I am so relieved this torture is over. I turned the radio on once today, right before half, to get a score. We were up 10, and within 2 minutes, UCI had scored 9 in a row. That's what I got for turning the blasted radio on. I never went back again because, before the game started, I knew what was coming. I knew what was coming when the news, about Dean, broke before we even got a chance to celebrate the conference championship. At the time, I posted several times that we all should be happy with the conference championship while unseating KU in the process. I knew nothing else was coming this season when Dean went down. It wasn't because we couldn't win without him although it made it much more difficult. No. I knew it because I listen to what life is saying.

Our life is laid out ahead of time and there's nothing we can do to change the outcome. It's how we respond to the good and the bad that comes our way. This is what determines if we have character or not. If you have listened, you know what life has dictated for you. We can change little things. We can work like hell to become better, like The Flush, but even that work ethic was placed into him by a higher force. It's part of his brain chemistry, etc.

K-State fans: Listen to what the force has been saying to you for years. You are part of a fan base that gets to enjoy a certain amount of success, here and there, but you are not going to enjoy the big crown. You come close, like in 1998, but a strange power of force makes sure that the trophy of trophies is beyond reach. Who will forget the euphoria that swept over K-Statedom when the score was announced during that Texas A&M game?
the force lifted us up. Everything was set. K-State was leading by 17. The National Championship game was, finally, at hand...……Those were great football teams in the late 1990's and early 2000's, but it never happened.

It may change someday like it did for Boston and Chicago Cubs. It will happen when those fans, coaches, pass who are not meant to experience the pinnacle.

Our seniors finally whipped KU, but the very next day paid the price for doing so. Cartier Diarra went down with a freak hand fracture that never even happened on the court. Just as it looked as if everything was in place for an outright championship, Cartier goes down. Then right when Cartier is due to come back and the Cats are clicking, Dean breaks a foot just like clock work. Two years, same time, same result. You cannot make this stuff up. This is not mere coincidence...this is the force which hangs over Dean and K-State. Dean will get through it because he has the right character.

The NCAA sent our team, champions of the Big XII, 1,600 miles out to California so they could play an experienced California team that had never won an NCAA game. The pundits all picked K-State to lose because the pundits know the force which surrounds K-State and they knew what the NCAA was up to. The NCAA needs the Blue Bloods to advance and they need a few cinderella's to give the first week some exciting and thrilling moments. A Dean Wadeless K-State was the perfect choice. I read the vibe and that's why I predicted Barry would go down with foul trouble in the early going. Now, we're down two good players.

Yes, I'm relieved it's over and I've made a choice to not invest so much in this basketball thing. I'll support the student athletes and let the chips fall where they will.

I really am. I watched the end of our game last night at TCU. After it was over, Jay Williams (I believe that's his name) was mad. Instead of praising K-State's defense (holding a good scoring team to their lowest point total with their 2 main scorers only scoring 2 points), he complained about how poorly TCU played down the stretch! That, dear posters, is a man who hoped like hell TCU would knock Kansas State out of contention. He resented TCU. He even mocked Dixon for calling a time out with 30 seconds left. How many times have you heard a sports commentator blast another team for not playing hard enough instead of praising the winning team?

Now, go back in time with me to about two weeks ago. Kansas is struggling and they go to TCU. TCU has the game in hand and plays terribly down the last two minutes and gives the game away to Kansas. Right after the game, they're talking about who will win the Big XII. Seth mentions K-State and Williams, with that pompous smirk, scoffs at him and says KU is going to win another championship. In fact, after Kansas squeaked out one against TCU and beat Oklahoma State, at Lawrence, the whole pundit world was exclaiming that Kansas was back to win another Championship.

I continue. This afternoon, I pull up the podcast from Mike DeCourcey on 810. Of course the topic begins with K-State's victory over TCU and, quickly,
denigrates into a TCU bashing session. No, we're not talking about K-State's amazing run for the conference championship, we're going to bash TCU. Two weeks ago, Dixon and his darlings were oh so tough. A lock in the tournament. All it took was for K-State to beat TCU and they're bashing them at every turn.. Two weeks ago I was wondering what was so fabulous about TCU after KU squeaked out a win against them.

