Cost of move is going to be about $600... total time involved is probably going to be about 5 hours tops. No stairs involved... No pianos or funky crap... Standard 2 BR Apt into a house... What's the norm? I was thinking $50 each guy. ( there are 2 guys and 1 truck) Thoughts?

My odometer is creeping towards 40... and lately I've noticed I have to really bear down on the screen to focus on what I'm reading and typing. Headaches are becoming fairly common after a day at the desk and I am noticeably fatigued after a day of BBSing and working. Reading at night on my iPad puts me to sleep immediately and I've had to increase the font size to read comfortably. The last straw was noticing two birds in the sky flying in perfect formation next to each other until I squinted and looked again to realize it was one bird... Anyway... tomorrow I go get my vision checked for the first time since grade school to the best of my recollection. I assume I'm going to need some sort of corrective lenses... glasses... me... the kid... getting old.
As someone with what I thought was perfect vision throughout life.. never having to deal with glasses... this is a big step. Now I need to figure out what I am going to wear on my face that doesn't make me look even goofier and less attractive than I already am. So guys... have you gone through this? Do you wear glasses? what's in style? Hellp...

It's that time of year... the annual embarrassment of letting your buddy/co-worker/business associate, that they have dirt or something on their face and pointing at them only to get "The look". I love it... every year. "Hey, you need to wash up there pal.". LOLs.
Does anyone have any good stories of foot in mouth on Ash Wednesday or a story about how strange they thought the whole thing was when they realized they hadn't met an honest to God Catholic until they moved to KC because they grew up in Shitkick KS and everyone was Methodist or Lutheran?

Gentlemen... I am a sushi fiend. I can't get enough. I want to make it at home... I know it wont' be cheap but I know I wont have to drop $100 a meal either. Are there any in home sushi chefs here that can offer any assistance, guidance, and tips? I've been assembling my tools and goodies today but am stuck on where to get my salmon and tuna. I'm looking online and possibly at Asian markets here in OP. Anyone?

I've been looking at reflector telescopes in the $450 range... I will probably by extra lenses and some sort of mount for a phone/camera to take pics. I've seen a couple in that range that have computerized controls and will keep objects in frame. Anyone have any experience in such matters? I am really excited to nerd out at Alex's pond at night while you guys are harvesting your drugs and fornicating in the pond.

I have a female friend/former coworker who has fallen in with a new guy and his crowd of degenerate losers. They are into all kinds of drugs and she is smoking and snorting all kinds of crap. She's into synthetic marijuana now too because she's trying to get a job and pass a drug test... Oh yeah, she quit her job a few weeks after meeting this guy because she was all doped up and couldn't make it to work anymore. He hasn't lost his job because he doesn't have one. He sells drugs for a living. He's a real scumbag...
Anyway... we've been keeping in touch with her and trying to intervene a bit and stayed in communication but it's getting to the point (synthetic marijuana is bad) that we think we need to really get involved for her safety...
In your experiences... is it even worth trying or should we let her hit bottom, hope she doesn't die, and then help her rebuild?
Or do we just assume she's mumped and wait for the funeral?

Guy I work with just emailed me an invite to his "baby shower". I would consider said coworker a friend but we've never really hung out outside of work. I've never met his wife.

I thought it was allergies this morning but now I have a fever, chills, achy, and I have had to pee like 26 times today. I think I may have the flu. I hung out w/ my niece and nephew this weekend. Kids have germs... I'm assuming this is why I'm sick? Can any parents confirm? It sucks.

I was using the restroom at The Peanut the other night. They had the air dryers and not paper towels for drying. Guy finishes up his biz as I am walking in. I finish and he is blow drying. I am washing my hands and notice him looking at the door and then looking around the room and making some weird whimpering noise holding his hands up in front of him like he's just scrubbed up for surgery. The door is a pull to open and I realize he's waiting for it to open and doesn't want to touch it. As I'm drying my hands he makes a couple of feeble attempts to open the door with his elbows to no avail. I realize unless someone comes in before i'm done I'm going to have to open the door. This normally would be no problem for me but now knowing that the thought of touching that bacteria ridden handle sickens him and that if I touch it I will in his mind be a disgusting human being and a lesser person in his mind by doing so. Before I reach for the door I make eye contact and see what can only be described as terror. He's in his own little hell. I quickly grab for the handle and open it for him. He springs out of the room like a wild animal uncaged without as much as a thank you.
I go back to my table... slightly confused and disturbed but soon am back to myself sipping a Guinness and picking up wings with my diseased hands feeling somewhat sorry for this man.
People are weird.
