So I'm all about people organizing and protesting things they are passionate about.  I don't have an issue with someone doing what they feel is their civic duty, even if my idea of civic duty differs from theirs.  What really irks me is when these protests/events take place and every time someone gets arrested the organizing entities make a federal case against the arresting police departments.  Now I have no doubt that some of the arrests should not take place.  I also have no doubt that some officers in the police departments are way too aggressive towards these people and should be punished for their actions, but not every arrest is illegal and a result of police brutality.

It is like these organizations have no idea about PR and don't realize that they do more damage to their causes when they make every arrest a police brutality or abuse of power issue.  Just my two cents.

Essentially Flyertalk / Question about Credit Checks
« on: April 04, 2014, 02:51:15 PM »
Where is a good place to go about checking your credit?  I have heard a million different ways, reasons not to do it, etc....So I figured I may as well come the good ol' reliable gE crowd to get some information.  Don't fail me now.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / 'Grats Cat Fans
« on: February 11, 2014, 02:48:13 PM »
I could have said this in some preexisting thread, but wanted to make sure it wasn't buried.

Congrats KSU fans, your boys deserved to win the game last night.  outplayed KU fro probably 38-40 of the 45 minutes.  Truth be told KU was extremely fortunate to even get the game to overtime.  The day after I'm incredibly frustrated because going into the game KU was the top 3pt shooting team in conference games, and the entire team just crapped the bed in that part of the game last night.  Look forward to playing you again in KC at the big XII tourney.

Essentially Flyertalk / Little article on modern day KKK

Has some interesting photos, way too few of them though. I do have to say these people are exactly what I pictured KKK members to look like.

Essentially Flyertalk / Antonio Morrison Arrest
« on: July 23, 2013, 07:16:11 AM »
Don't know who has seen it, but here is the dashboard cam video of Antonio Morrison being arrested for barking at a police dog.

I'm sorry but this is just stupid, no reason he should have been arrested.  Looking at the video it also seems like the Gainseville police went a bit overboard while arresting him.  3 officers, are you kidding me? Didn't really look like Morrison was giving them much trouble other than being pretty confused and shocked that he was being arrested. It's no wonder that you hear how young black males feel like they are singled out by police.

Essentially Flyertalk / Successful Haggling
« on: June 27, 2013, 08:14:47 AM »
I had a milestone moment in my life last night. Had my first real successful haggle. I need a new couch and all the furniture store sin Topeka are having crazy good deals because they are all moving into the mall.  Apparently it is better to sell the existing furniture way marked down than to actually move it to the new store. Anyway the lady friend and I were looking at a couch that was originally $1,300 but was marked down to $750. I stroll up to the salesman and let him know I like the couch but not for that price and offer a cool $600 cash for the couch. The sales guy thinks about it for a second and says we have a deal. I played it calm while we finished up the transaction, but once we were outside I was all .

This got me thinking, what great haggling stories does the gE crowd have. Let's hear how everyone is all  :kstategrad: because they saved so much money.

Essentially Flyertalk / Traumatic Event
« on: May 23, 2013, 11:51:26 AM »
I just got stuck in an elevator for ten minutes and had to be rescued by maintenance crews and building security.  I'm pretty shook up over here, but luckily my ordeal is over. What traumatic things have you all experienced? Obviously none of them can compare to what I just went through.

I'M SO EXCITED RIGH TNOW I HAVE TO TYPE IN ALL CAPS.

The New Joe Montgomery Birther Pit / Benghazi Hearing
« on: May 08, 2013, 11:42:58 AM »
Anyone else watching these? I'm not really sure what to make of them so far, seems as though it is a bunch of people just recapping timelines and not really saying much.  Granted I have only been watching for a little bit.

Essentially Flyertalk / Recent Observations
« on: April 10, 2013, 02:30:27 PM »
So lately I have been noticing on all forms of social media and message boards just how angry the majority of people are.  I suppose I always knew that people were angry, but it is really sticking out to me now.  I'm not really sure what to do with this observation, but it kind of depresses me.  It made me curious what things other people have just recently been noticing. So what have you all been noticing in your daily lives?

Essentially Flyertalk / Don't get the difference
« on: April 03, 2013, 02:48:07 PM »
This thread is probably going to get bashed but I really don't understand the difference and the point of having  :surprised: and  :sdeek:.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Interesting Article
« on: March 28, 2013, 09:53:38 AM »
Stumbled across this article on another board and thought I would share.  It really focuses on Pitt because that is the team the question was asked, but it includes a downloadable spreadsheet that compares teams NCAA tournament appearances and wins from 2002-2012 vs their expected tournament wins based on seed.  Just found it interesting to look at.

Essentially Flyertalk / Help with Internet Extenders
« on: March 25, 2013, 02:43:47 PM »
So the house I live in is almost 50 years old and spacious.  The wireless does not reach my room and I am thinking about buying an extender to try and rectify the situation.  Has anyone used these before or know much about them? I have heard mixed reviews and don't have that much knowledge on them myself.  TIA

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Interesting UT Rumor
« on: March 12, 2013, 12:37:00 PM »
So two radio hosts in Austin stated on Twitter a few days ago that there was going to be really big news coming down and that it was not good.  Rumor is that the outgoing track coach is naming people in the AD who were banging students and leaking out nude photos of female sports teams/athletes.  Nothing substantiated as of yet, but interesting to say the least.  If true this could lead to Deloss getting fired and peaking interest from Currie.  Who knows what is true or not, still just rumor, but I thought I would share.

I know that amount of ridiculous statements, hate and vitriol that this poster showcases on both KU and KSU stories posted at can only come from the gE crowd.  So who is it?  I really don't think it is any of you, but it is definitely worth venturing to that site after KU or KSU games to read his comments.  He is dedicated to the cause.

I don't know if you all saw this but Coach Ratface had to stop the old Duke student section from storming the court after the #2 team in the country beat an unranked UNC team.  What a bunch of idiots.
