Found myself thinking tonight "I wonder if we could have traded Moose for Valencia instead of Lough." I doubt it, but would have taken then, would absolutely take now.

So where I sit, when the players run onto the field before the game they run straight at me.  I remember holding up the  :lynchmob: and I see #4 headed my way  :lynchmob: looking right at me head bobbing.  I'm like  :surprised:  ABIII is  :lynchmob: right with me!  THEN he gets closer and I'm like "hmm that dude is too tall for ABIII" and then I'm like  :Wha: :Wha: :Wha: holy crap that's Sams!!!!!!  Hold the phone here people!!!

EMO - Section 13 also, more like row 20 tho. I always feel like they're coming straight to high five me. Especially #LIFE. I'll miss it. :bawl:

...A chance to be the starting QB at McNeese State? Please give me the line of reasoning that this makes sense in.  The logical conclusion IMO is that he is chasing fame.

No you are just placing blame and lashing out to comfort your hurt EMAW deep inside.  I deal with this pain with speculation. It is cathartic for me.

I don't care how many times you use cathartic or postulating or any other awesome words you remember from PSAT prep classes, they won't make your posts be any less dumb.

"Postulating" about a player who has shown no evidence but to be extremely EMAW and a big-time team player from day one is not going to go well. Search for "Pullen" and "Stolen Bike" for a good lesson in postulating.

Oh and that McNeese State/chasing fame thing was really rich. Just great stuff. Nearly sock-ish.

I've seen several of these in the last few days, and maybe it's the K-StateO in me talking but I find it hard to believe Lockett won't be in the top 32 next year. I get it that he's a little small, but that wasn't a problem for several guys this year.

New thread because "another one" is getting bogged down.

Not for debate about Sams vs. Waters, or for losery types like ydarg to say how losery Sams was.

Personally, the moment he stepped in for Klein against Mo State in 2012 and I got all excited and explained to all the dudes around me at BSFS about his #LIFE tattoo and then he proceeded to run for like 50 yard in his first play from scrimmage and then I facebooked "#LIFE" even though nobody except gE people knew what that meant and I don't think hashtags even worked on facebook at that time.

Memories.   :bawl:

Sprint has its advantages

Yes, this is a big one, but once I got a smartphone I pretty much put myself in a position to stay with Verizon unless I wanted to buy out contracts.

Have yet to re-up my Verizon contract with one of their in-store new phones to I can stay grandfathered in to my old unlimited data smartphone plan.  :billdance:

KK is 'clams and the last day or so has been "does playing Arkansas hurt our image?"

False, apples oranges, etc.

This is just another day in the life of KC sports in general, a mild accomplishment we'll all forget until the next open letter.

What clams accomplished in pigaggiegeddon was an interstate, interconference event for the ages. Even if he didn't know what he started.

No one is denying that the YMCA was integral in developing and expanding the game of basketball.  So was KU.  The first stage of the sport of basketball can be traced back to KU.  The guy who invented the sport coached at KU and created our basketball program.  The guy who made basketball an official olympic sport and created the NACB coached at KU.

What more do you want?

 :dunno:

Not so much more but less. Beems we're not discrediting KU's place in basketball history. It is definitely significant. The Naismith part of that claim though, is just hilarious and overblown.

Quote from: Lost Letterman
When it came to the KU basketball team, Naismith just didn’t have interest. He didn’t attend the Jayhawks’ practices, and his attention during the 115 games he coached was diverted by the fact that he served as the referee in most of those games. A common quote attributed to him is, “You can’t coach basketball, you just play it.”

Naismith developed and expanded the game at Kansas.

Quote from: Some Website
Not only did the YMCA have a huge part in spreading basketball around the world, but WWI and the North American soldiers that fought in it are also frequently given credit for spreading the game throughout the world.
Phog also created the NCAA tournament.
Quote from: Wikipedia, FWIW
The tournament, organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), was created during 1939 by the National Association of Basketball Coaches, and was the idea of Ohio State University coach Harold Olsen
The sport of basketball has origins in Lawrence, KS.
Quote from: Some Website
The first official college basketball game was played on January 18, 1896 between the University of Iowa and the University of Chicago.  The final score was 15-12, with the visiting Chicago team the victors.
Quote from: Wikipedia again
On February 9, 1895, the first intercollegiate 5-on-5 game was played at Hamline University between Hamline and the School of Agriculture, which was affiliated with the University of Minnesota.[9][10] The School of Agriculture won in a 9–3 game.