There are more things I heard over the last 24 hours that I want to relate, but I can't go on forever. There are some who say they don't care if K-State gets disrespected, but I do because this bias matters when seeding is done for the tournament. There was an interesting tidbit put out on Twitter, today, by Tyler Dreiling. He posted the NCAA seeding history for Big 12 teams with 14 plus conference wins.

1 seed 9 times
2 seed 6 times
3 seed 1 time
4 seed 1 time
5 or worse: Never Right now Lunardi has them as a five seed.

3
Did fuckface send another player to try to kill someone again?

4
Hopefully the NCAA will step in and do the right thing for once

5
I've believed it since Cartier has been starting. Mitch Holthaus was on 810 this afternoon. He said, "Look I'll tell you. This K-State team is the same caliber as the Elite 8 team. Now, no one is saying they will go to the elite 8. You need to make the tournament and you need to get some breaks.
I'm simply talking about talent from 1 through 5. I believe we have more talent one through five than the elite 8 team. They, perhaps, have a small advantage at the 1 and 2 position with Jake and Denis. Yet, Kamau, Barry and Cartier equal more depth at the guard position. Dean, however, is oh so much better than anyone the elite 8 team had. Xavier equals and is, probably, better than Dom.

It doesn't mean anything other than there is very good potential. It means fans should get excited.

For instance. Last week, I learned how deep seated the hatred of Coach Weber is among those who are still seething over Frank. Sports writer
mentions that Coach Weber, after Iowa State win, stated that many players played through sickness. Man tweets that Weber is making excuses and others jump on board to bash. In a moment where you would think that fans would praise the dedication of our players, they slam their coach.

Yesterday, there was a tweet from Coach Martin. Frank tweets he got back from Church to ask forgiveness and thank God for the great young men he gets to coach. Great tweet and then comes the real reason for the tweet. He announces that Rah Felder and Brian Bowen is now practicing with the team. A little back ground is in order. Frank has carried out some tweet discussions with fan(s) who are criticizing the poor performance of South Carolina. A short while after this flurry of tweets took place, it is announced that Frank is in New York to see if Rah Felder will come back and play at South Carolina. For those who don't know, Frank dismissed Felder from South Carolina for getting in trouble with the law. In one incident, Felder spit on a woman. In another instance, Felder punched a law officer and had to be tazed after being stopped for another incident.

Brian Bowen is the young man who caused the downfall of Rick Pittino. Pittino said he had no knowledge of Bowen being paid 100,000 smacks to sign with Louisville. Pittino was taken down when it came to light that a FBI undercover agent witnessed the whole thing come down and witnessed Pittino giving his okay. If we are to believe the wiretaps, and FBI cover agent, it is a fact that Bowen's father demanded 100,000 dollars for the services of his son. This takes away his amateur status.

Yes, we learn a great deal from Twitter. We now know just how far Coach Martin will go in order to win. I ask the readers, here, to contemplate one thing.

How horribly would oscar Weber be crucified, by local and national media, if he made a trip to North Carolina and begged Bullnuts to come back and play for him after realizing just how badly he needs a post player to complete the puzzle? What would you think, fellow posters, if your coach did such a thing? And, here, we're not talking about Maurice slugging a law officer or spitting upon a woman.

Is there a coach in this land who would touch Brian Bowen after knowing that his father was caught red handed selling his son to the highest bidder?
In an article posted about this situation, the South Carolina AD states: "Bowen hasn't been charged with anything. We will do all we can, he assures the hungry South Carolina fans, to get him cleared with the NCAA."

I propose to you that this is how some basketball coaches find their way to tournament success. They make a sham of this student athlete thing and continually compromise themselves by skirting and breaking the rules. It's even more in your face when you consider that Frank's long time assistant is under indictment.

I belabor this point in order to point out the crooked, compromised state of College Athletes and sports across the board where winning is cheered so much that it doesn't matter how you get there. I mention this because it should be pointed out that a Coach was crucified, and continues to be crucified, because he happened to follow a coach who is willing to compromise every principle in order to win.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Dear Force
« on: November 24, 2017, 08:02:13 AM »
Dear Force,
Congratulations. I throw in the towel. Will you let up, if we bring in a cheater next year? I’ve always heard that nice guys finish last. I’m a believer.
At Lawrence last year, you made sure Dean’s shot rimmed out. It would have meant a national ranking and almost automatic bid. But you weren’t through. You wanted to bury our ball players so you plugged up a refs whistle so Svi could run for a score. At Tech, you slapped Barry across the head as he was going for the win but, once again, it wasn’t enough. You opened up the refs whistle so your instrument could levy a technical, which put the game out of reach. Then you made Barry hit the last second half cout heave.
Now, you've started again. Our two guards put on a show that will hardly be matched rest of the season. Denis and Jake carried us to an elite 8 on performances that were no more spectacular. But, for some reason, they never had to overcome a 22 point free throw discrepancy. Yes 22 point gimmies. There isn’t a team in the country that could overcome such a discrepancy and our guys still only lost by two. Man, even you have to be blushing on this one.
Then, after you demanded the refs spot ASU a 22 point margin, you demanded they swallow the whistle when their west coast star fell along the sideline and slid. After shafting another team with such a discrepancy, any ref would have called a travel, but not when it comes to K-State.
Lastly , Dear Force, Kamau was draining everything, but not the last shot that would have won the game. Now, I’ll address my fellow fans.
We scored 90 points. They scored 22 more free throws than our guys, but still only won by two. We fouled more, but are you telling me that there wasn’t five measley free throws that should have gone the other way?
Barry and Kam did what they had to do and that was shoot us past this discrepancy. It was a performance that probably won’t be matched this season by a guard duo.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Currie
« on: March 29, 2017, 12:17:22 AM »
Hilltop, you have brought up a very important matter. I'm on Twitter so I can follow K-State Athletics through coaching tweets, sports writers, etc.
I am disgusted to no end by the continual tweets of fans, and sports media, who are ridiculing John Currie and Coach Weber over Frank Martin. I, too, would like to hear the other side of the story. Frank's latest round of success, fueled by good fortune as much as anything, has brought a relentless attack upon Currie and Weber because the Martin cult is convinced Currie drove Frank out of Manhattan. I wish we could hear Currie's side of the story, but that will never happen.

Here's what I know. When it comes to John Currie vs. Frank Martin, I side with John Currie until someone can provide me with proof of John Currie having received discipline, or censure, for unprofessional conduct or rule breaking. I know that Frank Martin was disciplined by Florida's High School Athletic Association for breaking rules. I know that the DC pipeline was corrupt. We know that Beasley's mother was being paid. We know how things have turned out for Malone and Dalonte Hill. We know that there was an under the table deal struck with Ron Prince, which ended up costing Kansas State a bunch of money. All of this corrupt activity was in place before John Currie stepped foot on campus. There is something more that we all know. When Jamar Samuels (he who was part of the DC corrupt connection) was found picking up wired money, an infraction confirmed by the NCAA, Coach Martin was incensed at John Currie for suspending Jamar. If that wasn't bad enough, Martin made light of the NCAA rule on providing athletes with money. Let me continue to build my case. Just six months after Frank Martin shed tears on TV about John Currie extending his contract with a hefty raise, the man was complaining because Miami would not contact him about their coaching position. I continue. Women and children were appalled by the vulgarity being screamed loud enough on the sideline for a third of the coliseum to hear. Many complained to the AD. I have stated nothing but verifiable facts.

John Currie was hired to restore donor trust and return Kansas State Athletics to a sound financial footing. The man accomplished this feat in remarkable time. Many, of the same sports media who now ridicule John Currie, were ridiculing Kansas State's Athletic program as the Ron Prince fiasco came to light. These people make me sick to my stomach because all they care about is WINNING. If Ron Prince would have taken Kansas State to a National Championship game, very few would have cared if Prince had been promised four times as much under the table.

When I read a charge that John Currie was having players followed, I ask: Why in the hell would he not do such a thing if he suspected corruption? The man was hired to restore Kansas State Athletics to honor. Go back and read the facts I presented about Frank Martin's history, the DC Pipeline, and the Jamar Samuels situation. Then, look me straight in the eye, and ask: "Learnin, who do you think is the villain in this story? Do you think John or Frank is the villain?"

This country has knelt down to worship the beast of fame, power and money. Fake news is inhaled by the multitude when it supports our guy or gal; when it tells us what we want to hear; when our guy or gal WINS. There is little room at the inn for the John Curries of the world.....we need the elite 8...and we'll get down and dirty if that's what it takes.

Again, you write words of wisdom and I thank you. Your lines, here, are a masterpiece when it comes to this argument. They need to be repeated:

"and what I am reasonably sure of is there is more to Currie's side of the debate than has gotten out or will likely ever get out. Once they are no longer employed, the person/camp on the employee side has much more freedom to spread their version of what happened than the employer side so Martin and his supporters have been talking much more freely."

This is precisely how things are playing out. The employer (Currie) must remain silent especially since he is a man of professional integrity. He will take the continual beating and remain silent while the Martin cult will spread their version of the truth throughout the media.

I had a good friend back in Indiana who would get worked up over sporting games. He was an avid St. Louis fan. One day a St. Louis player sustained an injury and was out for the whole season. My friend was moping around all depressed for several days. He was visiting his parents for Sunday dinner and was moping around when his dad grabbed him by the shirt collar: "That son of a bleep could care less whether you live or die tomorrow and you're all depressed because of his injury." I'll never forget that Monday when my friend came to work and told me of those wise words uttered by his father. We laughed until we fell on the floor because it was the awful truth.

I have the same words of wisdom for a large number of Kansas State fans who are bawling all over themselves because ole Frank Martin was chased out of Manhattan by that dirty John Currie. FRANK MARTIN COULD CARE LESS IF MANHATTAN, KANSAS WAS BLOWN OFF THE FACE OF THE MAP TOMORROW. Frank Martin doesn't give a rat's ass about Kansas State or any of you Kansas State fans. He doesn't care any more about your school than Brad Underwood cared about Oklahoma State. Some of these people actually believe Frank Martin would still be in Manhattan, Kansas if John Currie had not chased him out of Manhattan. They claim that Frank, and his wife, really liked it in Manhattan. I'm sure some of them can tell us how Frank, and his wife, even told them as much. I've got news for you. Brad Underwood stated, a few days before he hopped a plane for Illinois, that Oklahoma State was one of the best basketball schools in the nation....and he was going to do everything he could do to make sure that it returned to Glory! He then stated he was a man of his word!

When Frank Martin told some of you that he really wanted to stay in Manhattan, he played you for a con like many coaches do. It's like Bob Huggins saying: "There is only one job that would have made me leave Kansas State......" It makes you feel gushy all over, but you know it's nothing more than words. There's only one thing you can believe and that is ACTIONS. Frank Martin had no plans to stay in the pastures of Kansas. His family was in Florida. His son lived in Florida. The only reason he stayed here as long as he did was because no one wanted him. When Currie gave Frank a contract extension which included him making over one million per year, Frank cried on TV saying how lucky of a man he was.....gushing about the opportunity K-State had afforded he and his family. Within six months, the man was, publicly, campaigning for the Miami job. He actually stated that he would listen to any program that would contact him because he had to think about his family. Right then and there, K-State fans should have known Frank was gone if, and when, the job of his dreams came calling. If that wasn't enough, Frank complained because Miami did not contact him.
He actually implied that Miami didn't contact him because they thought he was making 1.7 million when he was only making 1.1 million. At that point in time, I determined I would not have any more gushy feelings about Frank and his wife's waxing sentimental about Manhattan.

Just the other day, Frank threw sand in K-State faces when he made a statement about how South Carolina fans were the best of all the places he had been....or something to that effect. K-State fans.....quit crying over Frank Martin. He doesn't have one ounce of a care about you or your school.

I have always stated this. Frank gave us some fun memories. When he left, I wished him well and hoped that he would do well for himself, and his family. I wished this because it would mean that Frank had gained control of his temper. I stated if he did not, he would end up being a failure. When he went to South Carolina, Frank was suspended once and warned another time if memory serves me correctly. He was walking on thin ice. It is evident that Frank took the proper steps through counseling, or medicine, and has gained control. He's not the same raving lunatic that he was when at Manhattan. I'm happy for him and his family. But this is one fan who is not going to spend the next week crying over a coach who never really wanted to be in Manhattan any more than Brad Underwood wanted to be in Stillwater.

12
With nobody graduating to speak of next year, imagine what our squad will look like in 2018-19?  Wade, Brown, Stokes will be juniors next year, seniors in 17-18.

Love, Patrick, Maurice, Sneed a year behind and  then I assume Carter Diarra and James Love will be redshirt freshmen next year.

With incoming freshmen Nigel Shadd, Levi Stockard and Mike McGuirl for next year - plus likely another big and another guard - we will have a bunch of options as far as depth and playing style next year and the year after.

With a little luck, this board may be begging Weber to stay in Manhattan after the next couple of years.

13
Over the years, I've read all of the objections, and requirements , on other boards, that the Frank crowd have used to condemn oscar Weber. As time goes by, the Frank crowd continues to raise the bar as oscar continues to meet their requirements and silence objections.

1. He can't win with his own players. Well, they can't use that one anymore.

2. The program is in decline and is going down every year. This was an easy one to use because it's hard not to decline from a 27 win season and a conference championship. Nevertheless, the Frank crowd has to throw this one out now because the program is trending way up now after getting rid of a few troublemakers.

3. He hasn't won a tournament game. Well, that one is gone now.

4. He can't motivate his players. Well, that one's gone, too.

5. He has a squeaky voice. Well, I'll give them this one.

My point? The Frank crowd has now run out of excuses..........wait a minute.......I just read another one.....a Frank lover has just raised the bar. This poster will not accept Weber until he meets the winning percentage Frank delivered and delivers 4 tournaments in five years like Frank!
Never mind that Frank inherited 3 NBA players and the all time leading scorer from Huggs pipeline and then got out of Dodge before he had to play without them. No, by golly! Every coach will now have to deliver 4 tournaments every 5 years or face the wrath.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Coaching
« on: March 11, 2017, 09:38:01 AM »
I read all these posts tonight about the great Huggins and how he adjusted the defense and we had no answers. It is true that his defensive adjustment did make a difference. It is, also, true that Bob Huggins doesn't guard free throws. If we hit free throws, last night, like we did on Thursday evening, we win. If Huggins was so much better than Weber, why was he down for all of the game? Even with the 1-3-1, we missed four or five open three's. Sneed had one three, which was half way down and came back out. I think Wes had one that rimmed in and out. Brown had one that just missed. Any one of these threes go in, and we're talking about how Weber's game plan was masterful. We penetrated the zone, several times, for short range jumpers that failed to go down. On another two occasions, we passed up an open three with 5-6 seconds on the shot clock and ended up having to slop up a prayer.

The only thing we lack is an experienced playmaker....it's the whole difference in this team not having 25 plus wins this year. It was extremely clear, on our last possession, when such a player would have gone right down the court and attack the basket when 21 seconds remained in the game and we were down one. You get to put the ball up on the glass and possibly draw a foul if they dare guard you. Or, your bigs get a chance to follow and get a put back. If you fail, you still have 10 seconds to foul with another chance to tie or win. You give yourself two chances. We got the ball up slowly, after the West Virginia free throw, and then Weber has to call time out because no one is going to attack. An experienced playmaker would have known that by instinct.

And what about the great Frank Martin? You know. The guy who inherited Huggins DC pipeline players and had some successful years in Manhattan. Well, this great coach has the SEC player of the year and one of the better playmaker's in the nation. Because of this, his team started out well. Now , it is falling apart. They've lose something like five out of seven. His team, this year, is getting worse as the year goes by just many did when he was here.

On Coach oscar Weber…

“I did not like anything about today except for being able to shake hands with one of the best coaches in the country after the game. He has won eight games in this league and had his team in the top-25 this year. They lost a couple of heartbreakers. The Kansas game, the guy takes about four steps and they beat K-State there. I think you got a really good coach here. He does it the right way and is one of the most respected coaches in the country.”

Immediately, it was met with some typical comments from those who will not acknowledge that Weber is a good coach. I paraphrase a few.

"Of course they like him. They know they can recruit over him and beat him."

And one from a West Virginia poster who loves to patronize K-State fans:

"We hope you keep Weber." What a patronizing comment. If that poster really thought that person would keep their mouth shut and not join the chorus of people thinking Weber should be fired. Or am I to believe the West Virginia poster really wants K-State fans to have a much better team?

Let me get to the point. I'll be fine if K-State decides to go with another coach if that coach plays by the rules. Frankly, I can't hardly stomach the negative, toxic fan base that will always be ready to jump in and pile on Weber all because he came in after Frank Dalonte Martin, so if it happens, fair enough. But, I won't stand by and allow the haters to spill forth their nonsense without a rebuttal.

