off". This position will be contract work for 6-12 months and could/should transition to a full time position. We are an engineering/development company in Lenexa, KS with a successful track record of bringing innovative products to market.

The KSU Cats finished the season ranked 22 in Sagarins poll....ahead of Mich, Creighton, VA, UNLV, Gonzaga,    Pleasantly surprising.  Southern Miss ranked 57.

the shooting of our guards.  When you only have one player that is a threat to make a jump shot, you're going to have a hard time winning.  3-14, 1-9, 3-17...our 3 point shooting the last three games.  It's a testament to our defense that we acutally managed to win 2 of those.

MU color guy on 810 got me to thinking.  He said he thought MU would win the Big 12 and then said he thought they would go 12-6.  If 12 wins wins the conference, there's going to be some very shitty records/seeds going into the dance (and there will likely be some teams watching from home).

As of Tuesday afternoon, Virginia Tech had sold just short of 5,000 tickets for the Sugar Bowl against Michigan. The school was given an allotment of 17,000, although only donors and season-ticket holders have been able to purchase them so far

Anyone else surprised we have the highest RPI of any Big 12 team?  18th.  I know it's early but me thinks this is a good sign.  A win over WVU or Alabama could put us in good shape heading into confy.
