Just got a job offer.  It's a solid promotion, but I want to make a counter offer on salary.

Give me guidance on how to maneuver that conversation.  Elite business pros only, please... oh wait, that's everyone on this board.

Why do people in my office complain about going on business trips? I'm on the first of my career right now, and I am sitting in an airport lounge drinking a beer and bbs'ing. At 3:00. On a Wednesday.

Business travel is like being a rich drunk guy.

I'm always curious what people on here do for a living.  I know there are a couple attorneys and engineers, and I know we are all wealthy and young and good looking, but I want more details.

I'll start.

I do public relations and marketing for a big ol' sleazy law firm.  I like it mostly.  The people are all nice enough, and I'm given quite a bit of control over how I spend my time (as long as I can demonstrate value at the "end of the day").