Coach Beard is a protégé of Bob Knight who was a coach that did not resort to cheating. In later years, Knight despised what the game had become often times taking shots at Calipari and the cesspool of basketball recruiting. Beard knows this and so do many other very successful College basketball coaches. The truth is that these coaches know that Weber does not cheat and competes very well, playing with 3 star players, against other coaches who have 5 stars. When Tom Izzo talked about Weber being a great coach, this is what he meant. When Roy Williams said that oscar Weber can coach the hell out of basketball, he was saying that Weber coached a bunch of 3 stars and almost whipped my 5 stars.

Read between the lines of what Coach Beard said and realize it's importance. Weber took a team of 3 stars to Lawrence and had a team, known for breaking all the rules in the book, on the ropes.....and the refs let them off the hook with a clear traveling.

16
Kevin Kietzman and Tim Fitzgerald have spoken. Kansas State does not deserve to be in the NCAA tornament. No, I haven't misspelled the word, "tournament". This is how the nation pronounces the word ever since Frank Martin got on CBS the year he left Manhattan and said, "tornament" instead of tournament. Tom tour his trousers at the tornament and got an attourney. This is how pliable the American mind is. A guy gets on TV and pronounces tournament as "tornament" and the whole country changes the pronunciation. Thankfully, they're not saying "torney" as of yet. But I digress.

The pundits have spoken. This is how toxic the K-State fan base has become. Our players don't deserve to step into that hallowed ground of the NCAA tornament even if they end up 19-12. You see, fellow posters, only the best deserve to be in that hallowed membership. That's right, DJamer and Wes. It's true you guys beat Baylor at their place. That's the team that worked over some pretty good teams across the nation before pounding it out in the only true round robin in the nation. Yes....yes, it is true that you beat the venerable Bob Huggins and West Virginia, but that was a long time ago. Okay, if you insist. You, also, beat Oklahoma State on their court and, yes, it's true that Oklahoma State laid the hammer on Greg Marshall's Shockers up in their neck of the woods.....what's that you say? Yes, I know that everyone thinks Wichita State is a team to be reckoned with after beating up on Evansville and Dry Gulch. Aw come off it you two! Yes, you came one point from beating the best the Big Ten has to offer up in their neck of the woods. Hey, I'm going to stop you right there! I know what you're going to bring up....wait a minute....did Kietzman actually say that? He said KU is probably going to win the National Championship? Well, you may have a point. If you guys are so terrible, how did you manage to have the National Champs beaten on their home court? Well, yes, you're right, Kietzman did yell and scream about KU getting away with that travel....but you guys still lost!

Fellow posters, we are told that the bubble is soft this year. A K-Stater mentioned that to Jerry Palm, I believe it was, today and he said: "The bubble's always soft." Last year, I believe the Big XII got 7 teams in and I bet ole Kietz and Fitz weren't crying about the 6th and 7th team getting a bid. One could make a valid argument that the league is tougher this year from top to bottom.

17
From the minute he stepped on campus, oscar Weber was met with derision and placards. He was the man chosen by the man who ran the man out of Man Hattan. He didn't stand a chance. The fans were drunk on the wine delivered by a pipeline from D.C. "He can't win with his own players." He, momentarily, silenced the jeers when a Championship was finally won after decades. Then came the LaSalle loss. "He didn't have his team prepared to play." Then, the force delivered another huge blow. Huggins, the one who got it all turned around, was coming back to the Big XII and Manhattan to play oscar every year. Every year, he would have to be reminded of the shoes he couldn't fill.

Then came Angel's departure. "He ran Angel off." All through the long summer, we were assured that the program was finished. Weber couldn't keep Angel, Rodney was gone.....well Frank's players were dwindling in numbers. But along came Marcus Foster who drew national attention and the Cats kept rolling and, once again, were silenced by another NCAA bid. By a brutal stroke of the force, oscar drew Kentucky......a team that would go on to play for the National Championship. oscar, and the boys, kept it close throughout. DJamer went down in the process. The jeers began once again. "He hasn't won an NCAA game in years....."

Then came the year that the star thought he had arrived. Marcus decided to take it easy because he thought all he had to do was show up for the game. "Weber's too soft." "Weber's too hard." As the losses mounted, the "I told you soer's" came out of the woodwork. "I told you he couldn't win with his own players." The press, sensing the venom of a large portion of the fan base, began to jump on Weber with growing fervor. The venom took it's effect on the players who were working their butts off while Marcus played. Fans can't understand that when you ridicule the coach, the players take it personally because, after all, they, too, are not getting the job done. If you think this is an exaggeration, please consider this tweet sent out by Big Gip this morning. With a clip of the fan booing Weber down in Texas, Gip remarked:

"See this the type of shoet I'm talkin about.....Does any other school have a Troll like this? Let me know......"

To make a long story short. It gets worse by the day. The force threw another blow to Weber. This time Bulldog Underwood came back to the Big XII. Huggins, and now Underwood.....playing in the same conference as the man who was chosen by the man who drove the man out of Man Hattan.
The force can really pile it on believe you me. As the media keeps showing that picture of the 3 real men walking down the floor at Bramlage, 2 of those 3 have returned to the conference as if to rub it in oscar's face. You can't make this stuff up and it played right into the hands of the people who despise the man who was chosen by the man to replace the man that was driven out of Man Hattan.

I can assure you that all of this venom poisons the body and places added pressure on the coaches and the players who play for them. So, it's time.

Coach Weber. You should resign. It's too toxic here now. You should go to a lesser, losing program where the people would present a positive environment. And then I have a suggestion for John Currie. Create a list of those coaches who would be willing to coach at K-State next year.
Present that list to K-Staters and let them vote for the next coach. That way they can't blame anyone but themselves if it fails and can take credit if it succeeds.

It seems that support is waning for Coach Weber. Even among his more ardent supporters, including yours truly, doubt has crept in and most are agreed that a change is needed if we miss the tournament. Having said this, there is one thing, which sticks in my craw. Among his long time critics, those who always believed he would fail, there are none who will allow any talk about Weber's bad luck. This is not a plea to keep him around if we miss the tournament. This is only to give the man his due if he is released.

Even after last nights game, there was no mention of the fact that our main player was unable to play. How many of us thought, be honest now, that we had a good chance when DJamer did not walk out for the opening tip? Of course, we always have hope as fans. What were our chances, however, with one senior, three sophomores and a freshman, that we were going to get the best of five veteran seniors? If you say 60-40, what would you have said, before the game, if someone told you that Isaiah would not play? I can't help to think that Isaiah would have gotten some of those boards that Cyclone freshman got, which hurt us so badly.

I have mentioned this before, but it needs to be repeated. We all knew that our team faced three top ten opponents (two on the road) before they would be able to face a six game stretch of easier games. We all would have been okay if we won one out of those three knowing that we might get five out of the last six. We did get one out of three. Does any one have just the least bit of compassion for our players, and coaches, knowing that when our guys were, finally, about to come to a six game stretch against easier opponents, one of our main players injures himself? I am of the opinion that we match up well against West Virginia and I believe we would've beaten West Virginia if DJamer, and Dean, had been fully healthy. As it was, we played with them for well over a half.

I'm going to throw this out because I believe it. I believe some people have more than their share of bad luck. I don't mean to suggest that our coach has bad luck in that he has had a very good and successful life. I do believe, however, that he has more than his share of bad luck when it comes to the basketball floor. This is not to say all his failures are due to bad luck. It is only to say that he has had his share since being in Manhattan.
I have a theory. I believe this bad luck takes its toll on the players. A missed travel at KU at the end of the game. A missed foul on a game winning lay up at the end of the game. An injury to a key player at a most inopportune time. Before you know it, doubt begins to creep into the players mind. This is especially true when you don't have a go to guy, a Frank Mason, who is going to pull you up by your bootstraps.

In conclusion. Luck, or no luck, there has to be a coaching change if mediocrity is the norm. When, and if, a change comes about, this is one fan who will always say that the basketball gods had a little say in the outcome.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / The old man is about done

I can't take much more. I'm expending way too much energy and time on a game that is too often determined by luck and officiating.

