Really happy for you guys.  After that embarassment to Arkansas State, it was good to see something positive happen for KState fans.

Watching Lockett run around the field last night on Dallas was incredible!  All I could keep thinking of was how proud he was making you guys.

9 receptions for 100 yards and 3 touchdowns!

After your wise coach put on his robe and wizard hat, Mississippi State was properly worn down for Auburn.  Thanks guys!

And remember,

Kansas State Football / Impressive Long Term Strategy Manhattenites!
« on: September 10, 2018, 01:36:47 PM »
Good work Saturday, I see that you guys let those fellas from Miss State win a football game.  They won't know what hits them next year in Starkville*!  Same for Vandy in 2020.  I applaud this long term view as I'm always spinning yarns to the misses, telling her how it's better to be proactive, looking to the future, versus reactive.

Sorry about the cowbells, the entire SEC is embarrassed by them :(

*They refer to Starkville as Starkvegas frequently, you heard it here first.

Jayhawks!  Hahahhaahahahaha, you guys have a dumb mascot!  Jayhawks, lol.

Kansas State Football / NFL Players I Thought Were From KSU
« on: October 09, 2014, 01:52:59 PM »
I swore that Cole Beasley was an ex KSU player!

Stats
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 180
Team: Da 'Boys!

Small, white wide receiver that is just super spunky.  I thought for sure that this MAN went to KSU.  Sort of pale and has a hellacious blond mullet for everyone to enjoy.  Now he's part of America's Team as America's favorite undersized wide out!

Look at this handsome eff!  He's KSU through and through, don't lie to me!

Kansas State Football / You Guys Want the SEC East?

We'll give you the 7 teams but you can't have Spurrier or the chant.  This crap is just embarassing.

Will that give you enough teams to have a championship game?

Kansas State Football / Embarrassing, for Both Teams
« on: September 18, 2014, 10:21:31 PM »
Guys, that was awful.  Your team looked awful and Auburn looked awful.

On serious notes
  • I feel bad for your kicker.  That kid is not gettin' any lovin' anytime soon
  • I see nothing to get excited about with your QB.  How in the hell you consider him a running qb is beyond me.  He looked like Frankenstein when he carried the ball.
  • Both teams looked REALLY slow.  That was an awful game of nothing more than strung out wide plays run to the short side, drops and that Curry guy basically being your offense.
  • Auburn will probably lose 3 or 4 games this season if Gus doesn't figure out how to counter what The Wizard did.
  • Zero flags on KSU, yeah right.  That's realistic.  About as realistic as Auburn dropping all of those passes.  Unreal.
  • The series when Auburn was up 17-7 and in the Red Zone was maybe the worst I have ever seen Auburn under Gus.  Wow.
  • The ESPN slob knobbin' over Auburn got old really quick.  I couldn't imagine watching that as a KSU fan.
  • For the 19 points you left on the field, I think Auburn had 21 or so on dropped long passes and missed, easy interceptions.  I cannot believe you made our D look that competent.
  • I noticed that someone said something about Auburn having KSU's calls.  I really believe that Auburn has something going on in this department.  Gus has someone scouting teams way ahead of time imo.  Happened vs FSU too.
  • While that offsides on 4th and 1 was awful, the shuffle pass you guys pulled off later in the game was equally as beautiful.  Nice play

On more serious notes
  • What's wrong with your stadium?  Could you guys not afford the rest of the lego pieces needed to build it? ~56k is your 5th largest crowd ever?
  • You guys mock the South?!?!  I think I spotted the first minority in the crowd during the 3rd quarter!!!
  • I like how you had SEC printed on all of those signs around your stadium.  We know you want in, we'll see if we can kick out Vandy and make room for you.
  • Your crowd and student section looked amped up but may have some of the lamest movements I've ever seen.  Really, it was bad.
  • Crowd shots   Might want to get some stair masters out there for your ladies.

Thanks for being the first road win vs a top 20 opponent for Auburn in 30 years.  Sorry it was such an awful game to watch.  Thankfully the NFL game was even worse

Kansas State Football / Jermaine Whitehead - Starting DB for Auburn
« on: September 18, 2014, 02:42:34 PM »
Not making the trip to Lawrence.  Apparently he bit on a double move at the airport and got really lost.

This may be a big blow to ya'lls (ya'll like that!!!) chances.  Any removal of a starting DB at Auburn can only help this defensive backfield.  Nowhere to go but up!

Kansas State Football / Week 2 Analysis of Auburn and KSU!
« on: September 08, 2014, 10:43:05 AM »
The Game of the Century is coming up and we look deeper at each team!