Lots of interesting stuff out there. All trolling aside, the fact that Naismith/Fogg were there is really cool, but honestly the whole "it was founded here" thing is way overblown. It was both founded and spread by the YMCA more than any other entity. Also Naismith telling Phog you can't coach basketball is pretty great.

Imagine that, except it's Angel coming back to the bench and smiling at oscar over sinking a three. Does that picture happen even once this year? Probably not. Angel is too much Frank, too much JYC, too much of everything that was incredible for a few years. I don't get arguing over his place with the greats - for me it will always be about the great potential and style of ball that Angel's leaving signaled the end of.

Frank's teams had their own brand of potential, and I've come around to the awesome feeling of seeing these Freshmen play whatever brand of basketball this is. I still haven't come around on oscar, or Bruceketball, or Bruceketcruiting, but it is currently giving me a better season and more hope for the next 3 years than I ever thought I'd have.

I hate that talking about Angel becomes a de facto #BID vs #oscar argument. Angel is riding a rough ridin' cruiser bike on the beach in Miami talking about dominating a lesser conference at the new Transfer U, and I'm not over it. That's all.

They'll have two years of eligibility left, and both will be 23 year-olds poised to dominate the ACC as seniors. For now, they discuss their plight while riding bikes on South Beach.

Sorry if Luke'd. Glad he's happy, but  :bawl:

Kansas State Football / Re: Visiting your board until our game
« on: December 10, 2013, 08:43:04 AM »
OK, I'm back.  I had to double-check because I thought I had accidentally wandered onto the Red Cedar Message Board, where Michigan State fans hang out.  All of the profane name-calling because you're angry that everyone has a better life than you do-I figured it HAD to be the RCMB.  But no, it's really Kansas State's board.  I understand that you all have a lot of free time now, as the only big decision of your year ("Do I plant corn or wheat"?) is still months away.  Still, I expected more dialogue about football, especially because I  have so many questions about your team.  For instance, I always forget if your coach played Dumbledore or Gandalf.  I don't know which high schools are on your non-conference schedule next year.  Does living in a state best known for having renowned psycho John Brown as a resident hurt recruiting?  If you're driving through Kansas and fall asleep at, how many hours is it before you hit something?  Anyway, looking forward to some good discussions, now that I'm in tune with the mood on the board... :)

Kansas State Football / Football Recruiting Thread
« on: August 17, 2013, 12:53:46 AM »

Thank you. It was a ton of fun to write.

nice work, fake jeremy crabtree (WARNING: NOT THE REAL JEREMY CRABTREE)

that's the real jeremy crabtree fwiw

oh.  cool.  welcome crabemy!

Is that the combo of crab and enemy?  I really hope it is because the storyline behind a man having an actual crab as a mortal must be incredible.

Not to go all Daris/ clams here, but that article was really rough ridin' Tuckish and kind of against the grain of wrsoat. I mean it's cool that crab posted and all but can we call it what it is? Either hindsight 20/20 or foresight 20/80

6'5 small forward? Jesus. Shane is 6'6 and is undersized against about 90% of the teams we play.

Well, he did play the 4.

In oscar's world, there is no 4

Which part? lol if they transfer? lol if we want them? lol if they come here?

lol if they come here. it's, like, you mumped up there so now you are making an exact duplicate of it down to the players. also throws his recruiting excuse out the window.

Heard oscar is also trying to get his favorite restaurant in Champaign to move to Manhattan

Manhattan already has a Freddy's. Next.

Bill is getting soft.

OR

I bet that the GF is just the sister of some huge recruit and he is pulling some last ditch effort to get the kid to KU.

why wouldn't he just give her a job like he normally does with recruits family?

Motherhood is the ultimate job.