1. I've been holding off saying this for a while because I thought oscar might get it turned around. But, I believe the handwriting is on the wall. The force is not on oscar Weber's side. He's a good man. He's a good coach. But, too often in this world, good fortune shines on those who cheat and will sale their soul to win. How long has it been since we caught one break in these games that go right down to the wire? We lost three overtime games last year and two others on last second shots. Well, it's started again this year. If you like, chalk it up to bad execution; perhaps, you will tell me
that we don't have the character to pull out the close ones. I'll listen but, sooner or later fellow posters, the ball has to bounce right once in a while.
It began with Angel dribbling to the corner while the clock ticked off and it became full FORCE when Heslip, who had not made a shot all night, flinged a slop shot up at the buzzer after the ball bounced luckily to Baylor three times. Stokes takes the ball out. We're up by 3 with a chance to seal the deal. There are seven seconds on the shot clock. If we get the ball in bounds, the worst thing that can happen is we have a 3 point lead with 20 seconds left. Suddenly, as if an invisible force intervened, he rolls the ball off the back of DJamer who turned the very instant Stokes let go of the ball. There was no pressure defense that turned the tables....no, just a fluke, if you will. You and I both knew what was about to take place at that moment.
We would be up one point and there would be an immediate foul. You all knew Wes would brick the free throw. This was not bad coaching. This was the force pure and simple because it has happened too many times in a row. The force has deemed that oscar Weber will fail. I hope I'm proven wrong. I'm saying this because I hope someone, at season's end, will rub this all in my face. I'm saying it in the hope that I can turn the force. It may want to make a fool out of me more than it wants to nail oscar.

2. The second reason I'm about done is what the game has devolved into since they set out to clean it up. For every action, there is a reaction.
They decided to clean the game up so that you couldn't wrestle your way to a victory. It was ugly...scoring went down. No one cheered louder than old learnin. So what happened? The coaches reacted. Well, by golly, if we can't wrestle you into submission, we'll drive you into submission. So you want to neutralize our ability to bump the offensive player and gain an advantage when we're down? Well, I'll clear it out for my prima dona and tell him to drive to the bucket and initiate contact on his defender. That's right. One on one. Drive to the bucket and when your man maintains himself between you and the bucket, put a shoulder into him. You've got a big name and you play for a special program. What is more, you're down. There's not a ref in the country that's going to swallow his whistle in this situation. When your opponent keeps scoring, and won't buckle, keep driving...it'll work every time as long as we're behind. Coach Weber, please. If you're reading this, or someone reports this post to you, please change up the defense when we're leading a team in the last couple of minutes. Our opponent is going to drive on us every time unless they're a great three ball shooting team. Pack three in the paint and put a man on their two best guards. Make them put up a jump shot. Do anything, but let the refs send them to the free throw line every time. Huggy's been doing it to us the last two years. Texas did it to us last year.

1st team D only allows 3 points and also scores a defensive TD.  Offense looks like poop.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Let's cut to the chase

We read a lot of posts that try to equate the player mutiny, which happened under Coach Martin, to the transfers taking place this year.  We are asked, "what's the difference?"  I thought the difference was sufficiently explained but the posts continue.  I thought I'd try another approach since some seem to believe that Nigel, Jevon and, possibly, Malek are leaving because of Coach Weber.

Let's say that Nigel, Jevon and Malek really want to stay at K-State but they simply can't stand Weber.  Why didn't they band together and make a stand like their predecessors did with Martin?   With all the fans, who have never liked the Weber hire; and now with all these fans being lathered up into a frenzy by Marcus and Tre's dismissal;  wouldn't it have behooved them to take a stand?  They would have had a good amount of sympathy from the malcontents.
We have several explanations, here.

1.  One, or more, really didn't want to be in Manhattan, with, or without, Weber.

2.  One, or more, wanted to be here, even with Weber, but thought the incoming commits were good enough to
     get substantial minutes.

3.  They didn't think their on court performance warranted a challenge against the Athletic Department.  In other
words, their absence would not cause next year to be worse than this year.

For all, who care to consider this with reason instead of emotion, please understand.  The player mutiny, under Frank's tenure, took place because numerous, solidly, performing players took a stand.  Some want to claim it was only two players.  You know better than this.  They took the stand because their departure would have crippled the program for the next few years.  One does not undertake such a risky challenge unless one has numbers and strength...bargaining power if you will.

Please read and understand.

After watching Baylor, ISU and now Texas getting beat, I'm convinced.  K-State has the second best coach in the conference and, if Weber can get the right mix, we'll be the second best in conference.  Texas, with all their height, comes down with the lead and throws up one 3 after another 3 as soon as they cross the 10 second line.  It's pathetic.  Weber tries to play disciplined offense.  He just needs to get the right players

Thanks learnin, for bringing this to our attention.  There are many on this forum who would take this guy as our coach, or one like him, in a heartbeat.
For me, I'll take oscar Weber any day over this scumbag.
