Feels like we would be getting another oscar, which would further set the program back. One could make the argument that this would be more analogous to Rich Rod at Arizona in football, which would be an improvement over oscar IMO.

I swear I read this article the year we scape goated Foster. Good to see we have gotten back to the place we were at when oscar and Currie burnt it down.

So it sounds like the general consensus is that this is a Kill-er hire?

If he can get his good buddy GP to come home (.5% chance), it's a home run.

If he keeps Currie from a oscar esque hire in football, it's worth the puns.

If he sticks his toes in basketball, helps crap can oscar and helps bring in someone decent, it's Kill-er. JMO.

suck it, fordham

True story, I took over Fordham on NCAA 2K8 and made them into a hoops dynasty. I'm pretty sure that's the last thing of relevance they've done in basketball in either virtual reality or actual reality. If we land this kid, oscar should go flex on their crowd in the 5,000* person gym

*note, this could have changed since 2007

I just read through the 2015 results and they said something about a team getting to design its own uniform because they got 1,000 fan votes...are they doing that again?

Someone good at photoshop, make an 09-10 mock up with "Purple and Black" in place of "K-State." Same font.

wonder if pitt reached out to oscar
It wouldn't be that surprising at this point.

he received offers from Oklahoma, Oregon and Wake Forest while at Illinois. Didn't Marquette go after him a few years ago?

No, well at least not seriously. We  (universal gE we) drummed that up on Twitter. We created the smoke there.

Could bosco hire Brad from OSU?  He hasn't probably even bought a house yet.

I would said no, but let's be real here it's Pat rough ridin' Bosco. He could pull this off.

because he got another job. (rumors) :whistle1:

Technically correct even if the date was wrong.

We need to do what WV did to us taking away Huggs. Let him be there 1 year, and steal his ass from them. But that'll never happen so oh well.

Full circle. His introductory press conference here:

"Brad, why did you leave Oklahoma State after getting to the Sweet 16 in year one?"

"Simple. Oklahoma State was a great place, but KSU has always beeny dream job. Why settle for second, when first is available?"

It's never happening.

i do wonder if it says something about recruits that choose to play for oscar weber because they know they'll be able to walk all over him.

Don't get me wrong, I want oscar fired and I wanted him fired the day we hired him. But the man does have (conference) rings. Those can make up for a lot to an 18 year old. You can bet he has a case that is a main focus in his office on recruiting visits.

Also, when you can pull the Big XII card out and the player is only getting MAC/MVC like offers with mild interest from the big boys it sure looks appealing. I haven't looked at oscar's recruiting class closely in terms of other offers, but something tells me this is happening to an extent.

Can't say for other classes, but this is the case for our non Xavier Sneed recruits this year. That said, Sneed is a good get.

IIRC, wasn't the board's name at one point "be outstanding not out standing?" I feel like this was last year (14-15) sometime

Georgia might get us in. :lynchmob:

They're Brucing this game

It would be incredibly oscar like for this team to go on a run to the championship game, lose, and still have oscar get an extension.

16
Classic post-game oscar quote:

"A good win. One of the things, the last two years we
haven't won, we haven't had the winning locker room,
and now we have the winning locker room."

Do they give rings for that?

 :excited:

We haven't had the locker room to win games against a 19 loss team that is about to fire their coach? rough ridin' yikes city, we are worse than I thought.

This hiring would've made a lot more sense after frank left

It would have likely been a stretch for us even back then.

He turned down Tennessee when Pearl was let go, for around $2 Mil per year over 8 years.

So yeah.

Oh don't get me wrong, I don't think it would've been likely. Just more  likely than our current situation.

Learnin will love him

Name change? _FWN?

22
We really should just be grateful that we have such a wonderful representative for K-State. Bringing in people who fit the #FAMILY. Except when they don't, but oscar takes care of that when their benefit as a player no longer outweighs their benefit as a scapegoat.

23
The future looked pretty bright back then.

In hindsight, looking at the big picture, losing Huggins may suck more now than it did at the time.

To be fair, things likely would've worked out okay if we just hire underwood when frank left

24
Terrible effort . . . inexcusable.

Yet not inexBruceable. Shots weren't falling and we didn't have Kamu. Bad luck that we didn't make a 3 on any of the attempts at the end of the game. What are you gonna do? OSU was due.