Auburn played the Spartans and though the Spartans from California put up a valiant fight, they lost 13-59.  The Associate Press appreciated the effort though, and immediately put the Spartans at #9 in their top 25 poll.  Impressive!

Kansas State played the fighting Chiziks in Manhatten!  Though going down early, Coach Prince got his boys all mustered up and they ran off the last 19 points of the game to finish off the Cyclones!  Good game, good job, good effort!  Kansas State was rewarded with a death grip on #19 in the AP poll.  Impressive!

Looking forward to September 18th.

Is this the forum in which I fly my SEC flag high?  What a shitty down year for our conference.

Your conference is nice and all, but believe me when I say that watching the Big 10 come oh so close to three teams in the Final Four, but fail, is much more satisfying.

I know, I know, there's a thread for books on here already.  I feel that I have to get this out to the masses so that we can discuss this 'book'.

I cannot decide if I was punked by all of the posters in the book thread telling me how great this book was or if there's nothing more than a bunch of folks on the mental level of Odell that really think it is a great book.  Hell, the Amazon reviews LOVE this book and I just don't get it.

Pros
- Some really strong and dynamic characters.  Lamar, Odell and Richard are pretty much the only reason I finished, that and wanting to see how the crap show would end.
- Nothing else.

Cons
- Stephen Hunter is not a good author.  I remember seeing Shooter on a movie channel with my wife and it was TERRIBLE.  I didn't know it was based on a book, because I thought no one could write that poorly, I just thought it was a terrible director and script.  No sir, after reading DWB, I feel like Shooter was a masterpiece.
- Bud, Holly, their family and everyone else reads flat and stale.  Nothing interesting about them at all.
- The way the author addresses the affairs in the book is just insane.  You've got to be able to suspend belief while reading, but if you can find 10 women that would act like Holly, Jen and the Stepford wife, I would be amazed.  "Sorry".  "It's ok".  Awful.
- The last two scenes in the book may be the most clichéd things I've ever read.  Everyone was talking about how hilarious the book was.  To me, the only things I laughed at, were these two passages.

If you like violence and want to read an author that can command your imagination, go read Blood Meridian.  Don't waste your time with this soap opera/pulp bullshit.

On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being CBS' wizard cap and 1 being Jamies Winston's speeches in Communications class, this book gets a solid 3, and only because Lamar figures he's worth 4 or 5 by himself.

Getting some major work done to our basement, where we have experienced some bowed walls and moisture build up.

We're 10 days in and work is going pretty well and I thought the pics were pretty interesting so here we go.

 Work to be done:
 - Dig out the basement room walls, pressure wash them, waterproof them, replace footer drain, fill in with gravel and properly grade afterwards
 - Reinforce inside basement walls with 19 carbon fiber straps to stop the bowing of the walls
 - Reinforce the one corner, where it's really bad, with a tie-back

The blue wall receives a lot of moisture and is the front wall of the house.  The corner there has "failed" and need some serious work.

The bushes are right above the corner that needs work.

Back corner of the room.  Nice butt shot!

Kansas State Football / Malzahn Executed at SEC HQ
« on: January 09, 2014, 10:43:11 AM »
Quote
Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn was stripped naked, thrown into a cage, and eaten alive by a pack of ravenous dogs, according to a newspaper with close ties to SEC commissioner Mike Slive.

Malzahn, who had been considered an up-and-coming coach in college football, was executed this morning after losing the BCS title game and ending the SEC’s streak of seven consecutive national championships. He was found guilty of “attempting to undermine SEC superiority.”

Birmingham, Ala.-based pro-SEC newspaper “Birmingham News” reported that Malzahn and his five top assistants were set upon by 120 hunting hounds which had been starved for five days.

Slive and Alabama head coach Nick Saban supervised the one-hour ordeal along with other SEC coaches, according to the report. The newspaper added that Malzahn and his assistants were “completely eaten up.”

In the highly scripted execution, the SEC accused Malzahn of “attempting to undermine conference superiority by all sorts of intrigues and despicable methods including not sniffing out an obvious fake punt and failing to hold a lead.”

The conference also accused him of of corruption, stealing recruits, playing a thief at quarterback and “embarrassing” clothing choices.

The SEC also today announced plans to test a missile in southeast Alabama, not far from Tallahassee, Florida.

I've got my ESS EEE SEE chant down pretty well and have plans to wake up my ten month old son if we win, just like I did to his three year old brother when Cam brought it home, but I need more to root on my beloved Auburn Tigers to a win.

It is pretty cold here in Birmingham, with temps in the teens for game time, so please take that into consideration.  I'm also having a lot of work done with my basement, so there are dump truck loads of dirt around for fun.

Here's what I need help with...

Refreshments?

Snacks?

Music?

Attire?
