The New Joe Montgomery Birther Pit / Just heard an interesting rumor.
« on: November 10, 2016, 04:11:44 PM »
A guy at work told the the only reason Trump decided to run for President was to spite/get back at Obama.  The story goes that Trump attended some speech/dinner Obama was giving.  Obama was trying to be funny and was kind of roasting Trump making fun of him and saying disparaging things about Trump.  At the time Trump took it in stride but after the evening he commented to some of his people that he wanted to run for President to kind of shove it up Obama's Ass.

Has anyone else heard what really made Mr Trump run for President?

MANHATTAN, Kan.-Before Kansas State students can pick up their tickets to home sporting events this year, they have to sign a sportsmanship pledge in which they promise to "refrain from using profanity and inappropriate chants" and to "show respect for all participating student-athletes, coaches, fans and officials."

Any student found in violation of the sportsmanship pledge risks punishment from the school, including being removed from games and having their tickets taken away for the athletic year.

The sportsmanship pledge is a first of its kind in the Big 12. K-State students and athletic administrators came up with the idea together, said Scott Garrett, K-State's senior associate athletic director for external operations. They held several meetings on sportsmanship after K-State's men's basketball victory against Kansas last season at Bramlage Coliseum, where students loudly chanted inappropriate language during the game and stormed the court afterward. A student seemingly went out of his way to bump KU's Jamari Traylor.

Arena security failed to properly control the postgame celebration, which led to a reprimand from the conference and new Big 12 policies on the subject. Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby can now punish schools with fines and more serious measures if they lose control of future game-day atmospheres.

In his latest letter to K-State fans, athletic director John Currie praised the sportsmanship pledge, writing that sportsmanship has become a conference-wide emphasis.

"We take sportsmanship very seriously," he wrote, "and truly believe that our fans are the best in the country."

The hope is for them to be both vocal and respectful.

"We don't want to do anything to diminish the type of atmosphere that we have from a competitive standpoint," Garrett said. "Our students make a very intimidating environment. We don't want to take away from that. This is a way for us and for our students to take leadership.

"There is a very vocal minority of people that don't necessarily behave the right way all the time, but it reinforces for the ones that are positive that the culture at Kansas State is for our student fans to provide a positive atmosphere, not one that detracts from our national reputation."

Garrett said he has not heard any complaints from students about the pledge.

"We had a student sportsmanship committee with leaders from all across campus," Garrett said, "and they have really been pleased with how things came together. It has been positive."

Question is, how seriously will K-State enforce the sportsmanship pledge? When a student, or group of students, curses during a game, will they really be banned from football games for the remainder or the year? Will they be issued a warning? What if the entire student section chants something inappropriate?

The answer is to be determined.

"We will deal with those on a case-by-case basis," Garrett said. "That is no different from what we have had before. We have had ejections for students that consumed alcohol and were physically impaired. We have had ejections for students with profanity on their shirts. Sometimes they go through campus police, sometimes they go through the student judicial system.

Kansas State Football / LHC Bill Snyder show.
« on: September 08, 2014, 09:12:53 AM »
Does anyone else hate Wyatt Thompson?  I think LHC Bill Snyder might. He says some of the dumbest things on the LHC Bill Snyder show and Bill has to correct him on almost every question.

Like how about the great play of Truman?  I yelled at the tv "Truman sucked what game were you watching?"  And Bill basically said the same thing only nicer. Arrrg it was hard to watch.

Kansas State Football / Know what pisses me off about the SEC?
« on: December 21, 2011, 09:41:13 AM »
The SEC will get crowned the best conference because they put 2 teams in the NC.  I don't mind this but I wish OSU could take a shot at one of those teams.  I honestly think top to bottom the Big 12 is the toughest league and has the hardest conference schedule in the nation.  But we will not find out how the 2 SEC power teams will fair against real top teams because all they do is play the other Weak SEC teams.  I mean, who did they have to beat? You can't go by the SEC teams they playeds records, becasue they all played the same crap schools each week.  Arkansas went 10-2 for goodness sakes, obviously the SEC sucks and they will get exposed for what they really are by KSU in the cotton bowl.  Unfortunatly LSU or Alabama will be "National Champs" but what if Alabama beats LSU in another snooze fest with no offense, and Oklahoma St. Crushes Stanford?  I myself am going to crown OSU National Champs and probably punch anyone in the taint who wears a Naitonal champions shirt/hat that says otherwise.

Hubert has a secret hatred for Klien?  I mean he never gets the ball inside the 10 yard line unless Klien knows he can't score the TD.  Doesn't Hubert only have like 2 TD's on the season?  Probably would piss me off if I don't get at least a few points.

Essentially Flyertalk / Hey computer guys
« on: June 10, 2011, 08:55:21 AM »
I was trying to play a DVD on the computer for the kids to watch and the audio is jacked up.  Music and sound works but the dialog is really quiet like barely audible and if there is music and/or back ground sound you can't hear the people talking.  Is my sound card just jacked or is there a setting somewhere that I can adjust to make this work better?

Essentially Flyertalk / Strange/funny things kids say.
« on: April 20, 2011, 02:45:19 PM »
I was taking the kids somewhere, don't remember where, but my 4 year old is counting.  He counts to 5 then stops and my 7 year old says can you count to 10?  The 4 year old counts to 10.  And then the 7 Year old asks can you count to 100 and the 4 year old says no can you count to doughnut?

O.k. that was not as funny now as it was in the car but anyway if you have some funny "kids say the craziest things" lets hear them.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Sam Lawson?
« on: March 16, 2011, 11:33:13 AM »
I got a text message from a buddy of mine that was in D.C. for a conference.  He was sitting on the metro and was wearing a KSU shirt.  A guy told him he played for KSU and played with Pullen the year they beat K.U.  He told him he scored 13 points that game, and said his name was Sam Lawson.  My friend is really a combo fan (KU & KSU) and does not follow KSU as much as KU (did not attend eaither school).  He texted me to see if this story holds water.  I kind of laughed at him for a while and then said no I don't know of a Sam Lawon who played ont he 2008 KSU Cats.

This is kind of a cool story right?  We have crazy people making up stories that they played for the KSU cats, I think this might mean we have made the big time.  Feels good.

Coaches son.
good fundimentals
will be a solid player throughout his career at KSU
Doubt he will cause any off the court issues

We DO NOT need any more of him.  We need more players with freakishly long arms imo.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / UP YOUR NATIONAL MEDIA
« on: January 13, 2011, 11:53:18 AM »
Guys, I bought into the national media preseason hype.  I really didn't think we were worthy of a #3 ranking but the more they talked the more I bought in.  Now I'm in the fetal position in the corner of my house rocking back and forth saying #3 #3 we were supposed to be the #3 best team in the country now we might not even be in the top 3 of the conference or even the state of Kansas.   :frown: :frown:
